I give Hester $1 million to return punts & kicks. $4 Million? No way!
Hester visited the Falcons. The Falcons signed Javier Arenas instead. Hester allegedly thinks he is the best player in the league. He may take a while to sign.

I keep wanting to call him Abby Dalton.
I like the Starks signing. Bummed about James Jones though. It takes time to develop a WR; especially the timing with the qb. And remember that Cobb was hurt just before the playoffs. How do we know he's 100% next year? And I'm not counting on Finley. That leaves us with Jordy, who's great, but we need more weapons than that. Maybe we didn't have the money to pay what the Raiders paid for JJ, but if we did, I would have liked to have seen us make the offer. Boykin looks okay, but none of us knows if he's going to be as good as the starters we've had. Just too early to say, imho.
Cobb, Jordy, Boykin, WR draft depth all say the right move is to move on and bank those dollars for Cobb and Jordy contracts.
Not sure what this means.
I think the light bulb finally turned on....
I wonder if he can "act" like a good father for his children?
I'd like to hear more of this "acting thing". It sounds enriching and theatrical.
Finley would be a great Seahawk... flap-flap-flap-flap.
Shut. The. ****. Up.

Didn't Cobb come back just before the playoffs? Looked fine against the Bears.

RW - I can appreciate your concern, but when you consider how conservative the Packers appear to be with injuries do you honestly believe Cobb isn't 100% ? As GBFL said, Cobb looked good vs CHI the last week of the reg. season.
I used to follow YOTTO and his wife on Twitter...stopped after a while because it was the same self-absorbed drivel. Talk about two people who are in love with themselves...
Same here.
I used to follow people on twitter, then I realized twitter is stupid
Hey, don't blame Twitter for the tweeter!
Personally, the only time I ever see a tweet is when it's on X4.
Details on Starks' contract -- sounds good.
@BobMcGinn: #Packers made commitment to James Starks as Eddie Lacy's backup. His 2-year, $3.166M deal has $725,000 in guaranteed money. '14 cap: $1.37M.
That was the perfect role for Starks. He can come in fresh after the defense is worn down and just finish them off. When is the last time we saw a RB duo this good or better in GB? Green/Davenport? Levens/Bennett?
Brockington/Lane
They got the Packers into the playoffs with Scott freakin Hunter at QB, that's no easy feat.
And don't forget Chester Marcol, he had a little bit to do with them reaching the playoffs.
Levens/Bennett would seem like the more appropriate comparison for RB tandem in today's passing league, but Lacy/Starks have more of a Brockington/Lane power running look IMO.
Regardless, gotta agree with GD on the 1-2 punch Lacy/Starks will be delivering to defenses.
I sure hope Thompson and McCarthy are right with regards to Tretter.

I think we can all agree Jeff Saturday was pretty terrible in 2012...had some okay games in pass pro, but never once showed anything respectable as a run blocker. They were still 10-4 with Saturday starting at Center. Beyond making the correct protection calls and snapping the ball correctly, there's not much the Center can do that can't be hidden by 2 Pro Bowl Guards and an All-Pro QB.
There were serious doubts as to Starks even making the cut until Harris went out for the year. All indications are that he and Lacy have a very good relationship and it's really the perfect situation for him. It's a crowded backfield and it'll be interesting to see how it all shakes out in camp next year.
"I sure hope Thompson and McCarthy are right with regards to Tretter. "
EDS's success in the run game was due in large part to playing next to Lang and Sitton. The kid just needs to be able to stand up in pass pro and pick up stunts / blitzes and we should be fine. Easier said then done, but you have to assume a Cornell grad can catch on.
I sure hope Thompson and McCarthy are right with regards to Tretter.
They need depth on the interior overall. Tampa signed the Packers backup so they just need to look for another journeyman for the interior.
Just read a point I hadn't considered yet in a GBPG article on the signing - that kind of money for a back carrying it 7 times a game could mean that Harris and/or Franklin are no locks to start the year. Harris is coming off a torn MCL and I still never really found out what happened to Franklin.
Have to think both will be in the picture at some point if not Week 1, and it's reassuring to know the team will be in great hands until the full stable is ready to roll.
GD, doesn't the Center also have to make the right calls with regards to run blocking, not just pass pro? Sounds like McCarthy gives Rodgers run/pass options on nearly every down, so it's not just about making the block, but making all the calls, right? Tretter is bigger than EDS so I'll assume he can handle the physical aspects, and being an Ivy leaguer we can assume he's smert, so I just hope they are correct with his abilities across the board.
It is, but again having 2 savvy Pro Bowl Guards next to him and a savvy QB will help with making the right calls. A redshirt freshman Center isn't going to shoulder 100% of the offense immediately like he's Matt Birk.
Rookies can start at C and be very successful. Travis Frederick comes to mind. Tretter isn't a rookie, and he's a smert kid (Cornell)...if MM has faith in him, honestly, he cannot be worse than EDS.
Kuuuuhhhhhnnnn can also make those calls IF he's re-signed.

Of course he can.
He can.
As long as he proves that he can make the calls proficiently, I think he also can be as every bit as good or better.
We still need another interior lineman not matter what.
The key really is AR having faith in him and in his calls. He developed that with EDS, and now he has to start over again. The sooner AR and Tretter, or whomever, get comfortable with each other and the butt height is right, the better the offense will click.
I'm not worried about AR and his relationship with the C. He's a special football player.
