I'm going to quietly hope Ted and Dorsey have something all worked out. That's the guy I'd love to see running 1265 after Ted decides he just wants to scout kids.
Favre as GM and the media's attempts to glamorize it would be pretty entertaining.
"Trading 2 1st round picks, and old desk lamp, and Mike Daniels for a CFL punter and the rights to Jason Giambi? What a gunslinger he is!"
IR says they are trying to couple the hiring of the GM-HC. I wonder who the 2 Packer executives said they could work with as HC?
No to Favre in ANY decision making capacity.
You had me at "NO to Favre."
I could see Murphy doing it.
Try the veal.
Favre is great!
In a not great at all kind of way.
So who would GM Favre force in on the coaching staff? Because you'd know he'd want all of his pals on there.
Obviously, Mooch would have to be HC, even if he hasn't been relevant for a decade. There'd also be a spot for Gruden somewhere. Jenn Sterger is a lock for strength and conditioning.
Only one job in GB for the silver fox.
The real Silver Fox has been dead well over 20 years :

This explains your dumbass posts about the current Packer team.
Ted Thompson was hired by the #Packers 12 years ago today.

How do you feel at this point?
A) In Ted We Trust
B) Thanks But Time To Move On

Put him on the grounds keeping crew
Vic, it appears Ted knows what he is doing in free agency. I feel Peppers and Cook have been key to our winning streak. Do you think fans will now believe in draft and develop with a key signing now and again?
The savvy fans get it. They understand the nuances of the salary cap and roster turnover, and the devastating long-term impact a big free-agent contract gone bad can have on a team. The I-want-it-now fans will never get it because they lack appreciation for the total game. Their vision is narrow. They see only player-acquisition and play-calling.
I completely stopped reading "Ask Vic."
Don't know why, just lost interest in the mans perspective.
People keep saying Cook was a Free Agent saying by the Packers..Same with Peppers...they weren't TRUE Free Agents, they were street FA's, that had been released by their previous teams. There's a difference. I can almost bet anything that IF ted is back as GM next year, he will let Cook go..because he will want more money then ted is willing to pay, even if thats only like 6-7 mill per year. Cook is a MUST re sign at this point, but ted will hedge on it...he likes getting Walmart prices on players.
But TT likes to keep his own and Cook is now one of his. I don't think TT will overlook his value, even if he won't overpay for it, but I also don't think Cook will overlook the value of Rodgers and the Packer's yearly playoff potential.
Agree Doctor Bob. He said as much himself. He is loving it.

How does one go about taking that bet????

Me too. I just forgot about him for some odd reason.

6 or 7 million per year for an old TE? Thank goodness for TT.
The day greenNgold Blood becomes the GM:
WELL, Mr Cook:
I'll bet he doesn't top $5million per/three years with incentives and reasonable guaranteed money. If he continues to light it up in the playoffs.
Locker room after beating Dallas.
Pessemist tells you Jared loves the FA money Aaron is making him.
Optimist tells you Jared isn't ever leaving Green Bay.
I think Jared looks like a guy that finally found a home after years in QB purgatory.
Regardless. That's a great pic.

Yes it is Chilli, thanks for sharing.
I am taking the optimist view. Hoping he tells his Agent "Just get the contract done."
"Green Bay brain washes you" - Greg Jennings
"I ****ed it all up man" - Greg Jennings thoughts on a any November Thursday in Miami.
Cook has huge...tracts of hands.
Like a bunch of bananas hanging from his wrists.
Sticky bananas.
I hope TT brings in the CB equivalent this coming offseason.

You were doing well until you hit the "bet". Cook in in town, re-signing him would not cost them compensatory pick consideration like signing another team's guy would. If someone gives him ridiculous money, then yeah, he should count towards them getting a pick, but that's a lesser consideration. It'll be interesting to see what happens with free agents this offseason.

I don't think that's true at all. He pays for performance and if you're not re-signed it's either because a) you're demands weren't matching your performance or b) you're demands didn't match the long term salary cap plans of the team or c) both. He pays players handsomely, Rodgers is the highest paid QB in the league and our receivers are among the most well paid. I expect he will pay Adams, Dix, etc. according to their performance which is likely a hefty salary.
Cook's future depends on Cook, if he expects to be the highest paid TE in the league then that will be somewhere else. If his demands are reasonable and are beneficial to him as well as the team then I don't think there will be an issue. Same with Lacy. Ted has missed paying some players he shouldn't have (Hawk, Brad Jones, etc.), but he doesn't do deals that aren't team friendly. As dumb as it was to pay Hawk and Jones all that money, their contracts were manageable to dump. If Cook will accept a deal that will pay him, but will be team friendly then I doubt Ted balks.
Highest paid QB in the NFL (average annual salary) is Luck, followed by Brees, then Flacco, then Aaron. Aaron and Russ Wilson essentially make the same per.
Thanks Ted.
I want Micah Hyde and Cook resigned. Eddie would be third on my list.
and Crosby and Perry and TJ Lang and ... glad it's not my job.
