Elliott was inactive, I believe.  Isn't he recovering from a broken hand or something?

Yes.  They were talking about a club for him a couple weeks back but all went silent.

Speaking of clubs, rumor is Nick Perry's will get smaller or maybe even off this week. If that's true, that would be a yuuuge plus for the Packers rush D.

A good point by Bob:

SPECIAL TEAMS (3)

Michael is an accident waiting to happen on kickoff returns. Intelligence and stability are important qualities in that position. Michael muffed a catch Sunday, panicked and got out only to the 6. In previous games he has caught kickoffs above his head. It would be somewhat surprising if he plays again for the Packers. Something’s missing

Yep, McGinn said on his podcast last week that he has no trust in Michael and didn't understand why he was even on the roster. Problem, they are kinda stuck with him at this point, correct?

I don't think they're stuck WITH him, I think they're stuck WITHOUT him. There are only 1 to 2 games left, there's no time to train another RB. If Monty and/or Rip got hurt then our running game would be some combination of Cobb and Joe Kerridge. Michael isn't great, he probably shouldn't be on KR duty, but he's RB depth we need right now.

Seattle had him long enough. Cut him once, brought him back then cut him again.

There's a reason for that.  Although he is Seattles leading rusher this season. Which is kinda funny

He looked pretty good out of the backfield vs. the Giants. Guess he doesn't pick up blitzes very well either.

I do wonder, after the complete brain fart by Michael choosing to take it out of the EZ, if that put him in MM's doghouse. At that point in the game, the Packers had just scored TD's on 3 straight drives. That gaff by Michael killed the chance to score a 4th straight possession.

It was rather odd 32 didn't even get a sniff at RB.

Judging by how little they ran at all I don't think it was about Michael specifically, but rather a lack of commitment to the run game. I think they wanted to press the edges with Monty to keep this wide set Ends from teeing off, but beyond that I think McCarthy was content to push heavily on their pass D. I expect the same vs. Atlanta.

It's hard to get too down on Michael for that KR gaff.  The rule is the entire ball has to exit the EZ/goal line.  And at game speed, I don't know that anybody else would have done better - he was in a really tight spot.  Given his uncertainty of the exact location of the ball, it was the right decision.  Had he been wrong and stayed in the EZ it could have been 2 and DAL gets the ball back.  There are other reasons to be wary of him on the field but that KR should be low on the list.

I'm fairly certain CM3 is giving as much as he can with the bum shoulder.  Even if there has been zero re-injury or stress on it, it wasn't an injury that was going to heal in a couple weeks or even months.  He needs surgery.  Adjust your expectations.

Personally, I am not sure what the rules are with practice squad dudes, but the Pack does not have a RB on it currently:

Is it possible to pick someone up in the playoffs? Not saying they have to now but what if TMont and Michael go down? I suppose Starks may be an option as I don't see him on injured reserve.

EDIT: And of course, if they win...

Although I'm sure my search skills are lacking, it was hard to find a lot of in-depth info about Reggie playing with injuries.
SDPF, you were pretty close in your recollection. This was the best I could find:

Elbow Injury 1994 Season

It also explains a bit about his hamstring injury the following year which everyone remembers ("God healed me")

hey thanks, YA.  Yes, that was it.  The elbow injury....I just wasn't sure about the year.

Whatever their options would be in that situation, I'm sure it would be better than any option involving a guy they just picked up in the last 2 weeks.

Guys other than Michael

1. Monty

2. Cobb

3. Ripkowski

4. Kerrigan Kerridge

Or just drop all pretense and pass every time. If Michael is in, the play is either a run between the tackles or a play action off of him running between the tackles. He isn't going to pick up blitzes or run a screen.

Too bad for Michael. He has a great initial burst and decent speed for his size.

Sounds like you are describing Jeff Janis. Both appear to lack football instincts

Disagree somewhat since RB is almost all about football instinct and WR you have to read and recognize on nearly every down. Where Michael seems to be having trouble is getting AR's trust for pass protection. On true running plays he is exciting.

I think his issues in SEA and maybe DAL based on what I've read were that he wasn't keen on putting in the work to learn the pass protection. He just wants to RTFB!
