He could replace Janis on special teams. If I'm the Pack, I use one of my late third round picks on the guy.

Janis gets a lot of flack, in today's Amerika not surprising really. Matthew Slater a pretty good specials team player, much like Janis, isn't much of a WR for New England.

Here's a weird scenario: Cleveland wants to load up on top-end talent. They take Barkley #1, a QB #4 and Josh Jackson, Calvin Ridley or another super prospect is there at 14. They offer Green Bay all three second-rounders (33, 35 and 64) in a trade. Do you take it?

nope finally get a chance at a blue-chipper (well the potential and odds are much better at 14), take the pick. ridley would be a beauty, or any one of the d players mentioned around our pick.  there is no doubt, with how qb's can be valued this draft, a great player will fall to us, we just have to make the pick and not get cute (try to fit a square peg in a round hole)

Interesting list. Either a sign Gute is willing to look at TEs higher in the draft or he's looking to restock WR. Or, does hardly any D players mean interviews are all a smoke screen? Oh, the intrigue!

If I can package a couple picks and get right back into the mid first round, yes.  You'd likely be able to hold onto one second rounder in that trade or get a 3rd in return as well.

Depends on how many QBs are off the board. If a lot are gone, that means more really good players at other positions fall into the start of the second round and with 33 and 35, you're going to get quality and quantity. One shot at 14-16 is still a crossed-fingers deal that single player will make a difference.

I wasn't going to mention this but now that 24/7 posted it....

I was watching the combine & liked Ian Thomas.

He'll be a nice sleeper when the Packers draft him

Of course a lot would depend on how things fall, but assume DJ Chark is the second rounder would you rather have say Marcus Davenport  or Leighton Vander Esch, Mike Gesicki and Quenton Meeks?

I’d give up a lot for Quenton Nelson. Just not enough to move up 7 spots. But he’s the missing piece of the puzzle. He’d make the entire interior OL better.

If he’s gone then it’s Ridley or Ward at 14. Josh Jackson’s 4.6 40 at the combine after a 4.49 is all you need to know about his drive.

Ridley in the slot is a great add provided they add a legitimate TE.

Awww c'mon!! Drafting BJ Sander in the 3rd round because other teams subterfuge him into thinking he'd go before their next pick, then keeping BJ on inactive because "someone has to be inactive".....We need to get back to those good times!

Christ....that's enough to drive me to drink, eat bath salts & turn into a purple people-y Viking fan

And cost about the same as Kyri Thornton, Abdul Hodge, Aaron Rouse and Kyler Fackrell.

All of whom actually PLAYED IN real NFL games.

Don't try & cover up that ridiculous move for a ****ing punter!! Gimme a break man. I don't care how much of a nice guy he is.

I wonder, probably wrongly, if Vita Vea's hamstring issue could make him slide in to the second round. The knock is he hasn't always been consistent and if his hammy keeps him from performing well at his pro day, could that be enough to take him down just enough?

There's a part of me that sees him as a bigger, faster Raji.

Sparq, or not, Ridley is the type of speedy WR we need. If OG Quentin Nelson is gone by 14, I'd go for Ridley, if he is available. If Ridley is gone, I'd look to S Derwin James or CB Denzel Ward.

I’m a big fan of Gesicki

Me, too.

Me three. But not at 14.

Highly doubtful he's there for us in the 2nd...there are other decent TE's in this draft, but he has separated himself from the others, and should be the first one off the board.
