Coach Prime's limited success at Colorado has been due to the fact that he has his son as the starting QB and the NIL money allows him to buy a few skill position guys that look flashy. The current mocks have both S. Sanders and Travis Hunter going relatively high in the first round. If his OL holds up at all, they are good enough to win some games.

Deion's problem as a coach is that he isn't as good as finding guys to do the dirty work in the trenches and his skill position guys can't function if his son is flat on his back after a 3-step drop.

I think Deion is a better fit for the NIL era of college football than he is for the NFL. Wherever he goes, he'll probably attract enough NIL money for his players to be competitive at the college level. In the NFL, he can't outspend the other teams, and he'd have to rely on Xs and Os.

Who knows with Jerry Jones. But if Jerruh is serious about trying to win a title before he dies, he has one choice next year if and when they flame out this year. Bill Belichick. The Cowboys problems right now are not on offense and Micah Parsons would be scary to see with Belichick basically scheming him to be the 2020s version of Lawrence Taylor.

I agree with the lame duck thoughts as well.

I wonder if insurance companies will line up to sign him with his name recognition and everything?  He can put his recruiting skills to work signing new clients, he is good at communicating over the phone, and a desk job would keep him at home more.  Or maybe he would think getting new clients to sign is to much like getting Dak Prescott to sign a contract.  There are times retirement looks pretty good too.  I hope he does well whichever path he chooses when his lame duck status expires.

I hope he takes time off/retires and gets his health right.  Big guy with a high stress job who's brother died of a grabber are not good vectors.

I agree I do worry about MM he needs some time off to get his health in good order and live a good life.

As for the Cowboys, I want nothing but misery for that franchise, to give ESPN the finger (they seem to think the only team is Dallas), and their "fans".

As I have said before who would want the Cowboys job?  Would BB go there knowing that Jerruh will never give him the power that he is used to.

MM is tied for 15th for all time wins in the NFL with 181.  He's 20 wins away from matching Dan Reeves at 10th all time.  Yes, he benefitted from HOF QB play but the guy is no slouch.

Take a look at what Bill Belichick's record is with and without Tom Brady. He was 40-43 without Brady in New England (2005 when Brady tore his ACL and 2020-2023). He was 36-44 in Cleveland.

Definitely not HOF stuff.

Bill Parcells was 34-30 in Dallas. MM is 45-28.

MM has some faults, just like all coaches do, but the guy was one playoff run in Dallas from being a shoe-in Hall of Fame coach. And it's not like he won't be in the HOF conversation once he's done for good. He's made the playoffs 12 times in his 17 years and three of the years he missed where either his first year with a team, his first year with a new starting QB, or when his starting QB missed most of the year.

What the F does Jerruh know about plays designs and concepts?

Now, glory holes... that's something Jerruh knows very well.
Money + ego does not equate to an offensive genius, no matter how much they tell you otherwise.

If Junior could get Daddy to retire or otherwise give up active control of the team, they might stand a chance to land a HC like Belicheat. I think Jr. understands it takes real football men to manage a team, and build a roster that can win the prize. Daddy, obviously, does not.

Belicheat already told the Falcons no, because he couldn't have complete control of the team. He's not likely to change his mind for the Cowboys.

Are these Concepts of plays? 🫑😁

Dude is a lame duck coach and everyone knows it. MM should've held out and forced Jerruh to give him a new deal before the start of the season like Dak & CD Lamb. πŸ˜†

Nope, would not have happened. Jerry would have said OK, WALK then.  Maybe even run.  There are many guys who would jump at the chance to coach the Cowpokes.

Not gonna lie, I feel you're besmirching glory holes a bit.

Not that it's anything, but I believe the official story is that it was Atlanta who choose not to hire Beli, not the other way around.

If you've got by far the best QB in your division, a couple of woeful franchises that can't get out of their own way, and a talented roster overall, well by golly Michael John McCarthy will coach your team to more wins than losses.

Mac absolutely feasted on the Lions and Bears when he was in GB and has done the same to the pathetic Giants and (until this year) Commanders/Redskins since he took over in Dallas.

Now, if competing for Lombardi trophies is your thing, then it is hard to ignore that Mac will have coached for 18 season and gotten to exactly 1 SB by the time Jerruh tells him in about 2.5 months his time in Big D is over. (Mac ought to send DeSean Jackson a bouquet of flowers every year for allowing his team to squeak into the playoffs during the glorious 2010 super bowl run).

And shed no tears for Mac, he was more than happy to be Jerruh's loyal man-servant for 5 years in Dallas to the tune of $25M. Not everyone can blissfully swallow his pride for a buffoon like Jerruh the way Mac has.

Desean Jackson aside, they still won every game on the road to get to the Super Bowl then beat an excellent Steelers team once they got there without their best defensive player in the 2nd half and a key WR (Driver).

Not giving MM credit (& Dom) for that is completely wrong.

Should they have been to 1 or 2 more big games?? Absolutely, but that 2010 run was magical....and the Packers were CLEARLY the best team in the NFL that season.

The 2010 Mike McCarthy coached Packer team sure did go 4-0 in the playoffs to bring home that 4th Super Bowl win.

Many, if not most, Packer fans assumed that 2010 was just the beginning of a glorious run, especially with the other 3 NFC North franchises generally sucking for the remainder of Mac's tenure in Green Bay.

Alas, for fans of the teams he has coached, MaC is just 7-11 in playoff games outside of that 2010 season.

Mac peaked as a coach a lifetime ago in NFL years and I could not be happier he has been collecting checks from Jerruh down in Dallas these past 5 years.

Wasn't 2010 the "FIDO" year because of the ridiculous amount of injuries?

And the year the Packers kicked the hell outta the Falcons?
That's still a favorite victory almost 15 years later!

Could very well be, Tavis.
Local media reported that BB wouldn't accept any deal from the Falcons that included Rich McKay keeping his position.
Arthur Blank wasn't willing to do that, and that killed any possibility of reaching an agreement.

I don't know why the "fire McCarthy" talk ever got started, but it doesn't matter a bit to me. It's DallAss. F those guys.

Whoever may be the HC next year and beyond is in an impossible situation. They will be hamstrung by Dak and his contract. Jerruh should keep MM there for Dak's tenure, unless he finds anybody foolish enough to take that job.

Wouldn't be surprised if McCarthy and the Pokes are up for this game. They have a chance to beat and potentially hurt (playoff seeding) their chief nemesis/arch rival.

I remember 2006. Last game of the season meant nothing but MM's Packers played pretty damn hard. Let's see if the 2024 Cowboys can replicate that performance.

Man time flies ...
