After watching the Viking game yesterday I think we should trade Love for a boat load of picks and get MM to trade Cooper Rush to us. He was rustier than the Tin Man and still put on a pro performance.
Rams trying to load up
@AdamSchefter: Blockbuster: Broncos are finalizing a trade to send eight-time Pro Bowl linebacker Von Miller to the Los Angeles Rams in exchange for two second-day 2022 draft picks, league sources tell ESPN.
Miller is now saying his goodbyes to his friends in the Broncosβ training facility.
Wow. Donald, Floyd, and Miller together. Not good for the NFC.
Donβt forget Ramseyβ¦ assuming heβs healthy.
Broncos going all βoutβ.
@Henry posted:By a boatload of picks do you mean maybe a second rounder?
If they were lucky, they'd get this. Hopefully Love takes a leap after this year and looks good next pre-season (whether Rodgers is here or not).
I don't think the Packers have the cap room to make any Von Miller type trades.
Unless it's a street FA or practice squad guy, there won't be any moves.
But I'm OK with that given the boatload of tallant set to come back soon...69, 23, 55, 83...
Trade value on Nub is very low right now because trading him this soon smells of desperation. And he has no body of work with which to make him marketable like Aaron Brooks did as a pre-season all-star.
Unless a GM is completely over the moon for #10, the Packers would be lucky to get a 2nd for him, much less multiple picks.
All of that aside, I don't think Gunt's ego would let him trade #10 right now.
Get DT Shelby Miller from the Broncos, but make it a 3rd rather than one of our 2 4ths since we seem to do so much better in round 4 than round 3.
Fuckin' Florio...
The Von Miller trade is a prime example of the difference between the Rams and the Vikings. While Minnesota dog paddles, L.A. does cannonballs.

holy crap. rams just became tougher...i mean they still have paddington statford in charge...i wouldn't touch him with a 10' pole...they gave him the keys to the whole thing...i am telling you - the sb this year will be the NFC championship game.
You're an idiot if you think Stafford isn't good enough to lead that team to a Super Bowl. Goff did it and we see what he's like as the Lions QB now. The Rams simply get better with the trade, but they need to win now because they likely won't have any picks until the end of the 4th round next year.
i thought when I planned to see the Rams game with my grandson it would be a great game. Now it looks like it be the game so see who is the number 1 seed in the NFC. I can't wait.
@NFLonCBS: The Rams have just about traded their entire 2022 Draft away.
Picks Traded:
1st: sent to DET (M. Stafford)
2nd: sent to DEN (V. Miller)
3rd: sent to DEN (V. Miller)
4th: sent to HOU (B. Cooks)
6th: sent to NE (S. Michel)
Picks owned:
3rd (compensatory), 5th, 7th, 7th
Do the Titans trade for Melvin Gordon now that the Broncos are stockpiling picks? Saints try to trade for Bridgewater?
With Hunter going down and the team at 3-4 the Vikings could go into trade mode, except they don't have any pending free agents worth trading for except maybe Barr.

Stafford is an excellent QB. Easily top 10 if not top 5 in the league. The one stretch he had a competent head coach at Detroit he went 36-28 as a starter with two playoff appearances. Then, the Lions' "braintrust" decided that Jim Caldwell was holding back the rest of the front office leadership and fired him to move on to Matt Patricia.

If it works and they win a SB, ala what the Donkeys did with getting Manning, then maybe it's worth it.
But look what happened once Manning left and the Broncos were depleted in draft capitol and in $$. They went years where they sucked.
And that's likely where the Rams will be even if they win it this year. You can't give away that kind of draft volume and not pay the price.
Hell the Bears in many ways are also paying that price for the Mack trade and soon for moving up to get Fields. For Fields alone, they gave up their 20th, a 2022 1st, and then a 4th and 5th.
Teams just can't make these mega trades or move up and give up a shit ton hoping they win it all.
With Stafford, and I am not cheering or hoping for injuries, watch for his health around week 12ish. That is almost always when a shoulder, a chest/rib, or some other injury happens with him and he wears down or he's not nearly 100%.
In the last 3 years:
Nov 3, 2019 | NFL | Back Tailbone Fracture | Matthew Stafford ended his season due to the fractured bones in his back in Week 9 game vs. the Raiders |
Nov 15, 2020 | NFL | Hand Thumb Torn Ligament | Stafford suffered a partial tear in a ligament in his right thumb during the win vs. Washington. He played through the injury in the next games |
Dec 13, 2020 | NFL | Chest Rib Sprain/Pull Unspecified | Stafford injured his ribs during the teamβs Week 14 loss to the Packers. He didn't miss any game |
Dec 26, 2020 | NFL | Pedal Ankle Sprain/Pull Unspecified Grade 1 | Stafford suffers ankle injury in Lions' loss to Bucs. He was available for the season finale. |
Aug 2, 2021 | NFL | Hand Thumb Sprain | Stafford hit his right thumb on a teammate's helmet during practice and was shut down from throwing for the rest of the day. |
With Denverβs roster over the last six years they may been ok if it wasnβt for this.
2016 | Trevor Siemian (14) / Paxton Lynch (2) |
2017 | Trevor Siemian (10) / Brock Osweiler (4) / Paxton Lynch (2) |
2018 | Case Keenum (16) |
2019 | Joe Flacco (8) / Drew Lock (5) / Brandon Allen (3) |
2020 | Drew Lock (13) / Jeff Driskel (1) / Brett Rypien (1) / Kendall Hinton (1)* |
2021 | Teddy Bridgewater (5) |

Bridgewater is a good fit for that check down offense that New Orleans seems to be stuck in even with Brees retired. How about signing Scam Newton?
On cap space, Over The Cap still has the Packers at just over $5 million available. The Mercilus deal didn't even crack the top 51. What a deal!
Matt LaFleur on #Packers entering Tuesday's trade deadline: "If the right opportunity presents itself, I think that's something we can be involved with. I know Gutey and his staff are working very hard to find something. It just depends on whether the right opportunity exists."

The Rams don't have cap room either. The Broncos are eating all but about a half-million of his contract.

Much more likely Gutey won't make the trade because he believes in the player and still thinks he represents the future at QB. Really no reason to believe trading Love is something they're even remotely interested in doing.
Colts release Brett Hundley.
Now we donβt have to trade for him!
MM is having the vapors
Some rumors floating around on sports radio that the Packers may bring back Devin Funchess. A very underwhelming move should they do it. He's been sitting at home with no interest from any NFL team. His hamstring injury has apparently healed a long time ago so he's been healthy at home watching games.
Huh, isn't there some formula (number of weeks of injury settlement pay plus X number of weeks) before a guy can re-sign with his original team after something like this?
Found the figure, it's six weeks plus the terms of the settlement. I'd think he wouldn't be able to return to GB until late in the season.
