Following are the highlights from coach Mike McCarthy's press conference after training camp practice Tuesday:

(Barclay) suffered a team injury in blitz drill. I was standing behind him, got himself in bad position. Being evaluated, we'll know more tonight.

(tough to look at?) could definitely see he's in compromised position.

(How big a blow if he's out for while?) he's exactly what looking for if want someone to emulate as packer on and off field. Hope it's not serious.

(change of gears doing scout team stuff today?) every training camp get out of installation and transition into game environment. Today different, had some corrections from yesterday and also working on what we might see Saturday at Tennessee.

(Today like a Wednesday practice in season?) similar. Training camp still emphasis, training 90 people, but similar to a Wednesday.

(How Rettig looked?) did nice job today, ran 2 minute drill well. done very good job in classroom, he's done some nice things.

(what think of Lane Taylor in year 2?) Haven't played game yet, looking for him to put in good day of practice.

(Hard to evaluate when doing scout team on one side of the ball?) still have individual assignments, important for guys to play it the way we coach it.

(How Banjo built off last year?) he looks a lot more confident, seen him play faster. Important for him and everybody to take advantage of reps in games.

(Why burnett miss practice?) Suffered oblique strain, will find out more tonight.

Hate to see Barclay go down, but if it's going to happen, better it happen now so they can evaluate who to put in the spot he was sure to occupy.

Also, all of this nattering about JC Tretter is much ado about nothing. Rookies can start and be very effective on the OL...experience wise he's a rookie, but he knows the playbook already. If healthy, I have no doubt he can be a very effective starter...look at Bakhtiari's success as proof it can be done.

I wish Barclay the best in his recovery.

Stop talking sense.

MM: Lane Taylor is doing a lot of good things. He's had some days up and down. I'm looking for him to put together good week of practice

Khyri Thornton destroys Lane Taylor in one on one pass rush. He's having a good practice.

With Barclay done for the season, and I highly doubt TT goes down this road at this point, here are NBC Sports top OL available and unsigned through today should Teddy want some vet experience added....

Offensive guard: Mike Brisiel, Leroy Harris, Harvey Dahl.

The 31-year-old Brisiel started 15 games in each of the last two seasons for Oakland. Harris, 30, can also play center. The 33-year-old Dahl has ample starting experience but had offseason hip and ankle surgery, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Center: Kyle Cook, Leroy Harris.

Cook (6-3, 310) started 66 games for the Bengals from 2009 through 2013. He was limited to four games in 2012 after ankle surgery.

Offensive tackle: Bryant McKinnie, Jeremy Trueblood, Tony Pashos.

McKinnie (35 in September) is a short-term bridge option at left tackle. The 31-year-old Trueblood (10 starts for Atlanta in 2013) and the 33-year-old Pashos (12 starts for Oakland a season ago) are similar options at right tackle.

Kind of liking shopping at a weekend rummage sale and you get there on Sunday at about 7pm wondering what gems and goodies are still around...

Losing a game after being up 6-0 is inexcusable but lately with this team is predictable.   They have no luck and no mojo and they are not doing the little things like making a key pitch or getting a clutch hit to win

The only positive is that I didn't stick around to watch the end of the game because I might have thrown the flat screen out the window

Haven't the Brewers been in 1st place since like April? Glass houses and all that stuff.

In one of the natl sports rags, a couple months ago they did an article highlighting that in today's ACL repairs, the time frame to recover is about 1/2 of what it was 10 years ago.

Back then, an ACL tear meant a 10-12 month recovery for almost all athletes. Now it's more like 6 months.

Of course each athlete is different but if there is a bright side to these injuries it's that they are not nearly the long drawn out recovery that they used to be.

Indeed. The surgeons are better, the tools are better and the post-operative treatments are better too. Less trauma to the site, the use of healing gels/stem cells and improvements in rehab techniques all lead to a quicker recovery. But it still takes awhile to get back to an elite level even though the injury itself is fully healed

Good luck to Barclay and his surgeons
