Clark Judge at CBS is not impressed at all with the move.

Not all sports writers all ball washers

With Favre, on the other hand, I do know what he is, and I do know what he will be -- and that's an old quarterback waiting to break down as the season wears on. Favre turns 40 this year, and old quarterbacks get hurt, throw interceptions and, basically, have trouble making it through an entire season. Favre offered a demonstration a year ago when he self-destructed down the stretch with the New York Jets, throwing two touchdown passes and nine interceptions in their final five games -- four of which they lost.

Favre will do for the Vikings what he did for the Jets, and that's sink the ship. There might be flashes of the old Brett early, with Favre winging the ball downfield to Percy Harvin or Bernard Berrian, but watch how his deliveries start to flutter as the season wears on and he absorbs more and more hits.

Of course, Minnesota has Adrian Peterson and Chester Taylor, so the Vikings won't have to rely so much on Favre. But he still must throw, and he must throw in big games. And if he does what he wants and not what the Vikings need, Minnesota is cooked.
Neither is Peter Kinglink

Actively practicing as we speak.

Talk about moving fast...

No doubt. All this tells me is hat there were some serious discussions going on last year...can the Packers re-file tampering charges? It is pretty obvious they did.

Not that ROTTT wants to open that back up but man, what a dick TOG turned out to be.
Obviously, this was the plan all along. Going back weeks ago when he retired for the 19th time. I mean if the players all were talking about it last week already everyone involved knew.

And nobody seems to care that the guy is a giant liar. He'll lie right to your face and then the same person will be all buddy buddy with him again.

Clearly this was all orchestrated last year and I'm still ticked the Packers didn't get at least 1 first round pick out of the deal.

I like when condescension gets pooped on the very next day.

Oh... and Glazer is, once again, money. On the media side of things, ESPN blew up this story yesterday when Schefter arrived and pooped on it, obviously setting the table for making Glazer look stupid. Bummer when that POS network has egg on its face as well.

Let's use some objectivity here people!

Maybe they had to wait for his locker to arrive from Green Bay. Or, had they already shipped it to him in Mississippi?

He signed, so what? Hungry5 said he'd sign now two weeks ago. That makes Glazer late to the party. Smiler It's still hilarious he throws out a "feeling" that's the same thought umpteen other people have had and it generates 7 pages discussion in about 12 hours just on this board. Glazer simply brought it up again at the time so many said Favre would sign. That Favre signs now really isn't a big surprise, but all the people nutslurping Glazer for bringing up the same thing so many others have is really funny. As I said, Hungry5 (among others) was well ahead of him.

Favre sells because so many take it so seriously. Why should he retire and why shouldn't a team want him? Think of all the jerseys and merchandise rolling off the racks now. Look at all the buzz it creates. This is golden for the NFL.

Everybody knows Reggie White couldn't hold a candle to Mullet Head.

And you're still wrong. Maybe you could throw out some more flak to cover up the stupid you got goin' on?

Heck, for all we know Bert fed this story to Glazer and said "have a little fun with it".

Nothing would surprise me at this point, but Glazer has been nothing but a fly in the ointment for BusBrent Inc. since the whole saga started 18 months ago. Good for him - he's earned his credibility, unlike the stools that simply spew the spin they've been fed from you-know-who.

And Leroy Butler was just a stiff as well...

And Gilbert Brown in his prime was useless....

And Desmond Howard on special teams in 1996 was just an average PR....

And Keith Jackson was a joke.......

It's amazing how many people don't remember that the 1996 Packers had the best defense in the league by a wide margin. White was an all-time great, and Butler should also be a Hall of Famer. Sean Jones, Santana Dotson, and Gilbert on the front 4 with Reggie meant that they didn't have to blitz to get pressure.
I don't like Favre coming back to the Vikings. It isn't that I am afraid he will win a Superbowl with them (he won't), it is that his late season collapse will ultimately lead to the firing of Brad Childress, who makes Mike Tice and Denny Green look competent. If Childress still only had Sage and Tavaris, he could at least claim he is a QB away from winning it all.

Childress is betting the farm on a 39 year old player who missed all offseason training and the brunt of training camp. I doubt he'll have much left in the tank by November.

Maybe I'm nitpicking, but it just seems that just about any other team in the league would send some nobody to take care of it.

Doesn't CKA have anything better to do? Was the team practicing during this time period?

Well, who do you think is the boss now? CKA works for Favre.

that's been a topic that seems to be confusing...we are not sure if it's 270 (which the NFL states is the record for Jim Marshall-- a Viking) or it's 282 because Marshall played all 12 games for Cleveland in 1960 before he became a Viking....

What is the record?

I count 4 games below 60 degrees:

Oct. 25...autumn in Pennsylvania...hmm...probably below 60
Nov. 1 @ Packers..noon start...but probably below 60
Dec. 20 @ Panthers is a night game...
Dec. 28 @ Bears....night game...brrrrr...

Exactly 1 Super Bowl win in entire 18-year career. Big fat hairy deal.

Bart Starr won the first 2 Super Bowls, plus prior to the first Super Bowl he won 5 NFL championships!!

Roethlisberger has already won 2 SB's. Brady, Elway, Montana, Aikman, Plunkett, Montana, Bradshaw, Staubach, Griese -- all won 2 or more SB's.

Brad Johnson, Dilfer, Rypien, Hostetler -- won the same number of SB's as Brent Faver. Whoop-de-freakin'-doo.
I've said this many times before...but I really believe there's only one reason he's coming back...to break the consecutive games record...(see other thread)...

I know he wants to win another Super Bowl...but that is more difficult to do...he knows all he has to do is suit up and start and he can get the most coveted record in any sport (most consecutive games played)

Of course, Peyton Manning could conceivably break it in 7 years....

Wow, when you look at it like that... Eeker
Bart Starr won a total of 5 NFL championships including the first two Superbowls.

As Vince Lombardi's quarterback, Starr's Packers won NFL Championships in the 1961, 1962, 1965, 1966, and 1967 seasons. Following the NFL championships in 1966 and 1967, he led the Packers to convincing victories over the champions of the rival AFL in the first two Super Bowls and was named the Most Valuable Player of both games. He is the only player to quarterback a team to five NFL championships.[2]

Fuzzy Thurston is the only member of the Lombardi Packers to win 6 NFL Championships having won one with the Colts before joining the Packers.
