I realize I post a lot of useless crap about the Vikings and their fans. I can't help it. I'm fascinated at the fragile manner Viking fans try to navigate their aimless teams road to mediocrity. I'm also a big fan of humor. I get a huge helping of both.
This AP situation brings all of it together gloriously. They want to hate him for being a child abuser but they are equally terrified of him going someplace else and pulling a Percey and winning a ring. This Viking fans post is all of that rolled into a few sentences:
"I love it. Play hardball with the child abuser. Call his bluff. I'm sick of his pathetic poor me I'm the victim spiel. He is the only reason this whole scenario exists. Period. Play in purple or retire you kid beater"
That is pure "get lost" and "don't ever leave us" at once. And when you think things have reached their apex, the humor kicks in. That post led to this exchange...

The self righteous Minnesota nice crowd is at it again. I bet if I pulled your records, you'd be written up for violence against kids, women, etc at some point in your life. Everyone has a temper and a breaking point. Peterson got carried away, but he's not a child abuser.
