Can Favre overcome that at the line and change CKA's decision? That's what I am banking on....... Favre is not stupid. 18 years in the league at the same position will do that to a person....

This is the fatal flaw in the "TOG knows what he's doing" argument

His physical skills have diminished and he's actually become quite predictable as a result. There used to be a time when teams had difficulty gameplanning the guy because of what he could do on the move and when his arm strength literally tilted the field in his favor. Not anymore.

Brent's problem is that he still thinks and acts like he's in his prime but he can't back it up anymore at 40. That's not a crime- it happens to all guys that get older. By the same token, teams know this and they aren't scared of the guy anymore either.

What Minnesota fans fail to realize is that while Peterson might be the best running back in the league it always boils down to Favre being Favre. What I mean by that is that he always has to be the center of attention, and that is his achilles heal on the football field. Sure, he may pull a play or two out of his proverbial ass, but more often than not he's not going to win the game for you when the money is on the line. That day has come and gone, and Vikings fans will soon figure that out for themselves.

I keep hearing that AD is sooo injury prone. Really? What injuries has he had other than Al "grab 'em" Harris hitting him on the blindside in the left knee?

Wait, let me hit you on a blindside with a shovel to the head and say you are 'ingury prone'..........

Really???

Al has been gettin away with that for YEARSSSSSSS!!!

Harris' play is called a "tackle".

Pssst....he's allowed to do that.

So, if you are the QB, then the question is... "Do I hand off to AD, or carve these guys up? Because I know that they know that I have AD behind me?"

This is where you are seriously mistaken

Favre's ego won't let him take a backseat to Peterson. Brent is going to feel like he has to prove to everyone he still has "it" and that rarely works- especially for a guy that is clearly over the hill.

Minnesota needs to give the ball to AD more often, not less often, and chances are that is exactly what will happen with Favre playing QB and Chilly/Bevell calling the plays.

Come back three months from now and tell us about it - it's their collective destiny.

Did you not watch a single Jets game last year?

It's been funny watching Viqueens thinking that they are getting the '97 version of Favre. You're not, and will soon find that out. Just like the Jets fans did.

Don't need a Favre from '07. Just need someone who lines up and can see the front and make a decision. "Do I hand off ot the best RB in the league, or do I make a quick dump pass for a first down?"

Vikings didn't have that last year.....

You expect Brett Favre to make a quick dump pass??

Rest assured, if there's an open running back five feet in front of him, and a wide receiver 20 yards downfield that's double covered, he'll try to "thread the needle".

You've never seen Favre play, have you?

First of all, B-N-D is on a completely different level as a poster here. You are way at the bottom of the ladder so you need to climb a few rungs before anointing yourself on his level.

Second, I can't wait for Monday Night Oct. 5th. Do us all a favor and tell the Viking O-Line to keep Favre alive until at least that game. I'm not certain they can.
My seats for that game are right against the opposing teams tunnel. Do you think I will get kicked out if I throw bags of silver coins at Favre and call him Judas? That game is going to be one to remember. It will be the most fun I have had at a game since calling Peyton Eli's little bro last year and getting a chuckle outta him.

Irrelevant. He knows what he is doing as a QB.

Quite relevant actually. Consider that the only good year Favre has had in the last 4 was the season in which is put in considerable effort in preparing for the season. Did he know what is is doing in the other 3? Did he forget? Was it mere coincidence that his best season was when he busted his ass in the off season? Or are you simply grasping at straws?

I deal with punks like that all day long. I know what I'm doing. Piss off. Doesn't matter what the job is.....

What kind of punks do you deal with on the french fry line? Wise acres from the burger station? Cashiers? Uppity janitors?
Favre had a top 3 running back in the NFL from 2001-2003. I wish people would stop with this great running back garbage like hasn't ever had one before. The WR were much better on that team than what the Vikings have too. In 2003 Ahman Green had one of the best seasons in NFL history for a running back. 2003 is still top 10 for single season rush yardage and I believe still top 10 in yards from scrimmage in a season. That still wasn't enough to keep him from throwing 6 picks against the 'invincible' Rams. Nor was it enough to keep him from throwing up a wing and a prayer against the Eagles in overtime.

If anything has been proven it's that he's never been willing to take a back seat. Heck, look at last year the Jets were a very good running team but Favre was complaining early on about lack of throws in the red zone.

When looking at his options after dropping back to pass, the #1 option was always "Favre first".

Are you poo'ing me???

I've been watching this bannana-head and all the fans grind me into the ground for the last 16 years.

Really??? All the 'fake' ref calls? All the 'fake' refs telling him the clock is running down? All the fake 'roughing the passer' penalties???

You don't think I don't know what I've been dealing with for the last 17 years with ou poo-heads???????

It's payback time, baby.... Sorry, but it is..

You dudes walked away from him. I undertand why.

But you did.

Save the money and the likely ejection, and join the movement for a back-turned moment of dead silence when he's announced.

It won't happen, but I'd approve.

How exactly are the Vikes going to pay us back? By showing us how to get their asses kicked in the Super Bowl again??

$12 mil guaranteed....that breaks down to about a cool half a mil per interception.
