Favre loves his teammates in Minnie sooooo much, he prompts three of his "best friends" on the team to be sent to gruvel at his feet!! But of cousre, id asked, all three will claim it was their great love for Brent that prompted them to go to Hattiesburg and talk best friends **** with him, until he said, "Where's the plane? I'm ready to play!!"

If it's not a go in Minnie, Brent can blame the ankle and retire a "fallen" hero for giving it one more courages try.

This can't possibly true. This is Brett Favre. He plays for the love of the game. The money means nothing, the records mean nothing. He has that gay ritual of slapping guys on the ass which is just so awesome. He is a true warrior.

I swear all these idiots are made for each other. Col Klink, to Zygi, to the biggest homer announcer outside of Hawk Harrelson, to the love boat, to the poison pill, to the tampering with Brent. They don't start out with the Browns, Lions and 49ers this year. They have a tough go of it right out of the gate. 5 out of their first 7 games are all against playoff teams (really 6 out of 8 but Arizona is probably much different without Warner).

Bryant McKinnie said that he teased Favre about all the money he was going to make and Favre said "it really isn't about the money"

Then John Clayton says Favre is going to get that $3 million raise and a $4 million incentive then says we all know he's not doing this for the money but the love of the game (said in the same breath!).
The other thing to consider is that the NFL isn't golf Brent.

You can't simply walk onto the field (cold) and expect to play well when you are 40 and don't work out or practice. He's also probably delusional enough to think that everything will just fall into place like it did for him last year- HGH or not.

No cupcake schedule out of the gate this time around, and he's a year older and a lot fatter.

Throwing to HS kids might be good for the ego, but missing all this time at camp not only sends the wrong message to your teammates, but my honest opinion is that he needs that time to get his body and mind focused. Shootin' dillas on the ranch and pounding down bags of pork rinds won't get you there.

In the end though it doesn't really matter. We all know how this story ends. If he can't get back to the Superbowl (last year) despite having the best statistical season in his career it's not going to happen this year either. My feeling it that it's going to turn out badly- either in the form of a major injury or an INT meltdown (or both).

Can't wait for it all to unfold

FavreWatch: A raise of at least $3.5 million

By Kevin Seifert

Good early morning to you and yours. Before we really get started Wednesday, let's address one of the FavreWatch questions we left unanswered Tuesday. The Minnesota Vikings are planning to give quarterback Brett Favre a substantial pay raise now that he has apparently returned for a second season.

According to Judd Zulgad of the Star Tribune, the Vikings plan to increase his base salary from $13 million to $16.5 million for 2010. He also will have the opportunity to earn another $3.5 million in incentives, meaning he has the chance to earn up to $20 million this season.

But it's not about the money, of course.

I'm sure Chad Greenway, Sydney Rice, AP, Ray Edwards, Shiancoe and others with contracts coming up or who are just underpaid see it that way too.

Edit:

Then there's:

Meanwhile, in the video below, ESPN's Rachel Nichols provides an outline for the pitch Favre received from teammates Steve Hutchinson, Jared Allen and Ryan Longwell. According to Nichols, the trio grilled steaks with Favre at his home Monday night and ate a breakfast casserole provided by Deanna Favre on Tuesday morning.

The Queens had absolutely no contingency plan and I really can't fault TOG for using leverage to get the money.

It's hard to see how this whole fiasco produces respect for the coaching staff and organization in the locker room. If they begin to struggle and lose then things will get very ugly. Everything broke in their direction last year and I don't see that repeating again.

I suppose this is borderline conspiratorial. Everyone is clamoring for teams to come hit TOG all year long like the Saints did. But remember the National Fixed League implemented some new rules again this offseason about protecting defenseless players which includes the QB.

"Defenseless players include the quarterback in the act of passing the ball, the wide receiver in the act of making a catch, a kick returner or punt returner, a runner in the grasp or whose forward momentum has stopped, a quarterback after a change in possession and a kicker or punter who is standing or fading back after a kick."

Anticipating their cashcow returning, did the league tighten up the contact rules so diva boy won't get hit too much? Probably not. It's probably more about pumping offensive stats, but it wouldn't surprise me if TOGs return factored into it some.
