My observations from Day 3:

- I was surprised to see TE Mitchell Henry on the first KO unit. Don't know if it means anything, but it was just a shock. He's been working exclusively with the scout team in team drills.

- On the flip side TE Justin Perillo seemed to get some work with the 1's. He seems to offer some more versatility moving in to the FB role, but he still looks small for a TE. He's listed at 6'3" and I didn't seem as much taller than John Kuhn. He seems to be a good receiver though, he caught some rocket balls from Rodgers and Tolzien.

- Ty Montgomery made some really nice moves out there. He would have had another really awesome acrobatic catch, but LaDarius Gunter had very tight coverage and Monty couldn't stay in bounds. He landed kind of funny and I was worried he hurt his shoulder, but he seemed to shake it off fine.

- Hundley and Blanchard seemed to struggle again with accuracy overall even though each had one nice pass in some of the 7 on 7 drills.

- Myles White had a good day I thought. He made some difficult catches and looked quicker/faster than in the past. He's a longshot to make the roster IMO, but he looked good.

- CB Damarious Randall looked REALLY good out there. I was seriously impressed with his skills. He's quicker and faster than any of the other CBs on the roster IMO and his closing speed is outstanding. He doesn't trip over his feet or get turned around, he's smooth in his backpedal and changes direction quickly. Once he learns the game and develops some savvy I think he's going to be a heck of a CB.

- CB Tay Glover-Wright looks like he could be a player down the road. He's very athletic and had tight coverage at times. He got burned badly on a move by Davante Adams that made him trip over his own feet and Adams caught an easy back-shoulder throw for 10. He looks like a practice squad keeper.

- SS Sean Richardson was all over the field and looked good. I think he and Burnett are one of the reasons why they felt comfortable waiting until the mid-rounds to draft an ILB. He has LB instincts and looks leaner/faster than he has in years past.

- CB LaDarius Gunter had another good day I thought. He had tight coverage pretty consistently and was always the first guy off the bench at CB.

- I saw LB Jake Ryan getting a little time at OLB in team drills. It was just a few plays, but he didn't embarrass himself. He had a nice edge rush against Bahktiari...he lost, but it was close.

- LB Andy Mulumba had a lot of energy out there and looked like he was in great shape. He was the #2 behind Peppers.

- WR Jimmie Hunt (rookie/Missouri) had a nice day. He made some difficult catches and took advantage of opportunities. He's built like Jarrett Boykin and seems to have some speed.

- WR Jeff Janis had a REALLY nice catch from Tolzien over the middle. He was absolutely blanketed by Gunter and Tolzien fired a rocket (maybe 10-15 yards) and Janis held on. We sat in front of his wife (pretty cute actually) and she was talking about which games she was planning to attend this year sounding pretty confident Jeff was going to make the roster and be active. TIFWIW

- LB Jayrone Elliot looks noticeably bigger/stronger. He looks like he's been taking advantage of the S&C program. He was the #2 behind Perry when Clay was at ILB.

- Much to Henry's chagrin I'm sure, I thought DL Khyri Thornton had a nice day. He's a lot bulkier, especially in the lower body, than I thought. I didn't see him do anything noteworthy with power moves, but he has good burst and quickness as a pass rusher. He did well working against OL in individual drills.

- DL Christian Ringo is a Mike Daniels clone. He's short and squatty with a thick low body. He needs to put on some upper body weight/muscle. He looks like a good developmental player for the PS.

- DL Bruce Gaston (1st year/Purdue) had a good day. He's a huge guy and collapsed the pocket at will in individual drills. He's super high energy like Mike Daniels also, he may be the surprise DL of camp! I thought he looked better than Mike Pennell FWIW.

Sounds like Palmer is ahead of Jamari Bradford and Ryan is ahead of both of them.  I get the feeling The Boot has learned the 5 year development path for scrubs doesn't work so well.

Amazing how DB scouting/coaching just keeps pulling out gems.  Whatever could be the disconnect at the LB position?  *puzzled*  It must be all the assistant HC duties.

Linemen one-on-ones.
