TT cleaning house. I like it. More opportunities for the young guys to develop and contribute.
I wonder if we'll have the youngest roster in the NFL again this season?
This is always the common denominator in Green Bay- the young roster. But the youth doesn't mean as much as the quality. To put themselves back in the Super Bowl contenders category, they need 3-4 of these guys to hit and impact the team this season. Even 5.
That is Thompson's model- and if they're going to win another Superb Owl he has to hit more home runs than he has recently.

In order to have the youngest roster again you have to have had the youngest roster last year. Which GB didn't. And haven't for some time.
To get back in the SB they need to be healthy and not replace multiple starters with below average talent. Having healthy players at RB, CB, ILB, OLB, OG, and TE will make the biggest difference in the world. The biggest change TT has made is that he has brought in better depth at everywhere except RB.

Two of the past three NFC Title Games. They are in the Super Bowl contender quality today.
To win a SB:
1. Rollins and Randall need to improve. King should be given every opportunity to start however
2. Perry needs to earn his extension and stay on the field.
3. Clay needs to stay healthy.
4. Either Ryan or Martinez need to make the jump.
5. Evans needs to hold his water at RG.
6. At least two of the kids drafted at RB need to contribute. I like Williams but the general consensus is that Aaron Jones is the best RB drafted by GB.
7. Get contributions from Biegel and Josh Jones.
8. Adams is a pleasant surprise addition to the DL.
JMO.
9. Continued stellar kicking by Mason Crosby.
Good point.
I'd add, 10. Ted needs to continually turn the bottom of the roster over to find the best depth possible.
11. Get Dom out of the booth in the last minutes of the NFC Title Game

Except RB?
Well we have 3 rookies as depth, I wouldn't yet call that better depth. Time will tell.
Whether he starts or not, House will take snaps that would otherwise go to Goodson/Dorleant or someone of that caliber, that's a big improvement.
TE is obviously flush with proven depth.
OL has better depth than it did at the start of FA with Evans on board and Murphy full time (not TT's move though).

In order to have the youngest roster again you have to have had the youngest roster last year.
Nope. You only had to gave the youngest roster at least ONCE in order for it be "again".
Which GB didn't. (last year...yes, I know). And haven't for some time.
You are correct on this one CJ ol' boy. Good Job! However, we have been in the hunt for having the youngest roster many times during TT's reign.
No need to write a reply that that, CJ. Don't be another one of "those guys" on this board. Most all of your posts are insightful, informattive, and at times - humorous.
Those guys? You mean the ones that prove you wrong time after time?
yep.... been wrong many times.....and right many more times than that....I don't mind being corrected at all....when I'm wrong.
I think it breaks down to SDPF feels bad when he says dumb things and people point it out, and do we really want people to feel bad?
On the other hand, if you point out he said something dumb and he feels bad but you said it in a way that made a couple people laugh, isn't pointing out SDPF said something dumb really for the greater good?
Makes you think man, makes you think.
I like that there is going to be some competition going on in TC this year. There are jobs open and let's see who wants it bad enough to step up and contribute.
ah.... The Others.
Bottom line is that whoever ends up playing in the secondary has to play much better than those who played last season.
or be healthy
I would say the RB depth is better with 3 rookies than having Don and Christine as depth.
Randall and Rollins, when healthy, should be on the field a lot for the Packers this season. Both showed enough their rookie season for me to think that last years struggles were due to a combination of factors.
Sophomore slump / learning curve. Injuries. Losing Shields and not having a true #1 / vet leadership on the field.
A top 4 CB of Randall, Rollins, House, and King looks solid... at this point. Add in Gunter, Goodson, and even Hawkins and there is some raw talent, but enough talent that should provide good competition in camp and pre-season.
I might add that R&R need to step up and become leaders this year. We don't really have a solid vet at corner, so one of those guys has to step up.

And Jets didn't on the safety that went three picks earlier, Calvin Pryor. Remember quite the discussion over which was the better player; I'd say that one's pretty well been settled.

Shameful Otter Teething Dialoge.
After the Jets took Jamal Adams with the sixth overall pick and then Marcus Maye in the second, it's clear what they think of Pryor. Sounds like they tried to move him earlier.
Whatever happened to iowachez ?
He took some time off from the police force and X4 to campaign for Hillary. Last I heard he's still working for as her privates security.
I think he's a gay environmentalist now too.

Hateful.
He died in a donut shop fire.
Ironic, but still sad.

Mentoring? Shepherding? He's all in.
I hadn't realized how strong a season Kuhn had with the Saints. They're bringing him back.
12 years in the NFL. wow.
http://www.nola.com/saints/ind...ng_fullback_joh.html
YA, I think Rip is the better fullback but Kuhn is better at pass protection which NO needs for their QB. Rip is better at getting the one yard at the goaline.
I think that R&R will improve this year with health and infused speed at the positions. Jones will play ILB in the nickel and or dime, Monty will do better this year with experience and training and Aaron will have a ball playing with his new TE's.
Preseason will feature a lot of completion at backup QB
ChilliJon posted:Regarding ILB. I'd give Philly a call and ask what it would take to pry Mychal Kendricks away. They shopped him during the draft. He's been buried on the roster after Philly moved to Dick Schwarztz 4-3 defense.
GB is going to have more picks than they know what to do with in 2018. They will likely receive four comp picks. Two of those comp picks very likely will come in round three.
Philly may very well cut Kendricks at some point. But I have to think they'd consider a 4th or 5th for him.
You can trade comp picks now, correct? Maybe 2018 is the year we move up.
There have been rumors about Elvis D. to GB. I don't see it because he wants more than he is worth. However, I would not be surprised if TT picks up a OLB cut from another team. As you guys have noted that If we can pick up Kendricks for cheapish that would be a nice addition. So a prediction is that we pick up a veteran LB before the preseason starts.
EDIT: Competition for punter and Long-Snapper will go down to the wire eating up pages of local sports coverage.
Little update on Kendricks. If Philly trades Kendricks to any team prior to June 1st it triggers a $5 million cap hit for Philly in 2017.
If Philly trades him, or releases him on or after June 1st they incur a $1 million cap hit.
So unless a team is willing to help Philly with that cap hit (and no one will) expect the trade talks regarding Kendricks to pick up in a few weeks.
And absolutely no thanks to Elvis D. in Green Bay.
