regardless of what happens, i'll never have any respect for the guy. what a fruitcake. sad part is, i don't think i'l ever be able to watch any old favre games again. he's ruined his legacy completely. could have been held up there with starr, hutson, taylor, etc. the all-time packer greats. not anymore. i hope he blows out his knee in his first game as a queen.

brett, go screw yourself.
We'll all get over it in time, but it's going to take several years I think. Hopefully the Packers will wait a good long while to retire his number, have ceremonies, etc.

Remember, Favre said, he will always be a Packer.

You cannot take seriously anything he says. The guy's word is not worth a crap.

Article from ESPN on July 29 -- less than 3 weeks ago.

After nearly three months of what he described as intense and often emotional soul-searching, Brent Faver decided to remain retired from the NFL rather than become the Minnesota Vikings' starting quarterback. Faver told ESPN's Ed Werder that the decision not to play for the Vikings was incredibly difficult, and in the process he indicated that he is unlikely to ever consider playing again in the NFL.

..."I didn't feel like physically I could play at a level that was acceptable. I would like to thank everyone, including the Packers, Jets and Vikings -- but, most importantly, the fans," [Faver said].

...Faver rejected the Vikings on more than one occasion in the past week. Last Monday, Faver informed offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell, a former Green Bay assistant coach and a close friend, he thought playing again was too risky and that he would remain retired. When Faver told Bevell he wasn't sure his body could endure a full season, Bevell pleaded with him to reconsider, and Faver consented but could "never get over the mental hump."

...Faver also said on Tuesday that he enjoys working out with the kids of Oak Grove High School -- where his nephew is going to be a senior -- and will continue to do so. But contrary to reports, he is not throwing with the intention of returning to the league....

ROFLMAO

How many twists & turns will this drama take before the actual first game of the season??
This just confirms for me what we've all suspected all along. It's always been about Brett, and nobody else.

Chris Mortensen is on ESPN now, and Ed Werder on ESPN radio here in Dallas (the Michael Irvin Show)..both are saying much the same thing. Brett announced his retirement, and waited until now to say he was coming back, because he didn't want to go to the training camp.

Ok, nothing new there. Brett hates camp.

But they both said the reason he didn't want to go to camp? He didn't want to live in the dorm.

What a f'ing prima donna. Lord Brent didn't want to lower himself to have to share a bunk bed. Lord Brent didn't want to have to mingle with his teammates.

LOL, now Steve Young is saying he's shocked.

Bottom line...Brett saw the media focusing on Michael Vick, and felt, "hey, wait a minute, what about meeeeeee? I put the "F" in the NFL. I know, I'm going to have a change of heart, and fly to Minny and sign that contract!
He still has gas in the tank and the Vikings are an ideal fit, whats so hard to grasp about that. TT made the decision he didn't want Favre so he looked elsewhere.

Carter is a goof, Jackson and Sage should feel lucky to even be in the league.

Now just need Favre to put a call in for Nall and this season is worth watching.
Gruden, Jaws, and the ESPN MNF crew cumming furiously in an interview now.

"Clearly the team to beat in the NFC"...

"Brings such a element of excitement and winning"

"Their a complete team now. They have it all.."

Yes indeed...HYPE it up boys. Crown those paper champions!

Love it...
Packer players are excited

I'm guessing that the constant courtship from the purple (and the pining from mick) were exactly the kind of ego tank filling he needed.

Vince McMahon could not have come up with a better script. I hope Favre walks out to the Nature Boys music for the first game waving an oversized cape littered with rhinestones.

It sells like Orange Fanta to Goalline. Wink

Signed sealed and delivered. Where is my Fanta.

How sweet is this?

IMO Woodson will have career days against Brent.

The only bright side is that I can’t see him playing that well, and in the end will only screw the Vikes.

Get over it, dude. He's just a human being. He has his flaws and his ego is a major flaw. Perhaps you will finally accept the truth.
Favre will always be a Packer. We won 1 super bowl with him and probably should have won another 1-2 more. I'll never forget everything he meant to this team and the community.

I think it's great the Vikings want him to play. The entire nation will be watching Packer/Viking games this season

I don't mind Cowherd too much, but what's funny is the guy was blasting Favre 5-6 years ago for his crappy play.
Charles Woodson was asked if he thought Favre can still play at 40 (his birthday is on October): "I don't know, I think you'd have to ask Brett that. That don't really concern me. That's Minnesota's deal."

And Rodgers:

"I don't have a reaction," said Aaron Rodgers. "It doesn't pertain to me. It has absolutely nothing to do with me. It doesn't change anything. It has nothing to do with the Green Bay Packers."

Eh, you know the Vikequeen fans can't win this one -- they win, it's due to the aid of two ex-Packers (Longwell, TOG). For many of them, that fact will always stick in their craws and Packer fans can always rub it in.

The Vikes lose and... they lose!!! Razzer

LOL, and Steve Mariucci as QB coach.

all the right answers. The Packers moved on last year and have stuck to it. Of course, they'll still get bombarded with questions

Kiss of death. Thank you for this.

there it is. Nicely done! Now I'm really excited for the season
I wonder what the locker room is like in Vikequeen land today. The QBs have basically been told "you suck" after being babied along and hearing (now false) confidence in them for months. Coach CKA tells everyone "the door is closed" to Favre and then they start recruiting him after one bad practice last week, according to news reports. Coach CKA wants Favre in for OTAs and TC, and he blows them off. Now, they welcome him with open arms and offer big bucks to boot.

So, your coach (and owner) talk out of both sides of their mouths -- who do you believe if you're a player? No wonder hometown-boy Birk decided at the end of his career to go to Baltimore when most guys want to finish their careers at home.

Kind of makes TT and MM look all the better for sticking to their decisions and doing what they say they're going to do.

Getting live feed of him walking around the facility with Childress leading the way. If you look closely, you can see Favre controlling CKA with strings

Well, as a sports fan (a limited aspect of my life, thankfully Smiler ), I thing the only time I felt like this was when Luis Figo jumped ship from Barcelona to Real Madrid. I really dislike Favre now.

Well put.

And let me add. KAMPMAN, knock him out. Smiler
Best case scenario for Favre is the Vikings make the playoffs and he never heads for the cold.

Cause if he does, I think he is toast.

If Favre can stay indoors and with that defense and running game, maybe he can endure a full season.

How good is the Vikings pass protection?

As to Favre the person, it seems likely he is a prima donna who's brain is largely made up of rock.

Have you forgiven Figo? Real sucks as much as the Vikings, BTW, except they actually win.
