What’s hysterical is Meyer is 3x the guy that Lincoln Riley or Brian Kelly could ever dream to be.  In the college game, his only checkmate is Saban and it’s not like he’s a spring chicken.

If I’m LSU or USC I will have serious buyers remorse if good ole Urb is on the market.

LSU is going to have remorse no matter what. Kelly gets outcoached in every big game he's in. He'll get crushed in the SEC. He didn't make a good first impression with that fake southern accent when introduced at an LSU Basketball game.

Kelly can coach. He's won everyone he's ever been. He was one of the most successful D2 coaches in history building the GVSU program from the ground up. He won at Central Michigan and Cincinnati before Notre Dame.

80% of college football games for the elite teams (Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State, LSU, and a few others) are won 3 years before the ball is kicked off. Urban Meyer is not that great an Xs and Os guy. He's a great recruiter, just like Saban. Alabama and Ohio State each got 7 5-star recruits in the 2021 class. Wisconsin, the type of very good team that Alabama and OSU play 4-5 times a year in their conference (MSU, Iowa, Old Miss, Texas A and M, Penn State, etc.). Wisconsin has recruited 4 5-star recruits this century.

I'm not sure Kelly can recruit well enough at LSU to win a national title, but he can coach. Kelly, like a lot of other guys, sometimes looks like he is badly outcoached because the other teams he's faced in the playoffs just have a lot better players overall. It's not like he's running the patented Paul Chryst fullback dive 3 times a game on 3rd and 4th and 1.

To me, the single greatest sporting event is the NCAA basketball tournament.   If college football expands its playoff format to 12 or 16 teams that might make it almost perfect.

Pro football is fine and everything, but unless your team is consistently good they could get rid of half the pro teams and no one would care.

The fact that a lot of fans would rather watch the NFL draft than actual NFL games tells you a lot.

College football rivalry games rule!

He's just been a dipshit asshole all along.

Yes, but the college players were understandably reluctant to speak up
I love what these guys wrote:

"No longer allowed to behave like a tyrant with unpaid college players, Meyer appears comically out of his depth in a league where he is coaching millionaire grown-ass men. "

At the end of my first week of freshman football at Boys Tech in 1974, Coach Parkinson lifted me off the ground by the hair in back and asked me if I thought it was time for a haircut….reported Monday with a crew cut.

We’ve gone soft.

If the "Head Ball Coach" kicked me I'd knock him the fuck out.

Ask the "Head Ball Coach" about soft after his fucking teeth are gone.

I never really was an Urban hater, but I probably should have been.  He comes across as a decent guy as a studio analyst, but I think that’s truly a phony persona.

I think what we’ve seen and heard of his behavior the last few months is the real version of him. He’s a douchebag of the highest order with a twisted moral compass.
