I just feel this is gonna be James Jones II.

I think he'll hit the free market and find no one willing to pay his price.

I just hope it doesn't then end up as Cullen Jenkins II. Though I think it might....

Center dismisses talk of Packers' interest in him.
Free agent center Chris Myers says he wants to stay with the Houston Texans, and dismissed reports that surfaced at the NFL Combine of the Green Bay Packers' interest in him.

“News to me, man,” Myers told 610 AM in Houston in a story picked up on the Texans website. “I don’t know what was going on. I’m just like anyone else reading that type of stuff, but it is what it is. In the long run, I want to be here in Houston, so that’s what I’ve been telling everybody when everyone asks me stuff, and that’s what it sums up to be. I want to be here. I want to see things through, and that’s the way it is. So that’s kind of the bottom line of my thinking.” continue
While it's only the Bleacher Report, they rank Wells #3 at center in teh league behind only Myers and Mangold. That would be another reason for TT to try and figure out the market price on Wells before Free Agency starts.

Center Rankings

In other interesting tidbits they ranked Marshall Newhouse #31 at LT (ahead of only Charlie Johnson), Brian Bulaga as the #2 RT (losing out to Eric Winston only due to missing four games and the minor durability knock it scored).

Which means it fine to stop reading right there.

It's more interesting that the conference call I was on. I hate Mondays.
Sometimes inlife you get what you pay for. Wells is rated the #3 Center in the league, so pay up and keep him. It's utter hubris to think that kind of talent is easily replaceable. We're only a season away from a super bowl, we don't need to rebuild! OL chemistry is very important; why screw with it?

I think that sounds about right coach. I've said this all offseason, Wells is a core player and the leader of that OLine, they're not going to want to lose him. Just a little hardball right now. Can't imagine either side wants a divorce.
