Also this part from his McAfee interview today (seems directly in opposition with his attacks on Gutekunst)
He was supposed to be the missing piece of the puzzle for the Jets and that didnât work. Maybe heâs angling to be the Lions savior next season.
Unfortunately, Goff is a better QB nowadays. ðŽ
Give Rodgers an OL and he becomes Aaron Rodgers again.
If Dancing With The Stars doesnât hardline Achilles clearance I see a top 8 in 2026.

I thought it was Jordan Peele.
Wait, is Jordan Peele actually Russell Wilson?
Some guys just don't know when to stop digging.
Somebody else mentioned Rodgers going into politics, and I can see him wanting to remain relevant if he has any ideas of doing that. But at this point, he's become a punching bag for how to let hubris ruin a legacy that took almost two decades to build.
Well I can say with no doubt in my mind that in 2024 he is clearly qualified for any political position in the US. Name your assignment, it's yours bud. Just float some $$$ my way and you are in!

I'll think he'll either start his own podcast or get paid to be an even more frequent recurring guest on McAfee. He really wants to be Joe Rogan now that he is never getting near a Jeopardy-like gig again

I'd be shocked if Rodgers was in the league next season. Obviously he won't be a back up so someone has to make him the starter. Jets are clearly done with him so they're out. Only other teams that have little to nothing at QB next year are the Titans, Giants, Raiders, and Browns. Giants and Raiders are picking 1 and 2 as of now and they'll probably take a QB. Titans have a top 10 pick and Will Levis is actually starting to look like a capable QB in the last month. Browns are a mess so impossible to tell what they'll do but bringing Rodgers into the Watson situation seems like a terrible idea (and I think Jameis is a better option than Rodgers b/c his teammates actually like him).
I just don't see a spot for him in the league next season. And if he's not in the league, does anyone really care what he has to say? He may fade away quicker than we think.
I just don't see the Jets as being "done with him" that's a gigantic cap hit in 2025.....but weirder things have happened.
If the Jets are "done with him" then why are they letting him stay in a starting role the rest of this season?? Doesn't make any sense.
If a crap team is smart theyâd sign 12 to a one year contract and draft a QB high. The kid will have 1 year to learn from a HOF player instead of being thrown to the wolves where so many fail.
I donât see AR wanting anything to do with a crap team unless he thinks that team is a QB away from contendingâĶ.like Jets were supposed to be.
Yeah, it will be the Vikings or Niners or another team he feels is "worthy" of him.
Good luck finding another sucker.

They can push the cap hit to 2026 if they mark him as a post-June cut/trade. That saves them $10m in 2025. By then they would have a rookie QB so they could eat the dead cap.
Still makes more sense to keep him for 2025 tho and let him play out his deal. His cap hit next year is only $23m. It's really not that bad.
In many ways both the Jets and Rodgers have LEVERAGE in this situation as to what they want to do. So I would expect drama to ensue as per usual with Rodgers.
It seems hard to believe any team would want the Rodgers circus coming to town after how this year finished up. Yes Rodgers still has a really terrific arm. But he was always a guy that needed to be mobile to be at his best and that mobility has really declined.
The other thing that looks obvious when Iâve watched him, he gets panicky when heâs under consistent duress. As a younger guy he almost never played that way as he believed his pocket quickness and quick release could allow him to release the ball and protect himself. He no longer believes he can protect himself and it causes him to hurry more throws than he really needs to.
Who knows, maybe thereâs some sucker team that thinks they can fix him but I donât think heâs capable of ever being an above average NFL starter again.
IOW past performance is no guarantee of future performance. I truly believe his days as an elite player are over.

As is the case for every QB over 40 in the history of the NFL except for Brady. He's like any old washed up player. He's just a name now.
Yep, he's hoping to cash in on more big money once more before he rides into the sunset of obscurity. Oh, he'll get his name in the news somehow after his career is over, but this Jets experiment is tarnishing his legacy.
Rodgers should cut his losses and retire. The writing was on the wall his last season in GB, and it's gone downhill since then.
As we are so fond of quoting, "Father Time is undefeated." Unfortunately, so are some players' egos undefeated.
