Why so bitter?

Pack wanted to get rid of him a few years ago, why should he bend over backwards (or forwards) for them?

Oh, and didn't he get a ring with the Packers?

Also, besides the money, some of these professional athletes take pride in the challenge of maybe helping another team get better.

Rams have Jeff Fischer, and a crapload of extra picks thanks to Washington.

Rams have Steven Jackson, still one of the top 10 running backs in the game, and he's not yet 30 (will be 29 this season). Sam Bradford is a great young QB. He just needs somebody to throw to. He's got his tight end in Lance Kendricks from Wisconsin. Watch the Rams go out and get Justin Blackmon from Oklahoma State. Bradford just got his center. Rams can go out and draft a left tackle with their additional second round pick. In the next two years, the Rams can use those two additional first rounders to draft a running back to replace Jackson, and another offensive weapon, or a pass rusher.

Three years from now, Wells will still be there, and the Rams will not suck imo.
Nope, Scott wasn't bad at all. Had a nice career for the Packers, and I wish him well in St. Louis.

While I would like to see Ted do something in free agency just to break up the monotony/boredom, I know that Ted has his plan, and is sticking to it. The initial free agency feeding frenzy goes hand in hand with absurd contracts, and we have to manage our cap room, especially with huge contract needs on the horizon (Rodgers, Matthews, Jennings). Once things settle down, Ted will add a few solid pieces to plug in the holes. D line and center will be addressed. A pass rushing outside linebacker, safety help and more d line help will come from the draft.

Trust Darth Va....er Ted.

If he maxes it out, looking at about 6.3 mil a year. GB was offering as much as 4.5 mil and reports were the max they wanted was a 3 year deal and little doubt much less in guaranteed money.

Cant blame Wells at all. At this stage of his career with a ring, take the money.

Good for Wells and a good deal for him. Players are one play away from never playing again. To sign a nice contract like this is what a small percentage of football players from high school on are able to do.

It's a business on both sides of the ball.

Sounds like Myers is staying put and being resigned. Now, TT is looking at other options a lot harder. Doubt he would want to go with a rookie center. Let's hope not.
I think the team would be willing to move up a couple spots to get Konz. He's everything Mike has wanted at center since he took over in 2006. If the Pack can get a big guy in there at center, swap Bulaga over to the LT spot and get Newhouse or Sherrod over at RT they will have a line built with guys that have power-blocker bodies and skill sets. Running the ball more effectively is just one small thing that can be done to give our (presently) crap defense a break.

I wouldn't have a problem with it. Although they have many other needs, the bottom line is that they will go as far as Rodgers takes them. A better job by the OL might have won them the game vs the giants just as surely as a better defense. Protect AR and you have a contender every year.
If this McGinn article from Feb is accurate, Wells got close to what he was asking the Pack for and about $2M more per than Ted wanted to pay.

Sources at the NFL combine with knowledge of negotiations said Friday that Wells' latest proposal to the Packers requested a deal averaging about $7.5 million.

The Packers, on the other hand, are believed to be offering somewhere between $4 million and $5 million.
