My hat is ajar, (pre-doff mode). But I do appreciate your enthusiasm.
Exact same pick they used on another safety who now plays for a division rival. That player turned out to be a huge disappointment and I anticipate Savage will end up being a much better draft choice.

This dude is going to be so freaking special. I can't wait to see him play for the Green & Gold. Even more so considering we have a pass rush now, which will help our entire secondary.
Watching Savage key on plays, discern exactly what is about to happen, then burst to the apex (run or pass) is pretty damn fun to watch, and knowing he'll be doing that with Amos, King, Alexander, Jackson, Brown, Hollman and Jones alongside is going be about as effective as it gets in a defensive backfield. There is no quit in him. A complete student of the game on the level of Blake Martinez, and an extremely intelligent, hard working player who LOVES to play football.
Darnell Savage added to this team is going to make for a serious group of ball hawks.
Can we get some optimism in here, please?
I think Savage will lead the Packers to become a dynasty that will put the Lombardi era to shame. Not 5, Not 6, Not 7, but 8 World Championships with Savage leading the way.
How's that for optimism?
I think Savage's biggest contribution will be learning to grow spare body parts in the lab for our injured. There will be no stopping the Packers then.

He has really smooth skin too.
Great bubble.
Too good.
Good article on the D and Josh Jones
No itâs not...

I agree with the article that there would be playing time for JJ. Disagree with the article that Gary is a DE, he has been playing OLB in OTAs - in a similar role as the Smith brothers. The authors preference for a true DE shows why he projects him there and ignores OTA reports. Also, the author has evidently missed all the reports that talk about the disruption part of the defense. That means when an opposing offense comes to the LOS they will probably be looking at something they did not expect. That translates into different player packages and alignments that will blurr the traditional 3-4 or 4-3 looks - which his article takes as absolutes. And I would not be overlooking Keke as the year goes along. As for JJ he has a lot of good things going for him except his head. If he gets that figured out he will be a good player - IMO. In that respect Amos is better than JJ. JMO.
Josh Jones' absence opens door at safety for holdover Raven Greene, newcomer Mike Tyson
Love to have some optimism toward Jones, but keep coming back to the fact the coaches felt Brice was a better option. Think Jones is a guy with all the physical tools that never will put it together between the ears.

If you scroll down & read the comments, the author proposes that we could have traded Jones to the Giants for a SECOND round pick ..... the author lost all credibility with that statement.

YA, thatâs not even a mediocre article. Itâs so bad.
Savage was the only player I really wanted us to take, the most important player for us. Felt if we drafted him, the draft would be a success. Everything else is gravy. I was shocked Gutey traded up to snap him for the Packers. Bold.
Let's be honest, if this guy is an average safety he will be a huge improvement. I'm hoping for more though!
Savage has been placed on the non-football illness list ??

Just saw he got his wisdom teeth taken out. Whew.
So he's gonna be dumb now.
I was impressed with Savage last night. He showed good range and was around the ball a lot. This kid has a chance to be a stud.
Nick Collins flashbacks.....
Seeing a Safety actually break on a ball was a nice change from years of watching HHCD, Burnett, MD Jennings, etc. all just kind of trail receivers, wait for them to catch, and then make/miss the tackle. I expect Savage will blow some plays with his aggressive style, Nick Collins did, but he will make up for them with big plays, like Collins did.
Darnell Savage picked off Flacco this week, forced a fumble on Cousins last week, and dropped a pick against Trubisky in Week 1. Not to mention the way he attacks the LOS.
Strong start for the rook. Thanks Gutekunst and ABM.
Ohhhhh for the days of Tiger Greene
Just had a hunch we were going to draft him.
Heâs already catching buzz for Defensive Rookie of the Year. So far, pretty hard to keep him out of that discussion.
He also had a great tackle on Lindsey just before the first down marker in the middle of the field. Not splashy but it's the kind of play that your centerfield safety has to make ten times out of ten.
We haven't had this type of safety in play in years. Sure makes a difference.

What? We didn't even draft Tiger Greene.
We did sign a Raven.
