Last I checked Rodgers didn’t hold out, is still on this team and still under contract thru next year. So are we still crying about a draft pick here or what?

What I do know is we picked up no names that are having big contributions to the team for pennies while clubs like the Rams are picking up big names (Stafford, Von Miller, OBJ) with big contracts and are imploding.

Gute deserves all the praise in the world for getting the right guys at the right price for the right system that fits them.

Nope, it's about the FO being garbage overall that will drag this team back to the 80's when Rodgers is gone.

Rodgers contract next year is unworkable.  We have no idea what he may do.  Likely he stays but pretty sure nothing can be ruled out.  The whole situation never should've happened in the first place.  It was/is a colossal failure whether you want to admit it or not.

Again, if you think Gunt was so shrewd as to outfox every other GM when signing Campbell in June and pulling Douglas off a practice squad in October that's absurd.

He absolutely gets the nod for signing the guys but it can be nothing but coaching and team to get them to play at such an extraordinary level.  They weren't bargain material for nothing.

So the inference that Gunt was so wise when giving out bargain contracts for unsigned/PS players is a joke.  Coaching is absolutely the difference.  Gunt or Murphy or whoever can take credit for bringing in Mayo, who brought in the rest of the staff, including the two stiffs ST coaches because the FO lowballed one of the consistently best ST coaches in the league, but this exec of year shit is like the Pro Bowl in it's legitimacy.

The core issue with these fucking aholes is not committing to a championship until they were punched in the fucking mouth by the HOF QB they were trying to get rid of.

Love the team, love the coaching.  FO can go pound sand.  Murphy can't be gone fast enough.

I loved Favre but lost all respect for him after his retire-don't retire-retire again craziness. And the summer he did retire and then came back I was over him. I had no idea how Rodgers would do but felt with how Favre left it was time to give the keys to AR. Then going to the Jets and managing his way off the team to go play for the Vikings was the final nail. I was done with him. I wanted to see him hurt and broke in half. I celebrated every hit the Saints gave him in the Championship game.

Rodgers to me is different. He may go to another team and while I hope he loses when he plays for the Packers, I hope he has success wherever he would end up. He has given me enough pleasure over the years in watching him play to know there will be another like him and I got to watch him for a long time on my favorite team. But my first hope if for him to sign a new contract that keeps him in Green Bay until he retires. Five more years of an older Rodgers in Green Bay would still be better than any other QB that they could draft or sign.  Love or whoevever. Go Pack!

Favre was a completely different asswipe...his bullshit went on for years, and the org bent over both backward and forwards to accommodate him. He wouldn't truly listen to any coach once Mooch and Reid were gone. Then it was 100% the Bert Show when it was Rhodes, Shermy and McVince. He was damn near uncoachable...he always knew better.

Favre never would have stood up for team chemistry, keeping veterans around, treating them with respect. He gave zero shits about how others were treated. He just cared about himself.

With 12, there's a completely different set of reasons to hate him. Poor choice in women. Yoga hair. Horse paste.

It’s  worth putting up with #12's off-field antics for his production on the field.   All Favre did the whole last half of his career was throw season-ending INT's.

I've softened on NFL offensive players thinking they are invincible and the big egos that go with it.  You have 300 pound freight trains trying to break you in half every play you've earned a big ego in my opinion.

It's like Winston Churchill famously said, "There's no more exhilarating feeling than to be shot at without result."

Speaking of which, personally I thought half the reason Favre threw a lot of those INT's toward the end of his career was to avoid getting hit.  You don't see that with Rodgers.  The guy takes shots when he has to and plays fearless.  Love that about him.

Stokes is a good kid too. He flew out to Atlanta on the same plane I was taking after rams game. Countless people kept coming up to him for pictures and he graciously took them all with a big smile. If the fans apologized to him for bothering him he kept saying, it was OK and not a problem. When we were getting off the plane in Atlanta,  my grandson fist bumped and told him the defense was "FIRE". Whatever that means. Chandran sullivan was on same flight and was not getting a lot of love.

Gutey has significantly upgraded the roster.

In the end, Gute and Rodgers deserve credit along with MLF.  Murphy and Ball are still complete tools, but so what.

The team is 10-3.  Should be 11-2.

For all the shit about Gute, under his watch they added Jaire and MVS in 2018, Gary, Savage, and Jenkins in 2019, Dillon, Deguara, Runyan and Garvin in 2020, and Stokes, Myers, and Newman in 2021.

Jaire is a top 5 corner in the league.  I’d argue Jenkins is a top 10 OL in the league regardless of position.  Gary, Dillon and Stokes, and Myers are ascending players.  The other guys mentioned are starters or key contributors.

In free agency or trades, they got Z, Preston (and kept him), Bororquez, Dennis Kelly, and Rasual Douglas.  And D Campbell.

So yeah, I think he’s done his job and then some.

As for next year, let’s not forget the cap is expected to head north of 200MM.  That’s close to 25MM more than this season, or enough to keep at least Adams or Jaire if not both and rework Rodgers deal.

Yes he’s a diva but if he wants to win and continue to win Rodgers is best suited to do so in Green Bay.

Anyone that is unwilling to give Gutey the credit he deserves is simply bitter. He's done a fantastic job rebuilding this roster. And he did it using the approach that we wanted TT to take all those years: build the foundation via the draft, and use free agency and trades to supplement it.

He's also demonstrated the ability to recognize potential issues, including his shortcomings and mistakes, and attempt to address them. There were clearly issues in the Gutey-Rodgers relationship, and much of it appears to involve communication between the two (or lack thereof). This past offseason was ugly. But Gutey did a great job working through it, and the fact that the two are now embracing on the sidelines during practice suggests that they successfully put their differences aside, if not completely buried them, for the good of the team. I suspect that Gutey did more than his part to repair that relationship.

Gone are the days of trying to survive with Jason Spriggs and Alex Light.....

I had no idea if Turner was in or out for the last drive of the first half for a TD.

Never noticed him once in the 2nd half. That's all you can ask for at RT.

But I'd still give Veldheer a call.

Or a Ladarius Gunter at CB and Aaron Ripkowski at RB in the 2016 NFC Championship game.

Ted Thompson did a lot of great stuff, but I have no doubt that his stubborn refusal to add veterans to supplement the roster and insistence upon relying almost exclusively on those he himself brought into the league after 2011 cost the Pack at least one Lombardi Trophy.

Gunt and Uncle Milt definitely deserve praise for their early round drafts and initial FA moves.  No two buts about it.

One cataclysmic mistake wipes all of it out.  Fortunately, that fence appears to be mended but I'm still not eliminating the possible issues come offseason, which would likely be more on Rodgers side.  Basically, I'll believe it when I see it considering the dumbfuckery of the offseason.

I fucking love Campbell.  I love Douglas.  Please stop saying these are non-premium positions and hoping you get lucky chumming out one year burner contracts.  Of course other positions take precedent but you at least have to try to fill the other roles.  Yes, Rodgers kicking the FO in the face sure made for a lot of more FA action even on the scrub end of the pool and it's paid off.

I don't know who hired Mayo since there's so much smoke around the issue and WMM being a dope about Pat Fitzgerald but he and Matt Foley have been doing some great things.  I can see why Pettine and Mayo may have not been the best partnership, that's just a personality thing.

If Mayo and Foley are truly on the same page, and it sure the hell looks that way, then what you get is what we're seeing.  At no point and time last night did I think the Packers were going to lose.  It is exciting to watch this team again.

So is my ire particularly placed at Gunt?  Only for the Rodgers thing.  DON'T FUCK WITH YOUR HOF QB!  I don't care what kind of fucking flake he is.  Losing him makes all your good moves moot.  That is truly hubris and that is what really pissed me off.

I agree with Chongo.  Gunt has done some really good stuff but the whole Rodgers thing leaves me to believe he's got some learnin' to do.  Plus, get rid of the non-premium mindset that TT had.  I used to believe in it as well but it's clear this organization needed to evolve beyond that.  Gunt was off to a great start, fucked up huge and now looks like he's moving in a positive direction again.

Hopefully, MurphyBallz stays out of it.  Those two yanks will never get a nod from me.  They need to be gone.

Murphy needs to stay completely out of football operations.  And Ball's only action should be Gutey and MLF say this is the players we want and Ball works out the best contract and cap numbers.   It should be up to Gutey and MLF to decide if a player is worth those $$$$$.   If the player isn't then start the FA search.  Wash, rinse and repeat.

TT made a number of good moves in free agency.  Do Woodson and Peppers not ring a bell?  He also decided not to extend a number of guys and with exception of Hyde and Hayward he was right on all of them.

The issue I see is the 2015-2017 timeframe.  Clearly, TT wasn’t in his right mind drafting and I’m convinced it was Ball pulling the strings.

What’s insane is with as good as Gute has recovered can you imagine a T J W on this team?  They should have given Gute the job one year earlier.

It’s looking more and more IMO that Rodgers isn’t going anywhere in 2022. It seems this relationship has been repaired. Now obviously this would involve a contract extension and a major drop in his cap number in β€˜22. Which yes, Russ Ball can figure out. Then there’s that little matter of what do with Love should this happen…

12 seems to take on one self-improvement project per year in the off-season.

Let's hope this season he dedicates himself to not drinking whatever Kool-Aid his vagina du jour is peddling.

Olivia convinced him to blow off his family.

Danica convinced him to give up meat.

Sunny 'Gina convinced him the organization didn't appreciate him.

Grow a goddamn pair!

I can't imagine why GB would move on from 12.... or why 12 would move on from GB.  The only logical resolution is an extension to keep this train on the tracks.
