It's only gonna be that much sweeter when I'm right. After this I'll be the mayor of this board!!

I'll let you "test drive" X4 if you are right, how's that?

You must be right about Favre retiring at this press conference on Monday April 24th 2006. If this is true the lid won't stay on it very long.

Good luck!

Thanks FRZ! I think Favre will announce this weekend and TT will answer questions on Monday. Of course TT is gonna label the conference on Monday as a pre-draft conference, if he called it a Favre announcement conference his phone would be ringing off the hook all weekend. Do you guys like your crow baked or grilled? I'm just happy I'm able to share this news with my brethern at X4 about 2 days before the rest of the world!

You must've had the wrong number. If ESPN got that info, Clayton, Schefter and Mortenson would be sounding the alarms.

Can you give me a link to the ebay auction this is listed under? I did searches on "poopy Favre" and "crappy old QBs" but nothing is coming up.

Thanks.
Assuming that ecb's brother isn't so "well-connected" that it was Brett himself or, say, T2, M3, or Bus Cook, who was on the other line, which I imagine he'd have mentioned to his bro if so...

Don't you suppose that if Brett (as I'd assume in such a scenario) told his family, then, say, the above insiders, one of whom told at least one other someone, maybe more links in the chain or maybe not, but one of those people got around to telling a part owner of the Red Sox, who told his brother...don't you suppose that by now there would be other major bombshell "leaks" spouting along that chain letter somewhere? Or maybe none of the others have a brother who might be interested in this newsflash that the whole country is apparently on pins and needles about? That by now the lid wouldn't have blown with "informed sources" being quoted? Just something about the math in that equation just doesn't scan for me.
Hog wild? It's Friday night and I am not working so I can post more. Please. Look, I have supported Ted Thompson through a lot but the greatest Packer of my time asked for one thing from Thompson. He asked him to go sign some difference makers. Thompson should known by now that you have to overpay for those types of players because they don't come around often. Lavar Arrington may have some injuries in his past but so does Ben Taylor. Sure Ben Taylor came a lot cheaper but what the heck has he accomplished in the NFL?
OK, I like Arrington too and would have liked to see him in GB, but I wouldn't over pay for him. I said before that GB could offer more than anyone but if NY wanted to give him anywhere's close to what he wanted, that's where he was going. He wants to play against the Skins twice a year. He said that from the get-go. I can't see anyone getting all upset with TT not overpaying him when he didn't want to come there in the first place.

If you knew that Arrington didn't want to come to GB, then don't you think Thompson would have known that. Why even bring him in for a visit then? All it does is benefit Arrington and the Postons.

Gosh you guys can be so funny!
[QUOTE]

GM Ted Thompson

Muh Fella Americuns,

Four months and 20 days ago in the year of our Lord 2006, the Green Bay Packers finished 4-12 with a loss at home to the Seattle Seahawks. At that time great speculation, contemplation and consternation was given to the issue that our quarterback, Brett Lorenzo Favre, may retire and therefore leave the beloved family of the Green Bay Packers. It is my sworn and solemn duty to inform you that......"

The Packers of Green Bay Wisconsin will not trade, nor release Brett Favre from the job he loves so dearly and I speak to you so sincerely.

As general manager I vouch for him,
Thoroughly examined him.
And he not only loves Green Bay
he most sincerely wants to play.

Fa-la,la,lala lala lala; Fa-la,lala lalaahhhh...

I called this conference of the press
to bare my soul and to you confess
That we not only love number 4
We most dearly want him more.

So, with the first pick of the 2006 Draft the Green Bay Packers plan to select in round one....

And in round two...

Who's is panic mode? All I am saying is that this team will not be a Super Bowl contender. Quit making stuff up.

I don't feel like setting up a poll on this but I doubt very much whether any knowledgeable Packer fan believe there was anything more than a snowball's chance in hell of the Packers being a SB contender this year or next.

Personally, I doubt very much whether this team will improve by more than 3 wins.
