The west may look like the old Black & Blue north. Rams, Seahawks, and cardinals all with above average qb’s and SF getting it’s defensive players back from injury.

And SF is going to make a move at QB.  Not sure who that will be now that Stafford is in LA but I think they're gonna deal.  May even be in a good enough draft position to get one of the second tier guys or someone undervalued.

I have stopped even thinking about the crap Florio throws against the wall to see what sticks.  He is a spermhead fan and will stir whatever he can up to create drama for GB.

I rolled my eyes at his headline.  Henry, like you said I bet GMs are calling each other all the time to see if a deal can be made.  That's the general job description of a GM to see what could be out there.

Les Snead is the new Rick Spielman.  Guy spends money like a drunken sailor and makes ridiculous trades and is constantly promoting how good his moves are and how their team is right on the cusp of greatness.

I literally LMFAO when I heard they contacted the Packers about Rodgers.  I mean, I get it.  GMs talk shop with other teams all the time. But to make things this public?   I mean, that’s amateur hour nonsense.  Who’s advising Les Snead?  Jim Tomasula?

Detroit got over big time on that trade.  Then again, it’s become common practice dealing with Les Snead and agents must love the guy.  β€œMy client is worth XX” and LS must be like β€œOK let’s double the offer, done!!”

Hell, if I’m Gute and Murphy I would have said β€œgive us your next 10 1st rounders and controlling equity in the Rams franchise” and Snead may have jumped at it.

Internal consistency was never a theme for the ole gunslinger

If Watson would have held a tearful retirement press conference after saying he was thinking of retiring for about 5 years.  Then, 5 months later decide to unretire during training camp and be told he was welcome on the team but he'd be a backup and then demand a trade, I guess it would have been fine.

IIRC correctly, the Jets also have a lot of cap room. They rolled over nearly 26 million in unused cap dollars this year alone.

If they get Watson, sign Aaron Jones and say WR Allen Robinson, Watson has an instantly productive offense along with a decent WR in J. Crowder.

In short, they have a lot of money to instantly upgrade the offense.

Assuming Watson gets to the Jets, it would more than likely be via a trade - not free agency.  Shouldn't there be a "2021 NFL TRADES" thread?  Not that GB participates or anything ............

And once the Watson trade happens, the thread would give a place for the "why didn't GB trade for Watson" people to vent.

Interesting discussion of whether you'd want to trade Rodgers for Watson straight up if you were Green Bay (it's obviously a moot point, but would you do it if the Texans offered?).

Whoever gets Watson is going to get 8-10 years of Top 5 NFL QB play.

With the cap the way it is, Green Bay can't trade for anyone. But if the cap gets adjusted to open some things up, what would you trade for JJ Watt? His cap charge is 17.5 million next year and the Texans could waive or trade him and have no dead cap charges, so he's one of the most tradeable contracts in the NFL.

Exactly! TOG is a fucking hypocrite.

What the hell does this even mean?

β€œI think we make too much money to voice an opinion, but I’m not saying he’s wrong,” Favre said.

Says the guy that made too much money and had an opinion on everything.

Remember when Javon Walker was trying to get a new contract and Favre (the only guy at the time to have a $100 million contract) thought it was his job to criticize how Walker was handling his situation?
