It's the Me-Me Favre show ... he'll get every single thing he wants and then some. I'm 99 percent sure it will end similarly to how it all ended for the Jets. The players didn't seem to care for Brett much, and the coaching staff got canned. Brett tailed off again down the stetch and stunk the team out of the playoffs with shotty play.

That the Vikings are really, really desperate to throw 12 million at a 40 year old QB coming off surgery and a not too intense off season of preparation. Seriously, who cares? If he is as bad as most of you on this board make him out to be, you should be HAPPY he signed because he weakened the QB situation for the Vikings.

Just a clue for you- you can be a TT hater and be sick of the Favre drama. It is not one or the other

I'm hardly someone to encourage prima donna behavior, but seriously, if I was them, I would demand a trade to get the F out of there. Especially after the work they put in, Sage actually had a 1/2 way decent night Saturday, T-Jax has a whole career in front of him, and yet this self absorbed selfish ass-hole comes from his private jet in Miss to give the one fingered salute to both of them.

And well put CA as this also proves CKA's don't mean jack either.

When Brett signed with NY, he got a hero's welcome. When he left NY, he got a bronx cheer. Wont' be any different in Minny
ESPN has to be beside themselves with glee. Think about all the airtime they have just filled with Favre-related blather. There is no question that the Vikes are at least short term winners as well - season ticket and jersey sales are sure to go up, if nothing else.

It remains to be seen if they are long term winners, but Childress has certainly hitched his wagon to Favre. His career, or lack thereof, will be defined by the end result. My hope is that they get off to a slow start, resulting in a team implosion, but I doubt we get that lucky.

I’m glad that some Packers fans can see the silver lining in all this as an exciting season and so on, but I just can’t. I have to admit to a more than a little hero worship during his stint in GB, and it’s hard to swallow this. I guess it could be worse… we could be waiters/waitresses at the Brett Favre Steakhouse in GB. Who the heck is going to go in there now?
Favre is also beyond lazy these days .. he put this thing off long enough to avoid the dread of the two-a-days.

I wonder how Jared Allen, and some of the other players who wanted Favre to go thru the full routine feel right now. I have a feeling that is going to be one screwed up locker room.
Can't wait to see the Vikings players backpedal now. All of them said if he came in half way thru preseason they'd be pissed. Chilly said the ship had sailed after he said "no" originally. Now they're all gonna have to kiss his ass. God this is going to be good.

Bring it on!
Hell, $12 million is cheap. He should have asked for $20 million. He had these idiots over a barrel.

I didn't want him to sign because I live in the area. Now it's going to be shoved down our throats everywhere - TV, radio, etc. I guess if it's a failure it will be rather entertaining. But given their cake schedule to start a 4-1 finish (with a loss to the Packers) is not out of the question.
First of all, is anyone REALLY surprised by this? If so, they're fools; almost as big a fool as the Vikings are for signing this self-centered, what's-in-it-for-me *******.

Second, the Vikings WILL regret this. Even if the old guy makes it through the season without getting hurt, his track record in the playoffs has been crummy ever since Holmgren left for Seattle. Favre's single biggest asset (his confidence that he can put the ball anywhere he wants) has turned into his single biggest fault since Holmy hasn't been around to keep his ego under control. Bottom line: if the Vikes make the playoffs, Favre will break their hearts yet again.

Finally, I hope the Packers Board of Directors decides that his name will never, ever be placed on the Packers' Ring of Honor in Lambeau. Nothing would dishonor all of the others' names more than to put his name up there with them. He's NOT an honorable person; just Mississippi white trash.

Huh...that's interesting. In spite of the Super Bowl win and three conference championship games? Wow.

Yes, in spite of that. He called the Lions and tried to get us beat. He was talking to the Vikings before his trade to the Jets. Now he comes back for revenge. Is that ring of honor material?
The only thing that would make this whole thing any more precious would be if he now fails the physical.

I'm actually glad he's going to play. This is going to be fun to watch purple nation completely implode.

That's not what I'm hearing. Sounds like a sack licking segment to me.
Cris Carter:

"I'm amazed how long this went on. I believe there has been a great deal of dishonesty involved as far as being professional, you have people, they have families that are going to be affected...Sage, they traded for him and they told him he would have the opportunity to compete for a job, Tavaris, they told him that (as well), and (yet) all along in this courtship of Brett Favre, they say they don't have any information, they don't know what's going on, and they are saying the Brett Favre book has been closed and the Vikings has moved on but contrary to what anyone believed Brett Favre's on his way and I'm told he will start on Saturday."

You got it Cris. Liars through and through and unprofessional behavior all the way around...
Carter was calling out Childress/Wilf and their BS and implied how unfair this is to Sage/T-Jax. He said Favre's a free agent and he can do what he wants (which is true) but then made a backhanded comment about how if he, Marino, Elway were given the opportunity to skip OTA's/TC then hell yes, they would have come back.

It'll be a marriage made in hell. TOG will not be able to handle 17 weeks. He'll either get hurt or just have woeful performances and insert _______ new injury here.

CKA has wrecked any sliver of integrity he had left with T-Jax/Sage. He knows he'll go down in flames with TOG so he's throwing a hail mary praying for some miracle to occur. Which it won't.

The only bright side is that I can’t see him playing that well, and in the end will only screw the Vikes.

Ed, "incredibly forgiving" is an understatement.

Maybe. I didn't care that he went to the Jets if he wanted to keep playing. But now, if this turns out to be the truth, he's ****ing dead and I'm done trying to rationalize his actions. He was great for us, but he’s not a Packer.
i really did not want this to happen. but now that it is, i guess we have to make the best of it. hopefully, he fails spectacularly.

regardless of what happens, i'll never have any respect for the guy. what a fruitcake. sad part is, i don't think i'l ever be able to watch any old favre games again. he's ruined his legacy completely. could have been held up there with starr, hutson, taylor, etc. the all-time packer greats. not anymore. i hope he blows out his knee in his first game as a queen.

brett, go screw yourself.

Oh, I don't know about that. They just had one of the 'old Brent games' on the NFL Network a couple of weeks ago, and I enjoyed it immensely:

Get ready for much of the same this season.
One of the sports writers here in Boston, Bob Ryan, said Favre is ruining his Greenbay Packer legacy.

Favre is wants to stick it to TT and at the same time he is sticking to the GBP fans.

Brent said he was retiring, I can't imagine he would change his mind.

I'm sure this is just CKA and ESPN stirring up a bunch of nothing. Has his brother even said anything?

Pretty sure you all will be kicking yourself for falling for another August fools prank.
