Almost like that German soccer player with his bikini clad girlfriend on the boat.
Richardson seems to be much {AHEM!} "larger" though

Greater emphasis on stretching this season.
Bike or segway today?
I'm not down on the guy but could this be the year that J Bush is let go? Seems there's a lot of young talent and everyone knows Bush is just a STer and nothing more.
I know what you mean, Tdog. But maybe Bush provides consistency and leadership for ST's. Now, he's probably like a coach for the unit. IF he can continue to at least be competent in a dime package, then I think he stays. However, with so much young talent, he could be gone if the Packers don't want to cut a DB with loads of potential.
Great stuff GD, really appreciate your insight
Here's a link to a Fritz Shurmer Eagle-5 defense we talked about earlier in the offseason....with 5 LBs on the field.
He ran it with the Rams in the 80s and its perfectly suited to hybrid players like Peppers/Neal/Perry who can play standing up or with a hand in the dirt and both inside & outside rushers.

That f'er is a zombie...you just can't kill him.
Remember Ed West? He never went away either.
GD, you da man. You more than anyone has convinced me to make that 2 1/2 hour drive to Titletown for practice.
Do it !
"The other interesting thing was the defense. This is going to be a different D than we have seen with Capers. As I said before there are a lot more 5+ LB sets then I've ever seen. Peppers and Neal were at OLB, Hawk and Jones at ILB, and Matthews moving all over the place."
I think this is why they keep 1 less DL this year. That roster spot could go to another DB, like Banjo. It could also be used to keep another pass rusher, like Bradford.
Thanks GD for sharing your insight
As to the starting O staying inside to practice at the start, I think it was someone at the JSO (or GBPG) that speculated it was to work crowd noise issues. At least that writer said loud crowd noise was heard from inside the Hutson Center while they were in there. With the 1st game at Seattle that makes sence.
That f'er is a zombie...you just can't kill him.
Nope and if you read this article from JSO, you'll see why
'Thirty-plus players get cut each year off Oneida Street โ he remains. The special-teams ace has played 133 total games, including one iron-man run of 92 straight. Really, he should be long gone by now. Out of the NFL. Preparing for his second career."

And Worthy may be unworthy.

3 yard catch...Timber! 3 yard catch...Timber!...memories
You guys quit hating on my man Ed. The Toolbox played TE in a different era.
"Edward "the Toolbox" West was undrafted when he came to the Pack in 1984, yet he still played 11 solid seasons in Green Bay and caught 25 touchdown passes.
In an impressive 167 games as a Packer, West racked up 2,321 yards and was one of the best blocking tight ends in the team's recent history."
On the packer web site I see only 4 DT's mentioned:
BJ
Daniels
Mike Pennel
Letroy Guion
So ...Guion hasn't even practiced. I've heard nothing about Pennel.
Don't we need more than 2 DT's after the final cutdown?
Theories????
I don't know. Special teams is very important and Bush has shown he can make plays there. Not to mention his leadership.
Look at the two SF games last year and tell me the defense is underrated.
I think I heard one of the reporters say they were getting access to the position coaches today. Should be some stories up with whatever they're saying later this evening.

I'll be there from Monday-Wednesday with my wife and Rambling son. Er, my son.
Listen to Mike Daniels, he really gets it!

???? I don't get your comment, Hank. I guess you'll need to write it down.

The Packers are, indeed, Green Bayโs, and no one elseโs. But if you happen to find yourself here outside football season, donโt despair. The origins of this industrial city โ which is nestled along the banks of the Fox River, at the foot of a bay with the same name โ go back nearly 400 years, more than enough time for the town to work up a number of varied attractions. Despite being a port town, Green Bayโs sprawling metropolitan area has a certain landlocked Great Plains quality, with its wide streets and blocks of low-slung, largely modern buildings. Things move slower here, and it takes patience to scope out the townโs charms.

Sounds like Worthy is going fighting an uphill battle to make this team. Back surgery? I'm not holding my breath that he'll be ready for 2013.
I think there is a 100% chance of you being right here.
Thanks GD for the insight for those of us who can only wish they were at TC! We're going to miss your updates.
If WR Gillette runs as slow as his video highlights, he may not be long for GB much less the NFL. Sloooow-mo. Strong, tough, and good hands, but he might not even be able to outrun Hawk.
You get beyond that quick first step that worked so well for him at MSU and Worthy really doesn't have much to offer. I've already marked him down as a TT mistake.
Myles White is having a very good camp and I wouldn't be surprised at all if he makes the final cut. MM had some good things to say about Joe Thomas yesterday and he's another guy I'm keeping an eye on.
Regarding Gillette. Demetri Goodson has been praised for his athletic ability. Raw, but clearly an athletic guy that can be developed. Gillette ran a go route against Goodson yesterday. Positioned himself to go over the top of Goodson to catch what's being described as the play of camp so far.
4.65 40 time. Whatever. Can he play football?
