They walk through the discussion at 6:30. Belichick gives a history of the development of the position and Pat talks about it clearer than my recollection. Not surprisingly my memory was s**t. I'll pull an 8 and blame it on Pat talking at the speed of a five year old left alone with a share size bag of Skittles.
@titmfatied posted:I can't find it now but McAfee was talking about long snappers the other day and mentioned 3 aspects to the position; snapping, protection, and coverage. He said finding one that can do all three well is rare and most teams will put up with one aspect less than great if the other two are solid. I have to imagine Orzech is exceptional at protection and coverage because his snaps have been consistently off.
Listening to Jason Wilde and he said he spoke to Orzech and Matt admitted the snap was low and Whelan (Game MVP 57 yd avg on Punts too) made a great hold. McJesus does what he does and that is kick the ball perfectly no matter what the snapper and holder are doing. The foot is coming thru. Get the fucking ball down and your hand out of the way or you will lose it Mofo!!
And that ends today's lesson for all you students here ar Boris University. Get your hands out of the way. Write that down.
He'll kick that ball plus your hand and anything else you put in front of his foot, through the uprights.
Snap the ball correctly FFS!
