This is statistically the worst season of his career and it's not particularly close.  Think of all the other seasons he's had:  his first year starting, the horrible o-line issues he used to have (sacks), the last years of MM.  This was still his worst.  At 39 year old.

Even if you think there's still gas in the tank, I'm not taking that bet on a soon-to-be 40 year old QB who just had his worst season on record.

I actually could see Rodgers hanging on a couple more years in a dome or warmer weather team that has better weapons offensively than the Pack does.  But he definitely is more injury prone and more relectant to use his legs and I don’t think those things are going to get better no matter where he plays.

MLF needs to go.   He ain’t got it   he reminds me of Kliff Kingsbury in AZ.   Play calling and lack of discipline

Get rid of 12   I think he has lost many on the team

Cobb gone - love him but it’s not there anymore

Start Love next year  commit early in the offseason   No drama with 12

Tonyan got stronger as the season progressed.   It takes awhile with a major injury.   Could we draft better-maybe? But I like him

Doubs and Watson look great

I love Mason but I think we need a young strong leg    A shame that 53 yarder bounced short

This doesn't look like the toughest schedule.

In 2023, the Packers’ schedule is as follows:

Home: New Orleans Saints, Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Chargers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Los Angeles Rams, Minnesota Vikings, Chicago Bears and Detroit Lions.

Away: Las Vegas Raiders, Atlanta Falcons, Carolina Panthers, Denver Broncos, New York Giants, Pittsburgh Steelers, Minnesota Vikings, Chicago Bears and Detroit Lions.

It was well known the Broncos preferred Rodgers over Wilson because of the Hackett connection. And after what the Broncos gave up for Wilson I believe the following. But once again the Packers let Rodgers run the organization as he was the one deciding whether he was leaving GB.

-------------------------------------

According to Tony Pauline of Pro Football Network, the Broncos are reportedly willing to β€œgive up a ton of picks for Aaron Rodgers.” It comes from a mindset that people around the NFL view as a β€œsense of desperation” within the Broncos’ organization.

The front office could package its next three first-round picks along with Day 2 selections to offer Green Bay. Of course, the Packers will only trade the back-to-back NFL MVP if he wants out.

So… off season speculation from some dude named Tony Pauline is the best we got so far?

Generally front offices don't come out with official statements saying they are actively trying to trade a player, especially a player like Rodgers. So if that's what you're looking for it's not going to happen. Some dude named Tony Pauline is another Adam Schefter/Jay Glazer insider type reporter. So for me, where there is smoke there is fire. Personally I think Rodgers was all in for Denver until his Bronco fan fiance dropped him.

- This team is soft from the top on down

- Pepe LaFleur out coached, out schemed and out time managed at almost every turn.

- Joe Dingle Barry, probably showed enough to Pepe the previous few weeks to hang on to his job but really, there isn't much to say about his "scheme" that hasn't already been said.

- Darnell Brutal.  I probaby give Dingle Barry more credit than he necessarily deserves for the defensive failures of the unit, in general, given the play of this clown.

- Waiting 9 weeks to jettison Amari Rogers.

- #12 just not seeing the field like he once did and not willing to move the chains with his feet.

+ don't have to watch another early playoff exit at the hands of a well coached San Fran team.

+ have some young talent

+ probably will move up 30-40 spots on the season ticket waiting list, rather than the usual 5.

One thing that I think this team has consistently failed at this year is going for it on 4th down.  I still don't want to speak of last night when they went for it on their own 30 yard line?  You are basically giving the opponents a minimum of 3 points in that situation.  Damn man I get being aggressive but at some point you have to say phuck the analytics and punt the damn ball.

Red zone woes (both offense and defense) and short-yardage conversions (offense) killed this team all season.

Turnover differential was not good this year.

Pass rush suffered greatly after Gary went out.

Right side of o-line needs to solidify next year.  I don't know if Myers is "the guy" or not.  There are flashes but he is inconsistent.  Runyan even more so.  Think Tom is the starting RT going to into training camp.  Re-sign Nijman as the swing backup tackle.

Skill positions need re-tooling.  Start over with TE's. Tonyan maybe could be had cheap on a prove it deal but I don't think he's a special player.

Safeties are a huge question mark next year.  Amos has lost several steps.  Ford turned into a pumpkin.  Savage is a utility player now.

Specialists outside of Nixon could all be replaced.  Coco's snaps were all routinely low.  O'Donnell's punting dropped off once it got cold.  Crosby should ride off into the sunset.  He's had a great career.

I don't buy that Rodgers had a bad year because of rookie receivers, etc. He's not the only guy who's ever had young guys to throw to; he's the guy who refuses to throw to them or to even encourage them. I could buy to an extent that it was his thumb; but if you're that hurt and hurting the team, sit your ego and ass down. I don't buy that he did not need to come to OTAs with rookie WRs; he needed to be there if he cared about this team and helping to lead it. My eyes tell me that Rodgers has lost the split-second field scanning ability and snap judgment he used to have. He has shown he does not have the will to just move the chains in big games but is in favor of going for the big heave. He's also lost the unique arm he had where he could throw from any angle and foot position and still zip the ball to wherever it needed to go even if it was through the eye of a needle, and yet he still tries to make those throws. We saw all of this earlier in the year, but many tried to excuse it away. Last night was the whole ball of melting wax in one game.

If Rodgers wants to play next year, find a dance partner and let him go. He may have a good year or two left, but I think -- sadly -- Father Time has finally got his clutches on Rodgers and he ain't letting go.

After this game, I wouldn't blame Love for asking for a trade if they aren't going to play him. Unfortunately, the FO would most likely oblige him rather than get rid of a guy who's sliding downhill fast.

Yeah, this FO probably would, but how can they justify letting Love go, after being in the Packers' system for 5 years?  I think Love and Watson together could be like Favre and Sharpe, or Rodgers and Nelson. I cannot see them letting Love walk, or be traded, only to have to groom a new QB. I think they should start Love, next season, no matter if Rodgers leaves, or not.

Rodgers is the problem. His accuracy has left him, even on the easy throws. His deep balls are usually either underthrown or out of bounds. Even the swing passes to the RBs force them to break stride. That's the difference between a 7 yard gain and nothing. I think it's reached a point where the team is younger and would probably prefer playing for Love, someone they feel more of an equal to.

Parkz..  This isn't the local City Hall where we can file a records request.

Deductive reasoning is a tool you should try to utilize here.   Seems like you're picking a fight for no reason.

Not looking for a fight.  I'm also not willing to believe a narrative because it's been stated over and over and over again on a message board full of people that have no knowledge of the situation.

I was dating John Elway when this all went down. No, I didn’t put out. I told him I was a virgin saving my self for the day the trade went through.

Rodgers can still make a lot of those big time throws.  It’s just he can’t make as many of them, and he’s not as nimble or fast with the legs.  Still, he’s better than at least 50% of the starting QBs in the league physically and he’s probably better than 80% of them mentally.

If the Packers opened shop tomorrow you don’t think there would be about a dozen teams (at least) interested in acquiring him?   If you are a warm weather or dome team he’s totally your guy.

Yes they fucked up royally by not trading him prior to this season but they can still make amends.   That includes playoff teams like the Niners and Giants and Cowboys and other teams like the Titans and Jets.

Positive:

Most everyone now realizes it is time to let Rodgers ride off into the sunset and get off the carousel as he said.

More people now believe the team needs to move on.   The window has closed and fans realize they do NOT want to see a repeat of Bret Favre's 3 year exit drama.

Packer fans will learn by observation how many other great young talented QBs exist in the league and will realize we are continuing to hold on to someone past their prime - potentially pressuring coach and management to change.

Negatives:

Management and Coaching staff will not learn the above lesson and will continue chasing Favre/Rodgers bowing to his draft needs.

It took 8-10 weeks for rookie receivers to mesh with Rodgers (why wasn't AR working with them in off-season)

Red Zone offense was offensive

We stayed in the playoff race too long, which prevented us from evaluating Jordan Love further.  Jordan Love could have done what he did last night and earlier this season but we'll never know.
