Can the Packers DL get pressure and force a turnover or two?

Can the Packers OL keep Rodgers clean?

Can Rodgers take what the D gives him and avoid falling in to the trap of holding on too long?

Can anyone stop Kittle and Deebo?

Have the same feeling I had going in to the TB game last year. This just feels like the team that presents the worst matchup for the Packers right now, and I don't feel good about any of the questions above. The Defense has been atrocious since the Seattle game and I'm not confident that Alexander jumps immediately in to Pro Bowl mode after a huge layoff. I think the game thread is going to be full of asking why no one can cover Kittle or Deebo. Niners front 7 is too much for the OL, Packers run game is ineffective for the most part and Rodgers is under pressure far too often. Niners get up early, force GB in to catchup mode, and they can't ever get over the hump.  Late back breaking TD drive by the Niners ends it.

34-19 Niners.

The DL pressure is going to be key in today's game, and if they get by the Niners going forward.

It's lining up so that the Packers are not likely to face a QB who runs for big yardage no matter how long their playoff run lasts. No defensive meltdowns caused by letting a guy like Kaepernik to run wild when everything else is covered. Kyler Murray and Russell Wilson would concern me in a cold weather game where the passing game is more challenging. I am a little concerned about Trey Lance hurting them on a few designed plays today.

But other than that, they are going to get Jimmy G. today and if they get by him, Brady/Stafford. Even if they make the Super Bowl, the options are Mahomes, Burrow, Josh Allen (who does run often), and Tannehill.

The key to all these guys is pass rush (it almost always is). Jimmy G. is the weakest of all the starting QBs left in the playoffs and all these guys are capable of picking you apart if you let them stand back there and leisurely go through their reads. I'm more optimistic than you are today, but if they struggle with generating pass rush today but still manage to get by a dinged-up average QB like Jimmy G., it doesn't bode well for going any further.

Maybe needed Moore’s roster spot for a player returning from injury.  I wonder if Rodgers or Cobb returns kicks?

Letting Amari Rodgers return punts would be coaching malpractice. Kickoffs are one thing, there's a lot less judgement needed. You stand on the goaline and it if goes over your head you let it go. If it's going to land in front of you, you field it.

Punts require a lot more poise and confidence. He's failed to show that this year.

I believe they've taken two guys off the Practice Squad for the DL this week, including Abdullah.

Ty Montgomery begs to differ

Did not expect Bakh to play and am dubious that Z will add anything.

Hope Mercilus, Jaire, and Turner can be productive.

Not happy to see MVS out as he opens things up with his deep threat abilities.

On a better note, SF being down a starting CB should help the passing game.

Only 2 ways we lose this game ; 1) Lose the turnover battle  and /or 2) Not be able to block them.

IDK if the blocked punt is officially deemed a turnover ... but both of these ended up happening

Go ahead and piss down your leg.  This year has nothing to do with those years, and if you don’t think weather and home crowd have no bearing in the outcome, I’m afraid you know nothing about football.

been watching the packers since the early 1970s.   i know plenty about football. i have suffered through more packer losses than i care to count, many before you were probably born. do you know who david whitehurst is?  scott hunter?  jon staggers? did the weather do the packers any good on Saturday?

Jerry Tagge?

I see ya a Jerry Tagge and up ya a Don Horn. Although Horn had one great shining moment:

Horn relieved injured back-up Zeke Bratkowski in the first quarter and guided the Packers to a one-point win over the Chicago Bears at Wrigley Field, which denied them the division title.

horn threw 5 td passes in a game once. i think against the cardinals

Possibly the dumbest post I’ve seen on this board, lol.  Wow.

dumbest post ever?  how did the weather and home field advantage work out for the packers?  they fucking lost.  it’s the playoffs. you don’t show up, you lose. relying on the weather and the home crowd is for losers.  i’ve lived through too many of these devastating losses to count. take your cocksure confidence in mr mvp Rodgers and stick it.

The original Smith Brothers, Barry Smith and Barty Smith.

You seem angry.

Rote to Howton was THE connection in my youth.
A lot of good players in the 50's, but the coaches super sucked.
Packers traded him to Detroit and in his first game back in GB the Packers broke his jaw.
My father was so pissed!

Ok, starting to come out of my cave yesterday and today. @Jessie Clark you made what I thought was a dumbass post about homefield, but it was accurate and I give you your due. In the end home field didn't mean shit. I even called your post out during the game when Kittle dropped that wide open pass over the middle and Jimmy G looked like he was throwing an inflated beach ball. I'm not in a place where I can assign blame just to ST or just to individual players, but it was "team" fuck-up from the staff down. Being in Lambeau didn't mean shit.
