Dorsey will probably do just fine with them. He'll be aggressive.
The lions have basically just hired the new Matt Patricia, havenβt they?

And SF is going to make a move at QB. Not sure who that will be now that Stafford is in LA but I think they're gonna deal. May even be in a good enough draft position to get one of the second tier guys or someone undervalued.
Happy to see Stafford out of the NFCN. I think he's extremely underrated as a QB. I can see why LA chose to make the move, they are basically one piece away from a SB run and that piece is QB. Goff is horrible.
Gotta think there are going to be some teams really messed up with the cap in a couple of years. Tread wisely.
If you believe internet numbers 1/2 the league is under water.

NBC Sports: Report: Rams made a run at Aaron Rodgers.
Florio's editorializing is nauseating. It's more about his bullshit take than the actual headline.
The other thing is I remember an article about GMing in general where GMs constantly call each other feeling each other out even on the most absurd offers.
Per the reports out of LA, the Packers "were adamant" they were not going to trade Aaron Rodgers.
And for anyone thinking GB would trade him to an NFC team, literally no one not taking copious amounts of drugs would actually believe that.
I am not even sure a Herschel Walker trade would have even done it.
I have stopped even thinking about the crap Florio throws against the wall to see what sticks. He is a spermhead fan and will stir whatever he can up to create drama for GB.
I rolled my eyes at his headline. Henry, like you said I bet GMs are calling each other all the time to see if a deal can be made. That's the general job description of a GM to see what could be out there.
"Making a run" was nothing more than a simple inquiry.
Got you dum dums to post and click a link. Mission accomplished
Les Snead is the new Rick Spielman. Guy spends money like a drunken sailor and makes ridiculous trades and is constantly promoting how good his moves are and how their team is right on the cusp of greatness.
I literally LMFAO when I heard they contacted the Packers about Rodgers. I mean, I get it. GMs talk shop with other teams all the time. But to make things this public? I mean, thatβs amateur hour nonsense. Whoβs advising Les Snead? Jim Tomasula?
Detroit got over big time on that trade. Then again, itβs become common practice dealing with Les Snead and agents must love the guy. βMy client is worth XXβ and LS must be like βOK letβs double the offer, done!!β
Hell, if Iβm Gute and Murphy I would have said βgive us your next 10 1st rounders and controlling equity in the Rams franchiseβ and Snead may have jumped at it.
The leaked report could've very easily come from the Packers org - perfect opportunity to reiterate what me Murphy said about not parting ways with AR. This time they get to say they were adamant about not trading him.
Regarding the report that the Rams made a run at Rodgers, Gutey said in his presser "There's no truth to that whatsoever".

If Watson would have held a tearful retirement press conference after saying he was thinking of retiring for about 5 years. Then, 5 months later decide to unretire during training camp and be told he was welcome on the team but he'd be a backup and then demand a trade, I guess it would have been fine.
Watson WANTS to go to the Jets???

IIRC correctly, the Jets also have a lot of cap room. They rolled over nearly 26 million in unused cap dollars this year alone.
If they get Watson, sign Aaron Jones and say WR Allen Robinson, Watson has an instantly productive offense along with a decent WR in J. Crowder.
In short, they have a lot of money to instantly upgrade the offense.
Good points. I just never think of wanting to go to the Jets!
So glad Brent was able to weigh in on this matter. I mean, itβs not like he forced his way out of Green Bay or anything.
Assuming Watson gets to the Jets, it would more than likely be via a trade - not free agency. Shouldn't there be a "2021 NFL TRADES" thread? Not that GB participates or anything ............
And once the Watson trade happens, the thread would give a place for the "why didn't GB trade for Watson" people to vent.
There's a general offseason thread. But seriously if Houston trades Watson, perhaps maybe they want a young gunslinger who is younger than some of the draft eligible QBs and has spent a year being mentored by Aaron Rodgers. Maybe they would be willing to throw an early first at us for him...
In what year would that first be?

Interesting discussion of whether you'd want to trade Rodgers for Watson straight up if you were Green Bay (it's obviously a moot point, but would you do it if the Texans offered?).
Whoever gets Watson is going to get 8-10 years of Top 5 NFL QB play.
With the cap the way it is, Green Bay can't trade for anyone. But if the cap gets adjusted to open some things up, what would you trade for JJ Watt? His cap charge is 17.5 million next year and the Texans could waive or trade him and have no dead cap charges, so he's one of the most tradeable contracts in the NFL.
If the cap stays about the same or goes up the Packers will have some options to sign or add or trade for players. They free up 8MM instantly by releasing Preston Smith. Another 5MM if they release Kirksey and almost another 8MM combined by cutting Wagner and Lowry loose.

Says the guy that made too much money and had an opinion on everything.
Remember when Javon Walker was trying to get a new contract and Favre (the only guy at the time to have a $100 million contract) thought it was his job to criticize how Walker was handling his situation?
We lost Walker because of that mess.

Honestly, depending how this Watson situation plays out, theyβre going to be crap for a while and have early picks for a while. Any year will do.
Conversely, the Texans are going to bottom out with no resources to rebuild.

But I still got my Javon Walker replica jersey from TAFKATD.
I was rewatching the Bengals-Green Bay game from 1992 when Majik got hurt. You know who took him out? Former Badger Tim Krumrie. Once WI, always WI.

sounds like there will be a good market for Jones. Steelers, Dolphins, 49ers, among others. Might indicate no βhometown discount.β
