TOG is a genius. He found a team stupid/desperate enough to pay him $12 million and not require him to exert a single ounce of energy in preparation for the season.

I began to lose faith in TOG after he literally threw away the Eagles game. I began to dislike him after what he put the Packers through last summer. Now I just can't stand the guy.

Watching TOG and Childress makes me appreciate Rodgers and MM all the more.
I was feeling bad the other day because my brother and I bought those "We'll always remember you Brent!" shirts. I thought, the guy is retired, I shouldn't wear this to the Titans game, it will make it seem like I can't let it go (I got it because the shirt is hilarious). But now I can't wait to wear it and I hope whatever station is covering the Titans game gets me on camera!

I still hope the fans turn their backs to him when he trots out on the field as a Viking. No booing .. no cheering .. just people turning their backs to him.

That's what I would do.....

Linebacker Nick Barnett........

What do you think of Favre going to your division rival?: "I don’t care what team he plays for. Jets, Raiders, Mississippi Mud Ducks, whoever it is I don’t care. Our focus is one game at a time. Our first regular season game is not against Minnesota, it’s against Chicago. We’ll worry about that when it comes. If he wants to play, let him play, do whatever he wants to do. It’s not my concern."
You will face him twice this year, so he's not joining just any team: "Lot of great quarterbacks in the league. Just because he played for this team – he’s a great guy, I looked up to him growing up and watching football. Any more than that, am I going to take it personally? No."
How much better does he make them: "I don’t know. Brett Favre on a team makes a team better. Not just talking about physical capabilities, but leadership, having that aura, it’s great. Are we concerned with him? Absolutely not, we’ll be concerned with him when we see them. We have a great team here, a great quarterback here, great defense here, good running backs. I don’t think we’re worried about anybody. The only people we have to worry about are the people in this locker room. ... I actually could give two (craps), two whatever about it. who cares? I heard Jordan is coming out of retirement too."

Yeah really, why does everyone assume Irv was a saint? He raised Brett to be the guy he is...he's as much to blame for this mess as anyone!

Favre's mother, Bonita, told the Sun Herald of Gulfport, Miss., that Favre will practice Wednesday and play briefly against Kansas City in Friday's preseason game in Minnesota.

"He is going," Bonita Favre said. "I have mixed emotions, but I have always loved to watch him play. This time, however, I thought he would stay retired and stay home. I guess he could not do it.

"He told me he would always wonder 'what if?' I told him I supported him."

Bonita Favre added: "They seem to have a good team in place and he liked that. I guess I need to get a Vikings jersey now."

Did they already tell Booty he has to give up the number?

If I wasn't looking forward to it this much, I would consider selling mine, along with my parking pass and probably make enough to pay off the whole season. I work with some saps that would probably pay it too...

Along with press release. here

"I am excited about the opportunity to join this football team," said Favre. "From ownership, to coaching to the players, it is evident that everyone in the Vikings organization is committed to bringing the fans of Minnesota a Championship. I am eager to join my new teammates and get to work towards that goal."

That the Vikings are really, really desperate to throw 12 million at a 40 year old QB coming off surgery and a not too intense off season of preparation. Seriously, who cares? If he is as bad as most of you on this board make him out to be, you should be HAPPY he signed because he weakened the QB situation for the Vikings.

Just a clue for you- you can be a TT hater and be sick of the Favre drama. It is not one or the other

Get your jersey yet or did you throw it away in a huff after he psuedo retired again?
Maybe Chilly was getting preparing for his new gig next year as chauffeur or limo driver.

Maybe I'm nitpicking, but it just seems that just about any other team in the league would send some nobody to take care of it.

Doesn't CKA have anything better to do? Was the team practicing during this time period?
