Now the Packers locker room wanting him is another story. Wouldn’t shock me if they’d welcome him, but how he’d actually fit in is what I’d question. A lot of unselfish dudes in there like Lazard who are content blocking their asses off so other guys get their yards etc.

Locker room will be fine after he fixes the hole he punched in it at halftime of that playoff game.

I don't see OBJ as a Rison type. Bad Moon had an attitude problem, true. But he also had that almost counter culture "FU, I'll show you" intangible that Beckham has never shown a hint of possessing. GB was fortunate to be able to tap into that for a limited time and it worked. Beckham is soft in general, but much more so when compared to Andre Rison.

The case for opening things up for everyone isn't a bad case, but it depends on too many things that would have to go right. Any one wrench in the works would blow it up.

You're making a good argument for it.  He is such a douche, though.  Combined with 12, it might give us the douchiest team in the NFL, especially now that the Raiders have cut Ruggs and Arnette.  What a "killer" draft that was!

If you going to go all-in just go all-in.

Rodgers, OBJ, Z. Smith.

Rison was close to (could have/should have been?) a million dollar receiver on the field, but he had a ten cent head off it. His off-field troubles kept him from realizing his true potential.
For everything he went through, though, I like that he caught a TD pass in a Superb Owl. I think he could've done well in Green Bay, assuming he could get some stability in his life, but I guess Wolf didn't want to take any chances.
JMHO.

Bucs made a similar signing last year when they brought in Antonio Brown. I think that's the better comparison. Brown was arguably more of a headcase, but he's been fine since he arrived in Tampa. He played a big role in their Super Bowl run (6 TDs in their last 6 games - regular season and postseason).

I'm not a fan, but on a team like the Packers I think it could work. We've got a All-Pro QB to get him the ball, a All-Pro WR to play next to him, and plenty of veteran leadership to keep him in line. If we can get him for close to the minimum, I don't think there's much risk.

I would be in favor of making the move.

Maybe it is a better comparison. One big red flag for me is how Beckham orchestrates these exits. For all the people who say he's kept his mouth shut since he's been in Cleveland, he still felt some need to blow it all up on his way out by trying a second time to throw his qb under the bus. I think the more important question if I'm dumb gunt and company is whether we want the theatrics and drama that comes with whatever help he could provide in winning games. This team needs to get over the hump that submarined them for two straight years. The locker room from what we know is pretty tight. Is another potentially damning distraction what they need? It would potentially put an end to the all-in debate, so there's that.

Y’all have made great points, for and against.  My original thoughts were “meh.” But what the hell, if we’re going all in, WTF. Sign his ass.  Reports are that we’re in the front running.  Team players seem in support.  Fuck it, let’s do it and see what happens.

Great job, AR, on your comments on the show today.  You apologized, no further comment, let’s Go!”

No he didn’t. I’m certainly not saying he should or shouldn’t have. I’m just stating the facts.

Agree it’s time to move on though.

AGREE IT’S TIME TO DAMN WELL MOVE ON.  ♥️ 💚 💛

Per source, at this point in time, Odell Beckham Jr. still would prefer to sign with the #Packers. However, Green Bay’s front office has not been as aggressive as others. They do have interest though. If they come through with competitive offer, Beckham will likely sign with GB.

Even if we signed OBJ, the Packers would have to save some room beneath the cap just in case additional issues arise (e.g., injuries) and they find themselves having to sign another vet to fill a spot. If OBJ can't sign for something around the minimum, we may simply not have the ability to get him. That's unfortunate, but that's the reality.

Mary Kay Cabot of cleveland.com wrote about OBJs latest injury. A snippet of her article:

“A Grade 3 AC joint sprain or shoulder separation can heal on its own, but sometimes requires surgery. In Beckham’s case, he hopes to play it through and possibly have it repaired after the season. But if he tries to play through it, he’ll be dealing with the pain and possible reinjury for the remainder of the season and playoffs.”

I guess I’d have to say “pass”.

Listening to NFL radio the other day ...I think it was Brady Quinn who said he thinks the OBJ has lost some of his burst?

It’s barely been a year since he tore his ACL. He’ll never return to his salad days of 2014-16, unfortunately. Injuries have absolutely killed him.

To me, OBJ is a guy whose reputation was built on some circus catches made early in his career.  He has never been a consistently productive receiver in the class of Davante or Deondre Hopkins.  He hasn't had more than 77 catches or 6 TDs since 2016....and those are not necessarily bad numbers, but certainly not those of a #1 receiver like he (and his father) views himself.  Now, he has trouble even staying on the field.  He would be the Kevin King of the offense.

Yeah, that's part of the problem. Everyone saw how Rodgers got his way with Cobb and by criticizing the FO, and now everyone wants in on the action. Players openly saying to sign OBJ... the FO is now in a bind. They have to consider where does Rodgers stand given the stink he made last summer. What if they don't consult him -- does he get PO'd again? How do the rest of the receivers really feel about signing OBJ? What does Adams think about him since Adams will probably get fewer passes thrown his way and he's in a contract year?

When I step back and look at this, I feel like it could very well -- it probably is already behind the scenes -- be a real disruption.

I'm leaning towards GB as a pawn to get other teams with cap room as a way to up their offer.

Per latest reports on AM1250, OBJ is down to 3 teams he's considering:

#Chiefs

#Saints

And .....#Packers

if he is serious, he knows where we are.  the only team out of those 3 with a hope is yours truly.  gutey is trying to get one of those min wage deals...and if he doesn't - shame, on to seachickens.  we need some cap for injuries...if he wants to win, here's your chance...also i see it taking 4 weeks to get him up to speed, he's not a pass rusher like 50 - can come in and start breaking the doors down.

Go to the Chefs...won't make Mahomie any more accurate.

Go to the Aints and catch passes from ???

TBH, I think OBJ would give his left nut to be a Packer...but I am not convinced either of our GM's are that convinced he's the extra sauce this offense needs.

One other thing to consider...per a beat writer for the Browns, OBJ also has a grade 3 AC separation he's been playing with. Apparently it needs surgery but he's been playing with it all year. So, you would also be getting a less then 100 percent OBJ.

That might be a factor for GB too...

Stats look much different when 12 is your QB. Devonte Adams agrees.

If OBJ wants a legit shot at a ring he will play ball in GB. If he’s looking for the highest bidder he will play elsewhere.

I hope he chooses a ring. Nobody is going to walk into GBs locker room with the talent/leaders they have and cause a disruption.
