Interesting...

Man do the Packers have a type:

Matt LaFleur - 39 years old - Titans OC (1 year)

Mike McCarthy - 43 years old - 49ers OC (1 year)

Mike Sherman - 46 years old - Seahawks OC (1 year)

Mike Holmgren - 44 years old - 49ers OC (3 years)

(Yes I'm ignoring Ray Rhodes. Do not @ me.)

I really have no idea if Mayonnaise LaFluer (it will stick) is good or not.  I'm hoping he offsets how green he is by bringing in a OC who has some experience and success, maybe a guy like Mike McCarthy (who happens to be nickname proof).

Anyone have a clue what his sideline face is like?

LaFleur likes to and commits to, wait for it....

RFTB. Unlike McStubborn who talked about it, LaFleur will run the football.

He's also played QB. That's probably a bigger deal then we realize when it comes to Aaron.

Great news! People wanted a young innovator who would do things differently than MM, this is your guy. Not a retread. Good news that he’s keeping Pettine, now our guys get to build on what they accomplished and move forward. Coaches that favor one side or the other often fail because they don’t hire well for the opposite coordinator.

I’m excited to see where this team goes from here. The good news is that our team was incredibly dysfunctional and we still won basically 7 games, so solving the dysfunction and were right back in the playoff hunt. MFer is going to have some tools to work with!

Reading through the interwebs...

Falcons fans had positive things to say, saw a couple mention that they wanted him to replace Kyle Shanahan when he departed.

Titans fans? P-I-S-S-E-D. They were more angry that it means yet another OC for Mariota but still I haven't found anything that suggests anyone's happy about this move.

No, Into & under the Marianas Trench - I don't ever want to see that disgusting display of Special Teams ever again.

Load up.  Better be a busy offseason.  Really hope he can bring in solid assistants.

Obviously the Gase and McDaniels personalities weren't going to fly.  Not surprised when you have a highly intelligent QB running the offense.

Yep, the constant negative on both Gase and McDaniels was their  "my way or the highway" approach.  Given the muddled Packer chain of command, that would be a formula for backstabbing in an attempt for power over personnel decisions, etc.

I was ready to ride with McD, but I like this hire better.

Me too. I just couldn’t imagine Rodgers and McDaniels existing together in the same space. Who would be the adult?

My guess is that they think this guy will work WITH Rodgers instead of telling him how to play. Sounds like that was a big issue with MM, Rodgers wanted to do one thing and MM something different.
