Never heard that before
Gary appears to have been the likely pick even if the Packers were picking higher (#8) with more options available to them. Hard to disagree with their assessment that he was one of the best players available based on his athletic ability. Now it's up to the coaching staff to squeeze the production out of him.
That tightness definitely shows up on film. This dude is going to have problems turning the corner on NFL tackles. That's the elephant in the room no one seems to talk about. That 1.63-sec 10-yard split might help if we line him out wide on the tackle, but only on the weaker tackles. For him to dominate he'll need to develop his hand play.

Heck, I guess I've been 'dominant' for a couple of decades now!!
‘Splains why you like Gary. You’ve gone blind.
Scouts talk not just about consistent hand placement, but also about the violence of a playa's hand thrusts.
If PACLANDVA is as dominant as he proclaims to be, he has likely not only gone blind, he has gone broke as well.
No man as big and strong as Rashan Gary should be able to move as fast as he does. It’s truly frightening to see it live.

No, an inflatable f**kdoll that looks like Henry
It's a best seller and I didn't even have to like my own posts.
"He wants to be great," Pettine says of Rashan Gary. A lot to learn but "you love his effort."

But I heard that effort was his negative? 🤣
Here's to this guy being truly special!
Just be better than AJ Hawk and then we'll go from there.

Hawk was another Mandarich, Juiced up and sped up in college through chemical means. Hits the NFL and is suddenly is slower, lighter and not nearly as good.
Gary never struck me as being juiced up. In fact it looks to me like he could become much more defined and needs to hit the weight room.
He says he’s 10% body fat, at ~270lbs.
Bust!
The article claiming Jones was 5% is hilarious. No, no he's not. Thats not healthy nor is it sustainable for more than a few days.
AJ Hawk was in the hyperbaric chamber!
Moving right along.....

Agreed! Bodybuilders in competition form are at 5%, and it is not a pleasant state to be in. Also, no way Gary is at 10%.
Gary might have been there for a week or two. That's not sustainable long term. I bet once TC opened he was stacking the calories. Jones probably dropped the 1 from 15%.
Is that 10% by mass or volume?

Whatever, DK Metcalf got down to like 1.6%. He's a reverse Kardashian, he's having fat removed instead of being injected.

And Mandarich was in was in a hyperbolic chamber.
Bringing the dad jokes hard today.

LOL. DK actually looks more like 10% body fat to me. Some genetic freaks might actually sustain that for a long time, but not many. Getting lower than that will make you sick and it will destroy your athletic ability.
I don't think you're supposed to count his head in the calculation.
I was sick once during wrestling season. Went to the doctor. He said I had 6% body fat and I should quit wrestling. I said "ok". I hated wrestling.
Man, I've heard so many stories from guys that used to wrestle in HS and college. The fasting they would do the day leading up to the weigh in. Jumping jacks in a 95 degree room wearing garbage bags. And then if they had to reschedule the weigh in for whatever reason they thought they were gonna die. All ready to eat about 8,000 calories 5 minutes after their weight was official.
Wrestlers are cray cray.

I remember lots of chew and lots of spitting.

I remember seeing college wrestlers carrying around towels to spit into all day long to try to make weight. (yuck) Cowboys spit into a can. (yuckier)
At Milwaukee Riverside in the late 70’s , there were three winter sports for boys....basketball, swimming and wrestling.
My vertical limits and my aversion to hot smelly groin grabbing led me to the captaincy of the swim team.
Better swimmer's ear than wrestler's ear!
