Interesting observation from Ben Fennel (who knows his football pretty damn well):

I bet JohnnyZ wants to marry this guy

I keep wondering if they’re going to part ways with Kenny Clark after this season. He turns 30 this season and has a lot of mileage (along with a contract out after this season) , and he did have kind of a down year last season, but every time I look at a first-round DT like Grant I almost feel, I don’t know how to describe it, guilty(?), like I’m unfairly predicting his playing demise, or something. Guy’s been a mainstay on the D-line since he was 20.

They have to address the position whether it's one year or two years for KC. No idea if they are re-signing Slaton either. And it's a very deep interior DL class. They would be foolish not to get at least one if not two.

True, I just wonder if they’d go for more of a pass rushing tackle around 300# (like Walter Nolan) rather than a 315#+ NT. Then again, Grant and Harmon are probably better prospects overall, regardless.

Also, Wyatt and Brooks kind of fill that role. The funny thing is Wyatt is only 2 1/2 years younger than Clark.

They need interior pass rush more than a hogger. If Grant falls, wouldn't be shocked if he's the pick. Don't think he will be there. As far as edge does, Ezieuaraku (sp) helped himself at the combine a lot. He will likely be gone too.

This one turned out interesting:

Trade back offer from Chiefs to get an extra #2.

1. Get a potential alpha press corner (though can play other techniques, as well) who's only 20 years old.

2. Jumbo defensive end that Gutekunst seems to prefer.

3. Potential #1 WR, even though not a deep speed guy.

4. Zach Tom-type OL who's good, very versatile but could use some weight.

5. Another potentially very good press corner. 2023 was better than 2024.

6. Big, athletic DT who can line up at either tackle spot.

8. Center with quick hands, recognizes defenses and has also played tackle and guard.

9. Late-round deep speed guy with questionable hands, a Gutekunst special.
