From WalterFootball's underclassman declaration. For some reason, all this does is make me want BK to draft this guy in the 3rd round.

 J.J. Dallas, CB, Louisiana-Monroe
Height: 6-0. Weight: 198.
Projected 40 Time: 4.59.
Projected Round (2018): FA.

Load up those "Who the fook is that guy???" GIFs because we have our worst declaration yet. J.J. Dallas, whose name resembles that of a porno star, barely did anything at Louisiana-Monroe, logging a grand total of 16 tackles in 2017. People on Twitter are wishing him good luck at WalMart (seriously), so it's obvious that this was an abysmal decision.

Grade for declaring: F-

Maybe he can change his name from JJ Dallas to DD Dallas, as in Debbie Does... It would be further proof that he sucks! Here's hoping we see him in purple next season.

I agree with Gravedigger about ARog and retiring if he wins another Super-Bowl.  In my lifetime Rodgers is the most gifted passer I have ever seen- including Tittle, Unitas, Marino, and Brady.  His mobility and ability throw accurately from any angle and body position make him a standalone at that positon. Every time I see Rodgers in his element I think Elgin Baylor or Oscar Robertson  I also suspect he has other interests in life and when he retires he will disappear into a life no one ever suspected, so enjoy the artist while he is here!

First senior citizen to play in the NFL?

I know that the underwear Olympics' haven't even occurred yet and the latest Mike Mamula is yet to be unearthed as of this moment but I have looked at what most feel are the top 50 players in this years draft and in laser focus with the top 30. I think it is likely that 3 QB's could be gone top 10, a case could be made for 4 but I just think 3.  The Kirk Cousins situation will alter this dynamic but in either case this leaves 10 position players who will be selected prior to the newest GB Packer getting his "G" .

Now I have said that if he runs well I like Josh Jackson to be that guy but if the top 2 pass rushers go off the board and the top2 corners go off the board I hope GB fixes the RT position.   Now of the big names- I don't know about Connor Williams he gets a lot of hype and I think Mcglinchney (from ND) can play but if GB drafts a RT I am hoping that it is Orlando Brown Jr.  I saw his father play and he looks eerily like his father.  His daddy was a dominant run blocker who could engulf small pass rushers, he had slow feet but Bulalga had a career with those same traits.  I also suspect that after the UW  Olympics he will rise far past GB and push another player down but if the top 5 defensive positions are off the board he would be my guy.

IDK,  I think about 10,000 Packer fans got a pointy thing in their pants when they saw Davenports measurable but I just don't know  how to evaluate the tape of him killing LT's from Home Depot Tech or Lowes U!!  He looks like a stud but I am apprehensive of this situation.  If he shows well on the bigger stage I don't how you pass him by but you need to be really certain in your evaluation!

A good oline player can be had in later rounds. Edge rusher and CB not so much.

It's time for the new front office to step up and do what they keep ignoring.

1. Draft an OL in the first round and keep Rodgers healthy into his 40s.

2. Fill the defense in free agency.

Yea, it's expensive. Yea, it causes cap problems. But, we have plenty of dead cap space on our roster we can "deal" with.

White

Dotson

Pickett

Woodson

Do those Super Bowl winning defensive free agent Packers names ring a bell to anyone? Pay for proven talent on D instead of this draft and release develop mentality that has squandered some amazing quarterback plays over the last number of seasons.

I’m on board with this. OT must be addressed. G depth emerged with Patrick and McCray, but the Spriggs issues and Murphy and Bulaga  coming off injury means they need to avoid another OL crisis. Protecting Rodgers needs to be addressed as much as the defense.

GB seems to have most success taking mid-round OL. We're 1 for 5 with taking OL in the first 3 rounds...Bulaga has been good, but Sherrod, Colledge, Spitz, and Spriggs have all been somewhere on the scale of bad to average. We've nabbed some good OL in the mid-rounds...Bakh, Sitton, Lang, Linsley, and Tretter are all good players we found in the 4th or 5th. McCray and Patrick both seem like they could be good OG's if they get more game experience, we could probably use some depth behind Linsley and Lang though. I'm also interested to see what Murphy does with another offseason. He did enough in hist first action and then got worked over at LT against Cincy, definitely don't think LT in his future, but he may have a future at RT.

GD: I do not disagree about Packers  OLine success in the mid rounds but most of that talent took time to develop and while there is no cliff for AR he is one injury away and I would like to help keep that at bay!  Nothing in life is guaranteed and I agree the recent higher OL  picks haven't worked out but I will say and wrote it at the time I never liked Sherrod's game.  He spent most of his college career in a two point stance!  I have seen Orlando Brown many times in a traditional 3 point stance and he did not look uncomfortable and his power game is light years ahead of Sherrod and and Mcglinctney (this year) as well.  I do not know enough about the others to really comment (yet) and do not see another OT I would take at that spot!  I also did not advocate only a tackle at 14  if the shelf has been picked over at CB and Pass rusher I would rather have the top RT than the 3rd best at another position.

I also don't disagree about Murphy possibly being OK at RT but the issue is he required help (TE) in pass pro.  Might be  liability that the coaching staff is willing to live with and may have to if a defensive player is there but for me a soul crushing offense mitigates some defensive flaws .

I personally would still go hard after an edge rusher at #14 (assuming they stay at 14) that is very strong glaring need for the Packers.  I also believe ILB/CB is still something they need to address as well.

I am a big fan of Orlando Brown the dude is huge and would be a solid pick becaue he comes form an offense that not requires run and pass blocking.  And like you said Pack88 he has worked out of the 3 point stance.    Why is that important? because in the NFL the game is different and yes they spend time in a 2 point stance but unlike college you have to put your hand in the dirt and drive.  But that being said I sure wouldn't be disappointed with Mcglinctney at all that guy is a beast.

Bakh and Linsley started year 1, Sitton stepped in year 2, Lang year 3. I don't think there has to be a delay. Even if there is I think McCray or Patrick could do fine at RG. I think common element with all of them is that that they all had some kind of physical measurement that pushed them down, but they all have enough physical ability (or room to improve) and have the real talent between the ears. That's true of Lane Taylor as well. Spriggs has the opposite issue. Rodgers injury wasn't because of an OL screw up, it was a freak accident on a QB scramble. We can get by with Bulaga another year, but it might be prudent for Gut to find a veteran backup OT. We have some depth at OG, need some depth at C, so we could probably stand to spend a mid-rounder on an interior utility player.

To me, FS, CB, and pass rusher are more urgent. An elite ILB next to Martinez would be hard to pass up, especially with what we've seen in the past with Pettine's defense. He needs reliable players at ILB...he had Bart Scott/Ray Lewis in BAL and Bart Scott/David Harris in NYJ and Karlos Dansby in CLE. Martinez can do the dirty work, he's a grinder, but we need an elite player to clean up.

Boo-lager ain't getting any younger...if the guy is anything like his father he'd be a nice addition to the line. Kid is massive, and moves really well for his size.

I have a feeling he's going to really rocket up the boards out of our reach.
