Personally, if you had to Iive through the 70s or 80s and are still a rabid fan of this team it's all relative.

EXACTLY!  Any of us that lived though those dark and horrible days appreciates every second of what we have now.  Sure it can be frustrating sometimes to watch them struggle but I sit back and think that back in the 70's and 80's. I never would have believed back then if you told me one day they would contend almost every year not just for the playoffs but for Super Bowls and I bet I would have laughed at you.  That is why if they win I am still as happy as when they won back then and if they lose?  Well I have seen worse.

Myles White wasn't the answer or he would still be wearing Green and Gold.

No one player (outside of Jordy Nelson) is going to be the go-to-guy, world-beater  type answer right now,  it's about finding the right combination to be able to get the job done with a HOF QB throwing them the ball.  It can't be that far off if, as a unit, they were doing okay to start the season.  Would White be enough to stretch the field and open things up?  Maybe, maybe not, we'll never know, but one thing is for sure: gimpy Adams, dipshyt Janis, double-teamed Cobb and blanketed, deep-route-running Jones are definitely not getting the job done.

It's the right question though.  If this season goes down the toilet, the receiving corps will be first and foremost on the blame list.  As I said in the Cowboys thread, Adams and R-Rogers have got to keep improving, and Janis needs to grow a brain.  It would also help to shorten Jones' game up, as those deep patterns just aren't working for him.  And obviously, getting Abby and Monty back will help.

The rest is water under the bridge.  We need the passing game to improve or the Naysayers are going to be right as rain on our chances for the season.

So yeah, I'll have some of that popcorn.

He blatantly quit on a route in preseason that I thought might have had something to do with his release.  May not have meant anything but that just flashed in my mind when it was brought up.

Yeah poor choice of words on my part,  I meant as far as trying to get open after the play breaks down.  The current group needs to improve on that.  White may have chickened out on that one play, but overall the guy could get open, our biggest problem lately.

Overall I disagreed at the time, but I can't honestly fault the brass too much on going with who they did.  Injuries aren't foreseeable, and Janis should have worked his way onto the field by now.  He's really the guy that took the roster spot as a receiver and hasn't lived up to expectations.
