If the Packers lose a close one there will be several who will post they want Love traded, they want MLF fired, they want Gutey fired.

If the Packers lose in a blow out there will be several who will post they want Love traded, they want MLF fired, they want Gutey fired.

If the Packers win it will be crickets.

Fixed that for you.

MLF has always downplayed his part. He takes all the blame (except when he called out Nixon) and deflects all the credit. This year, it seems like he's been more emotional and willing to get on guys during games. The way he's getting guys open is... wow. Have you ever seen a guy so all alone on the prairie like Musgrave was yesterday? Yes, Love has had to play his part and some of his throws have been incredible. But once MLF understood how to call plays for this group, they took off. There's been a lot of times when this season could have been a Dumpster fire, but MLF has done a great job. We might have underestimated him. One thing is for sure: dumping Rodgers was good for MLF.

ps: if MLF doesn't dump Barry, then I want a do-over.

Good piece from Demovsky on MLF (and Love) Key point:

If anyone thought LaFleur's success in his first three years -- which included back-to-back-to-back 13-win seasons and two NFC Championship Game appearances -- was simply a ride on Rodgers' coattails, then what he has done with Love this season should dispel that notion.

Counter point: MLF went from riding the coattails of a future hall of fame quarterback to riding the coattails of another future hall of fame quarterback. It's Clements, stupid.

After the Packers "arrived" this season....Do you know when that was? They barely hung on to beat the Chargers after a Keenan Allen dropped TD pass. That wasn't the game....but it was the start....

They arrived this season after haymakering the Lions on Thanksgiving, then continued it beating KC on Sunday Night....that's when they arrived....

Then something happened the next 2-3 weeks & they reverted to early season form vs. the Giants and Tampa and Carolina, going 1-2 over those 3 games with MLF's first losses in December and barely beating the Panthers, 33-30.

We were all screaming for Berry's firing. We still are! Lol....but something changed & I think it's all MLF. He's pouring his soul into this team this year and THAT is what a good HC does. He's involved in all facets of the team but MLF is right....there's only so many hours in the day.

His focus is certainly the offense, of course, but he's involved in the defense too...there's no other explanation for the immediate turn aRound since that Panthers game.

Now....a new challenge and a familiar foe....one facet of the team he should NOT ignore is Special Teams. Bisaccia should have those guys focused and....GASP... Make a big play on Saturday Night! THE PACKERS MAKE A GAME CHANGING PLAY ON SPECIAL TEAMS.... 😯😳

All I ask is something very simple....for the love of all that's holy....PLEASE....

MAKE THIS GAME COMPETITIVE!!

or blowout the Niners on their field either way....just please don't get boat raced like Jan 2020.

I don't think its an accident that suddenly the defense is starting to play something resembling defense for a few weeks now since MLF became more involved.  I have nothing to base this upon but I bet MFL sat down with defensive players to get their honest opinion for how to improve.  Again just a hunch but I think that is what a good HC does and talks to his players to see what they think and feel out there and how to improve.

I just want a competitive game but there is a huge part of me that wants to curb stomp SF and pay them back.

The biggest mystery of the season is so far the defensive turnaround.  The indicators seem to point to MLF inserting his will.  I've noticed not only schematic changes and surprises but they look like they're playing more physical too and with some attitude.  This is most noticeable in their tackling.

If MLF listened to the players and or put them in sets that they felt more comfortable with, did the players then in turn regain some swagger and confidence knowing they're not simply playing a preventative game but a more attacking one?

Did the offense's emergence and ability to score 30pts on their opponent grant the defense the leeway it needed to take more risks and make more plays?

Or was it actually Joe Barry.  He's turned his defenses up late in the season every year he's been here.  Is this the same thing?

There is a sneaking suspicion that SF finds another way to exploit a ST weakness.  Bisaccia has been up and down this year.  They're flirting with disaster on those short kickoffs.  XPT and FG have been a bit of an adventure.  What has looked solid so far, save Reed's wiff on the one, has been the onsides kicks, which have become incredibly low success rate plays in the NFL.  I wonder if SF could catch us off guard with an unplanned onsides kick somewhere in the middle of the game.
