Pittsburgh has had a lot of misery since that 5 game sweep of the Brewers just before the All Star break in 2018. The way they are going, they might give the Marlins some competition for worst organization in the National League. At least they play in a nice stadium though.

If they can somehow get through the next 3-4 weeks while Davies, Woodruff, Chacin, and Nelson recover and be within 2-3 game of at least a wild card slot at the beginning of September it will be a great accomplishment. The fact that the guys that have made 65 of their 116 starts at pitcher are all currently on the DL is unbelievable. CC is as good as anybody at smoke and mirrors - which is what they are going to need.
It is a bit curious. We’ve added dynamic young players to fill gaps, and many are doing well in their roles, given the circumstances. This team could surprise many.
You’re right about CC. Love the guy. He’s a baller 100% and knows his craft, loves the game, and he’s unabashedly creative within its boundaries.
If Brewers could get significant, healthy returns off that IL, hell, screw the WC. We could take division again, coupled w solid play from new arms and players.
The two guys to keep an eye on are Devin Williams and Jeremy Jeffress. If those guys can get their act together they could be dangerous down the stretch.
