Maybe Opie could just kick the TE's in the balls
I'm still liking an ILB in the first round of the draft. Kenneth Murray, Green Bay Packer. Sounds good, doesn't it?
You he would be a great get. Did you see him vs. Baylor though, dude is going to get gobbled up in the top 15.

Double dip....the O would be better too.
If it's possible to cover someone from your knees or flat on your back Jimmy might be the guy.
They need a Myles Jack type player at LB. Someone that can run and tackle and occasionally cover a TE.
Martinez can certainly tackle but he’s an average athlete and really gets exposed in the passing game.

Me too. And anyone who brings up AJ Hawk as a first round draft pick, well, let's not take someone like him.
That's why you don't overpay for Blake.
Cracks me up on the comments. Someone says it's like watching AJ Hawk again.
Agreed.

"He was ranked the top linebacker prospect in the draft by Sports Illustrated, ESPN, and NFL analysts Charles Davis, Mike Mayock, Lance Zierlein, and Daniel Jeremiah. Jack was also ranked the top overall player in the draft by ESPN, the second best overall player by NFL analysts Daniel Jeremiah and Lance Zierlein, and the third best overall player by NFL analyst Charles Davis."
Yeah. What team doesn't need that type of player?

Then we'll just draft a MLB that's dating the sister of one of the first round QB's. It will work out fine.

Somebody taller, longer, faster and better. That's the job of the personnel staff, isn't it?
Maybe that guy is Burks. Maybe that guy is coming out in the draft. Maybe that guy is a FA. Whoever it is they need to find that guy.

Blark is not the answer

Time zone and retirement! Back in the day, on the road for work had nothing better to do at dinner than figure out a pithy game thread title and sit in my ass at a Holiday Inn Express watching football...now these 6:20 Mountain starts don’t even let me finish dinner....first world problem.
Now that you're retired you don't eat at Old People Time® like 4:00 PM?
Three diners within minutes of my house. Senior citizen discount begins at 4 pm and there’s not an empty seat to be had. 🤗

In PA - not FL. 😂 45 minutes north of Philly.
If it wasn't for us old people you bastards wouldn't even be here.
Now, get off my lawn!

Doesn't help on Sunday so I guess the team is doomed to fail.
Thanks to giving up 13 points, 15 points, and 13 points in the last 3 games, the Packers defense has moved to 9th in scoring defense now allowing 20.2 points per game.
Also, it could have been my Green N' Gold glasses or the Brandy Sours I was consuming yesterday, but it sure as hell looked like the Packers were tackling extremely well yesterday.
Guys like Clark, Martinez, Lowry, and the DB's were really wrapping up the Bores. I saw very little yards after contact. It sure would be nice to see that continue to trend in the right direction.

Unpossible.
Not to rag on Martinez more, but the Bears didn't really challenge him over the middle as often as better passing teams did. They also didn't try and hit him with speed east/west, which is when he tends to take bad angles. They tried to power run north/south, which is actually catering to his strength.

Good call. Hadn't even realized it but now that I think about it you may be right. Minus that horrible last lateral play. It wasn't just Preston that thought the last play of any game was two hand touch.
Packers rushing defense was very good the entire game.
The defense has been playing much better football since the SF debacle. Seems the team meeting had an impact. Having Campbell back helps as well.

Man, this guy just can't win. Even when it's pointed out that Martinez had a strong game we just can't accept it.
Not that anybody should care, but Martinez leads the league in tackles again with 140. He's on pace for 160 tackles on the season. 160 of the shittiest, worthless and meaningless tackles in the history of football.
He had 144 tackles in each of his previous two seasons
GB D is playing better largely because Kenny is back to being Kenny. This is also the #1 reason why Blake has been looking better. There may be something to Gary now seeing significant snaps too.
Last night watching the two LBs from the Steelers, one a rookie, and their ability to cover TEs and RBs.... that's what we need. Not Blark.
67 snaps last week with 2 or less linemen. I don't know if this is because we got nothing at DE or DT besides Clark or because Pettine takes stopping the pass first to the extreme.
Last week there were times where both Smith's, Gary and Fackrell were on the field together. I'd like to see more of that with Kenny Clark and 6 DB's or another wide body and 5 DB's.
They've been saving him......Ssshhhhh!!!
Martinez leads the league in tackles and yet wasn't even named as an alternate to the Pro Bowl. With few exceptions, most people see him for what he is - the definition of average.
Best way to shore up the defense is a consistent offense.

Not saying he should be in it but it's pretty clear that Pro Bowl status isn't a good indicator of who is/isn't the best players in the league.

Here's the thing with the Martinez debate. Bitch about Martinez all you want when the Packers actually have TWO ILBs. It isn't about overvaluing Martinez it's about wondering WTF happened to all the other ILBs.
Yeah Burks got like 3 snaps on defense Sunday. Coaches must not trust him. Bu... Granted it was the Bears offense but Pettine showing much more creativity now that guys like Campbell are available. He and Sullivan played a ton of snaps(94). Lots of hybrid and dime.
We'll see how they do against Queens offense on their fake turf.
