No way.

Way to good on Special Teams. I'd bet Boris's left nut that Janis is in GB and on the active roster next season.
I don't get the JJ hate. He comes in after training camp and still ends up the best WR on the team this year. I know he's slow, but he outplayed everybody else. I don't believe that if given a shot, he wouldn't be one of the top five wideouts in training camp next season. And it's not like he's expensive.
I'm tired of hearing about potential. Do something on the field. Or do enough in practice to get on the field.
Ok......rant over.

If we have the offense of old with Jordy and crew...no need to panic.
It would be nice...but not a priority in my opinion.
Too much handwringing and throwing out the baby with bath water around here lately.
Right, the offense simply kicked ass this year. Let's just hope for the same for next year and be rest assured there is no way Jordy is going to get injured again.
It's not hand-wringing when your offense rounds out the bottom of the league.
If you emotionally react to every problem as if Jordy's injury now defines the future of the offense.
Yup...that's hand wringing.
Hyde will be on the team next year.
I don't get any sense that there is JJ hate. I just don't think he will be on the team next year. Doesn't take away from what he has done this year in any way.
Also cannot think of a reason Hyde won't be on the team. I get that Tom Tedson hates him and all moves seem to be designed to screw Micah over, but he is signed for a reasonable contract in 2016 and no one has beat him out yet. Maybe ROTT is trading him to the Browns, that would be the ultimate screwjob.

Say what now? You are the one who posted:
"If we have the offense of old with Jordy and crew...no need to panic."
So who is saying Jordy defines the future? You, or... you?
And who is this "crew" you speak of? Ty Montgomery? He will basically still be a rookie.
The Packers need a better tight end. I think it should be a top priority. It's my take on what would make the team better. Not sure how that's either panicking or being too emotional. I mean we are, in fact, drafting this Spring, along with everybody else, and the offense's production this year was not good. That's not emotional, it's mathematical.
James Jones did a great job for the Packers this year, and if it wasn't for the numbers game he'd probably be back in Green Bay next year.
But Ted will take a look at the WR depth chart and see: 1. Nelson, 2. Cobb, 3. Adams (absolute lock to make team, see where he was drafted), 4. Montgomery (absolute lock to make team, see where he was drafted), 5. Janis (special teams), 6. late round rookie pick or Abbrederis. Even if Janis is a zero contributor on offense he still has the inside track because of special teams play. Ted could avoid the WR position completely in the draft but with the injury problems in 2015 it's more likely he takes one...if it's early then the player is an obvious lock to make the roster but if it's later then he battles Abbrederis for a roster spot. If a training camp injury occurs with Nelson or Cobb or Adams or Montgomery...then a roster spot opens up and the Packers can keep both Abbrederis and the rookie.
Would love to see Jones back next year but it's hard seeing him fit in with what they already have. Abbrederis definitely appears to be on the hot seat too...he needs to turn some heads and it sounds like there will be an opportunity for him to do so this weekend.

I agree Hyde will be on the team because of his reasonable price tag; however, I disagree that nobody beating him out has anything to do with it. I think it has more to do with the coaching staff placing a premium on experience.
Example, Guntner has shined in every opportunity he has been given, yet they play, or activate, Goodson over him the majority of the time. Only logical explanation I have is that Goodson has the year of experience over Guntner.
With Cobb and Monty filling the slot positions, if there is a a odd man out right now for 2016 it's Abby. He adds value on special teams as a returner only while Captain Caveman has excelled on both coverage and return units.
That said, he has a chance to change all that Saturday.
If Abby could have grabbed that punt returner gig, it would really help his cause.
I don't think JJ will be back and Ted won't pick WR early enough, Abby will be the 5th WR on the team, Janis! the 6th as a special teams guy.

Gunter better be there next year. I like his potential.

I was thinking this was his final contract year, but looked it up, it's next year. W/ Burnett and Clinton-Dix were under contract and Hyde would sign as a starter elsewhere.
TT ALWAYS drafts at least 1 wide receiver. I'm sure he'll take at least one this year. As much as our guys struggled w/o Jordy this last year, I think he'd be foolish not to. I'm also sure he'll need to get at least some good backups on OL.
I'm curious about how they address Lacy's drop off in performance this year. Maybe they should ask him to stay in G.B. During the offseason and make sure he's working out and watching his diet and weight. Let's face it -- he let us down this year when we needed him the most. We needed that 2nd dimension with Jordy down. Yes he had some good games, but a lot of lame games.

Goodson plays STs. Gunter doesn't.
I hope TT drafts another WR - one who can present matchup problems outside. Jordy is an unknown coming back from the ACL and Adams may or may not turn it on. Cobb and Abby are slot WRs. Not sure if Abby can play outside or not.

This.
Seriously, it's how it's going to happen. The only way I see that changing is if the BPA at our draft position is a receiver.
I can see projects drafted late to be on the PS or for camp battles with extra picks, that's it really.
If that happens and 3,4,5 and 6 don't step it up, I'm going to host my own little pity party. I'll invite JJ.......he won't have anywhere to be.
I guess MM is sticking with Hyde on PR because of experience and savvy. Maybe next year we'll see Abbs back there more.
TT has picked WR in the 2nd round before. That's plenty high to find a good one.
Janis and Abrrederis showed against Arizona they can play in the NFL in the hardest of circumstances. The part that is hard to swallow is, it shouldn't have come to those circumstances. They both should have been getting playing time way sooner in the season, just like Aaron Rodgers said, and Charles Woodson said, and reporters for the Press-Gazette and the Sentinal said, and many of us said.
It's no secret what happened to the passing game this year and what the root of the problem was and what inspired the blueprint for defenses to stop us: no deep threat and receivers' inability to get open. Janis and Abby would have gone a long way towards remedying both of those problems, and in altering how opposing teams defended us. Instead, Mike trotted out the same combination of Jones and Adams on the outside and Cobb in the slot, and defenses just licked their chops and covered them.
I love Mike McCarthy and have much respect for him and I don't think I know more than him and go ahead and flame away and all that, but I just scratch my head at the personnel decisions involving receiver this year. Davante Adams, when he came back, I don't care what he did last year or at Fresno State or where he was drafted, he was just clearly and obviously and visibly not ready to start. He couldn't run, he couldn't cut cut, his routes were awful, he couldn't jump and he couldn't catch. Our coaches' collective response? Give him more snaps. Actually, give him ALL the snaps, snaps which could and should have gone to Janis and Abbrederis.
I realize it is not fair to Davante since he was starting to play better when he got injured and there is no way to prove Janis and Abby played better against Arizona than he would have, but I can't escape the feeling that playing Davante for all those games when he wasn't ready, and not giving Janis and Abbrederis more playing time, was this season's biggest mistake. It just seems like they started getting on the same page with the QB as the game went on, and it makes you wonder how good it could have been with a few games under their belts.
Anyway, end of subject and the season, and looking forward to the competition at receiver next year.
Word.
It's difficult, almost to the point of impossible, to NOT trust in the coaches.
I don't know that tonight's game "proved" they should have been playing more snaps, or that the coaches were right all along. I suspect the truth is somewhere in the middle...
What Pistol said. Sir Charles knows football, and he knew the Pack was underutilizing Janis....
Couldn't agree more with Pistol GB on his post.
If last night's game showed anything, it showed that the Packers wasted a lot of game snaps on Adams this season. I don't think Abbrederis even had that great of a game (4 catches, 55 yards and dropped the first ball that was thrown to him), but how many games did Adams have this season have that was better than that? Probably just the Carolina game.
One thing is for certain, the Packers have a lot of really stubborn people in their organization.
I've complained for some time how ridiculously stubborn Thompson is to get rid of some of his bust draft picks.
But Big Ted doesn't operate in a vacuum. When it comes to Adams the process very likely worked like this. Sam Seale scouted him and recommended him to Thompson. Thompson liked what he saw and then sent his evaluation to McCarthy and Clements and Bennett. Considering Adams was a high round draft pick, it's almost certain that he had the full seal of approval from at least these five individuals. Taking snaps away from Adams would be McCarthy/Clements/Bennett collectively admitting they made a mistake, and it certainly appears none of them were willing to do that.
I still think Adams will be a good NFL player. But next year when training camp starts he definitely should have no advantage over Abbrederis, Janis or any late round rookie draft pick as far as making the team.
I'd bet the WR depth chart looks pretty close to Nelson, Cobb, Adam, Montgomery, Abbrederis, Janis next year. They need a deep threat outside of just Nelson but the draft needs to fall the right way for that to happen. Janis is probably the best option, so hope he builds off last night.
IMO, they need to focus on getting a real receiving TE in here and completely revamp the playbook. A legit receiving TE with the threat of Nelson over the top would create so much room for our guys to work in the intermediate area. Cobb and Montgomery would thrive with that kind of room to operate. But MM needs to bring back slants, crossers, bunch formations, etc. and limit the number of "sideline outs". They need to focus on giving our offense a rhythm again and not rely on Rodgers to pull something out of his ass.
And since this an Abbrederis thread.........he can build off this season. He was healthy, gained AR's trust and stepped up in a big game. He needs to get bigger so hopefully he stays in GB or gets into a great program and puts on 5-10 lbs of muscle. He makes Hyde replaceable as a punt returner too. Lot to like about him if he can stay healthy.
For **** sakes. Add Jared to the growing IR list. Per WTMJ, also going on IR with thigh injury.
Jeebus, though I do wonder if this is a thigh injury or a "thigh injury" .
"Contusion" is the term they used. His future as a Packer appears pretty iffy to me.
Well that might explain why he hasn't had many reps
For all we know he got hurt in training camp and hasn't gotten better. You would never know with this staff.
They need healthy bodies now. Like Banjo, I bet Abby could be back in a few weeks, but both are on the bottom 3rd of the roster and can be replaced.
Contusion...Yeah I could get that bumping uglies with the wife. Coach told me to "rub some dirt on it" & get back in there!
The #Packers promote Geronimo Allison per league source.

Interesting move.
Match-up. 6'3", 203. He can work the middle.
They putting him at CB so he can cover Julio?
Amazingly Abbrederis wasn't felled by another concussion.
Typo: Contusion = Concussion
I think Abby is probably done in the NFL. He grew up near my home town and for someone from Wautoma High School to be a star at UW and then play for the Packers checks almost every box that a Wisconsin native would possibly dream of.
His problem has never been talent or football smarts, those are both abundant in him. He was a star track athlete in high school - the speed was definitely there. He is just a guy that's extremely injury prone or unlucky with injuries. He broke his femur as a sophomore in high school. There were the concussions in college and the various injuries as a pro.
If this is it, he'll have made over a million dollars playing football and got his bachelors degree from Wisconsin. Hopefully he has no concussion-related problems, gets a job doing what he likes, and maybe coaches high school football.
