Just watched the game.  Thoughts:

How the hell was old leadfoot getting a step on his guy?

Crockett has crazy quickness for a guy his size.  Hope he can pick up a blitz.

Starks all knees and elbows...and sometimes holds the ball like he has no hands.

TD to DA was beautious.

AR finally Killin it with his legs.

DET DBs a bunch of "no names" are pretty damn good.  They'll be known real soon.

Pardon the 3rd and long conversions and there is a lot to like about the D.

I'm a bit unconvinced the O has turned a corner...but they did a little more than last week.

I was one of the nellies and it didn't help that I was surrounded by a bunch of Seahawks fans cheering on the Lions.   On the road for work and I swear those "fans" are in a dead heat with Vikings fans for biggest frontrunners ever.

Anyway, the beer and frustrations were flowing so I apologize to the X4 posse.

Not sure how the rest of the season will end up but props to Dick Rod and A Rod and the D for making a couple of important stops late in the game.

Duhvante Adams still pisses me off and Lacy - what is his deal??

Can't wait for them to pound the Cowboys

It's an interesting theory

I am sure the last month has separated out the bandwagon fans from the so called real fans.

Personally, if you had to Iive through the 70s or 80s and are still a rabid fan of this team it's all relative.

The Internet is just a mechanism for people to express their views and forums exist in real time.  It's part of the deal.  If you don't like it then don't read it or post in it.

I'm glad I'm a second tier fan because I get POd and annoyed and sometimes post stupid ****.  I'm just fascinated people care that much about it.

Very well put. Being frustrated doesn't mean you are not a fan or don't support the Pack. Personally, I have never seen (or even heard of) Football prior to 1987. Came to Milwaukee and became a GB fan. Have seen terrible years and SB wins. I have never rooted for another team (ever) even though we lived in 6 or 7 states. I openly admit I am more pessimistic than being swept up in the euphoria (this is general to my life as well). I have come back to this board and ate my share of crow (very gladly as Pack won) time and again.

So, I won't take offense if people on this board say I am being negative, but I will definitely be upset if I am told I am not a true fan.

Don't forget the geezers who were lucky/old enough to sneak into old City Stadium in the 50's.  50's, 70's, & 80's, Some really good players in each decade, but mostly thirty years of crap around the dynasty of the 60's.

LOL, forgot to mention...  STILL RABID!

You're right BVAN.  I only mentioned the 70s and 80s because I am in my 40s and that's how I was introduced to the Packers.  Even though I consider those years the "dark ages" of suck I still followed them.  That's what a real fan does.

Makes me wonder what those days would have been like with the Internet and chat rooms and boards.

Had the same debate with a buddy recently about Favre.  Can you imagine if Twitter and the break a story every 5 minutes would have been like early in his career?  It might have derailed his career altogether.

I don't know if I would classify myself as a neg nelly, but there was nothing good about 45 of 60 min of that game.

+

Jake Ryan from State Farm, Dick Rodgers, hhcd, Crockett, last 1/4 defense, 83's kickoffs, screen passes

-

Lacy (not happy about that story), WR's(89 first, 17 second), OL backups

=

the pack won, I will take a win over a loss any-day, but that team looked awful for 85% of that game, I will take the G&G glasses off, they will be one and done if the playoffs happened today...they will continue and press on, but I can't imagine how the pack wins in the playoffs...lots of things to change up and improve on.

"Care that much" LMAO. Also part of that very same "deal": when you're watching the game with someone and they declare the game over with 7 minutes left, and declare the whole season over, it is a buzz kill.  And by the very same deal, if you choose to post that kind of crap, you are going to get called on it afterwards. That is the extent I care: to let you know it sucked.  Don't want to be called out, then don't do it. That should be the "deal."

At the very least, if you want to rip farts that stink up the room, don't blame people for holding their nose, or act all butt-hurt or above-it-all and accuse them of caring too much for pointing it out.  You're the one that ****ing farted, and it didn't happen in a vacuum. If we have to smell it, this "internet mechanism" allows us to point out who dealt it, and you're going to get critiqued.

Cheer the **** up.

Go **** yourselves. I am done with you. Pls offer the courtesy of not replying to my posts, if not for me but for the sake of others on this forum. As for me this is the last time I react to your bs.

If I were smart, I would start a program to give individuals their own private forum that no one else can read or see and let them go to their private forum and post whatever they want and blow off steam.  Do you think that would work?

NO, it would not.

There is so much more to the dynamic than simply posting to blow off steam or get something off your chest.  I post stupid stuff for two reasons (the first being that I am stupid). The second is because I want something in response.  Usually its someone to talk me down off the ledge or give me a reason to be positive.  Sometimes I am looking for a kindred spirit to tell me they are seeing the same thing that i am.

Basically, I know its not the brightest thing in the world to come to a fan forum and post negative crap and I understand that it will get pushback (such as being reminded for 5 years that one time you said that the Vikings were improving by signing free agents) but sometimes I do it anyway.

My point....don't use the blowing off steam excuse...there is more to negative posting than just that...but also, don't be so quick to attack the negative poster, a negative post does not necessarily mean the poster is a negative jerk.

Absolutely agree, I am not doubting anyone's intent or loyalty to the Pack. They are good fans and generally post readable opinions. Just talking about the game time gloom and unreadable doom. I seriously mean it constructively.

Hold me.

I'm no Saint. Didn't see you in the game thread this last game or the chat room the game before that. You had to be there. It sucked and I think you would have agreed.

I don't doubt it.  I couldn't watch the game when it was on so I didn't want to spoil it but I'm fully aware of the over the top angst that just gets ridiculous.

Piss and moan about a bad call.  Get pissed about game planning.  There's plenty to be irritated about but ultimately if you use a bad streak for grinding personal axes I have no pity.

My takes are wide open to criticism and I what bothers me more is the complaining when someone gives a you a wedgie.  Seriously, people need to toughen the **** up.  The only people that get ridden constantly around here are the ones that pop their heads up for the **** only or have a personal agenda.  A little rough and tumble separates the chronic ding dongs from merely irritated fans.

Sometimes we all need a punch in the mouth and the way it's done around here is with solid analysis and snark.  If your argument is legit, argue it.  Case in point, Myles White would be a welcome addition right now.  Argued, roughed up some but completely legit point.

x4, not for pussies.

Henry's post sums up, exactly, my point to this entire thread.

I call them "cockroaches"....some posters who come out "only when the lights go out" (aka Packers losing) to give us their "I told ya so" takes.

I encourage the back & forth, positive AND negative takes. Don't post your negative ****, then vanish when the Packers are winning because it doesn't fit your personal agenda.
