King and Randall outside works for me. I'd like to see what a healthy Rollins can do too.

Don't underestimate Demarious Randall.
I'm also higher on Rollins than most folks are.
I'm hopeful the new defensive philosophy will really help out
Oh dang. Forgot about Randall. But if we got another young guy, it would help against injuries and for the future...
I don't think Jones is a true cb. Square peg round hole. Randall ideally in the slot but dbs rotate around so much these days it may not matter. Rollins had no speed to give so I'm not sure what is future is after a popped Achilles.
Yes, can never have too many DB's

I'm concerned he has some Fackrell in him. Landry is lean and he looked really soft against the run when I saw him. He definitely has a burst though.

I think he's a second round pick at best, but I could be wrong.. For that very reason.

Think pass rusher is a higher priority. Or talented TE
Ward's shorter than Randall and Rollins, who are both shorter than ideal already.
What if the guard Quenton Nelson from Notre Dame is there at 14? That would solidify the middle of the line for the next few years. BPA would definitely fit.
Not worth it to take a guard that high, especially when guard is likely in a comfortable place with Taylor signing his new deal and McCray likely taking over on the right side.If Murphy and Spriggs are coming along fine they may well look at a backup center on Day 3 but otherwise not really touch the line.
Nothing wrong with drafting a RT if a good one is sitting there. Bulaga ain't exactly the picture of health.

I'm not exactly in the Murphy/Spriggs corner either but who knows how the front office feels as they're a sunk cost.

I think Mike McGlinchey of Notre Dame would be a solid, NFL ready OT for us. If we go OT in the 1st round and picked McGlinchey, I 'd have no complaints. Connor Williams from Texas or Orlando Brown from Oklahoma would also be good choices, but of the 3, I like McGlinchey the best. I think one or maybe two, of these three may drop to the 2nd Round.
Well, at least I don't have to check out Harold Landry on YouTube. I now know for sure he can't play.

One of the biggest reasons why I'm excited for the DC change is sorting the talent. The current defensive player make up is like a ****ty, cheap ass box of chocolates. Sure, they all look like chocolate and there are some good ones in there but there's also the god damn orange cream and maple masquerading as edible.
Let's see a Harry and David's truffle defense with a few excellent pieces of candy accompanied by some healthy fruit.
Goodson is orange cream. Let's hope Rollins is caramel you didn't see in the corner.
I Gump'd the **** out of this post.

As you all know I live in O$U country and have the misfortune of seeing all of their games. I would stay away from him he is short and the O$U pass defense got consistently burned all year and Ward was as well.
I am with Mrtundra I think if you could get that OT from Notre Dame I wouldn't complain either. Bulaga has been great but is an injury waiting to happen unfortunately.

They need to suck it up on the Spriggs failure. I'd keep him as a back up for now and maybe he becomes serviceable but they have to get another legit tackle.
I don't classify Spriggs as a failure. At least not yet. Get healthy, get more snaps.
He started to repair his reputation....before he got hurt. Even OL sometimes need a few years before they figure out the pro game.

Probably for the best. I don't think you would know what you were looking at even if you did watch him.
To lose the field time he has, I'd give it another camp/season. He has shown improvement.

This coming from the genius who questioned J.J. Watt's ability to play in a certain scheme. But I'll give you this - you sure make it seem like you know what you're talking about. That's something.
Come on man, I expected a better comeback than that. You're slipping. At least you sarcastically called me genius, that's something.

I agree entirely. What will be interesting is if one of the top 2 consensus QBs (Darnold or Rosen) would fall to #14. It's very unlikely, but obviously no one thought Rodgers would fall to #24 in 2005.
There a lot of other parallels to 2005. You have a head coach at least a little bit on the hot seat who is now working with a new GM. Favre was 35 when they drafted Rodgers, Rodgers turns 35 later this year.
MM and Rodgers need Gutekunst to add some impact players now as their window is closing. But if TT would have had that same attitude in 2005, we'd have been much worse off in the long term (although Mike Sherman and Favre would have benefitted from adding a guy like Roddy White or Heath Miller in 2005- both were drafted within the next 6 picks after Rodgers).

The 2005 team still had sufficient talent to be a lot better than 4-12. I would argue there was just as much talent on that team as there was on the 2017 team.
QB: Favre
RB: Ahman Green coming off an 1100 yard season
WR: Driver was still in his prime
TE: Bubba Franks - not a superstar but a better version of RichRod
OL: Chad Clifton still in his prime at LT, Mark Tauscher at RT, they did let both Rivera and Wahle go after 2004 (not unlike the Sitton/Lang moves the last 2 years)
DL: Aaron Kampmann was Pro Bowl level. KGB was coming off a 13.5 sack year and would get another 8.5 in 2005. Cullen Jenkins was 24 years old.
LB: Nick Barnett was a good LB at this point.
CB: Al Harris was better than any CB we have now.
The main difference between 2004 and 2005 was how much Favre sucked in 2005. He was pissed off about drafting Rodgers and not doing anything to help the team in free agency that year and he played like it.
2004: Favre had 30 TDs and 17 interceptions.
2005: Favre had 20 TDs and 29 interceptions. 29!!
Ahman got hurt too, but if Favre would have played with any sort of discipline, there is no way that team should have won fewer than 8 or 9 games. Favre played like he didn't give a **** anymore.
Bringing in Adriam Klemm and Matt O'Dwyer to start at OG is a lot worse than Lane Taylor and Jahri Evans.

Javon Walker was another factor in that season. He had 1382 receiving yards and 12 TDs in 2004. Then he decided stage a holdout in training camp for more money, tore his ACL in week 1 at Detroit.
Antonio Chatman, Donald Driver, Javon Walker, Robert Ferguson, Taco Wallace, Rod Gardner, Chad Lucas, Andrae Thurman, Jamal Jones
Bubba Franks, Donald Lee, David Martin, Ben Steele, Troy Humphrey
Henderson, Najeh Davenport, Tony Fisher, Ahman Green, Samkon Gado, Noah Herron
Mike Hawkins, Al Harris, Joey Thomas, Ahmad Carroll, Collins, Mark Roman, Bigby, Marviel Underwood,
KGB, Kampman, Poppinga, Paris Lennon, Barnett, Na'il Diggs
I'll take the 2017 counterparts.
But samkon gado!
