Any ideas? Who is available? Who "fits" our organization? My bet is with Wolf.

I don't think this is a knee jerk reaction or recent development. There was a reason neither Wolf nor Gutenkunst were even mentioned for the CLE GM opening or the more recent NYG GM spot.

We heard rumors that some of the 2017 off-season moves were driven by Eliot, maybe this has been the plan for a while now?

Per Murphy, he already has a succession plan in place.  http://www.espn.com/blog/green...-whenever-it-happens

If the above are true, I see a business guy like Ball getting an elevated role akin to GM with coach firing/hiring and salary cap authority, and then the picking of players left to a Wolf, Gutekunst or Highsmith.  And TT trundles off to be a Super Scout, which is what he appears to enjoy.

Maybe Eliot was quietly handed major decision-making earlier this year, and now either TT decides to step aside or Murphy decides to push him aside and almost take the training wheels off.

If this truly has been in the works for a while, I wish they had done this during the season when Dorsey was available.

Curious what they will be looking for, if they want someone with ties/experience with GB or someone completely new. I’m guessing Wolf is the guy, but they will look around. I wonder if they were legitimately worried Wolf would leave this offseason?

I still say, Murphy's first call should be to John Schneider and seeing if there's any way he wants to come back home.

Will never happen, the Hags took that clause out when they extended his contract

Correct, he doesn't have a free out.

But, who's to say Seattle doesn't let him out of contract for a draft pick and cash?

I'd still ask even if there's a minute chance, as he's the best guy this side of Belichick.
