In terms of relevance, does anyone look at the track record of other GM's in the league instead of the unrealistic expectations of we, the fans?

Schneider has been been swinging and missing for years now in Seattle.

Belichick is finally on the upswing but his drafts/FA moves have been poor.

Lynch has been shit show in SF though Shanahan has his hands in that mess.

Mayock has been horrendous.

Those are off the top of my head.  Who am I missing?

Doesn't change the dumbfuckery of the FO, particularly alienating the guy that gets you to 9-3.

Exactly..   We were very close to having Love be the starting QB.   What's our record if Love is the starter this season?

Maybe a win vs the Lions and 1 vs the Bears.    Mybe the Steelers, Skins and Hawks.

At most you got 5 wins right now, probably closer to 3.

This team is good right now - a good part bc of gutey.  I have come around to believe(and understand) the biggest key to this team being great - not just good - is 12…if gutey works that out with him to stay; work this thing out until he retires - gutey  will be great.  We got a taste of life after ar- I was not thrilled-I am not gonna bitch about ar - he’s a weird complicated dude, I would not hang out with him personally but guy is real good at football.

I have to state that I have way more problems with WMMBallz than Gunt but he holds the title.

I'd really be interested to see what Gunt and Milty could do in the old structure where he had complete control.  The whole Rodgers thing though, major major strike against Gunt if certain information is to be believed.

We've been giving some credit to the FO (well, everyone but Henry ) for signing good players in Campbell, Douglas, etc. -- no matter how they fell to us -- but I think we are forgetting what the best signing has been: MLF. The FO signed him and he's put together the staff that we are -- rightly so -- crediting for getting this MASHed-up team to 9-3. Who knows where this team is without MLF, but I'm betting it's nowhere near closing in on a third division title in three years.

And we'll really see when Rodgers isn't around.

Fact, Rodgers makes everyone look good.  Maybe Mayo is a guy that can put something together and excel post Rodgers.  We don't know.

I really like what's happening with this coaching staff and team right now.  I think Mayo will continue to do a good job.

Very close… but we’re not. Love isn’t the starter, 12 is. Why are we dwelling on bullshit that never fucking transpired.

Can we not be happy?

We are 9-3 and on top of the NFC…. Yea, but what about….

Jesus fuck with the whatabout crowd.

There is no whatabout.  Rodgers leaving is inevitable and could've happened this season due to the FO.  We don't even know what happens next season.  Rodgers contract can't stay as it is and for all we know he may say fuck you to the Packers anyways.  Does anyone think it's beyond him?

I'm enjoying this season immensely.  Doesn't change the reality.

So when people start getting all "exec of the year" crap I'll be here to remind you all of the dumbfuckery and pray something happens that gets MurphyBallz removed.  Gunt can go back to personnel.

Something transpired.   I’m enjoying the season knowing it might be the last one for Rodgers in GB but I’m also not happy knowing we didn’t have to have that cloud over the season.

I’ll put money on Rodgers coming back right now.

Inevitable the hell. He’s reaping all the benefits and winning his ass off. He’s got a bunch of friends here and the chemistry in the locker room is unbeatable. He loves the coach and the system and the entire offense. He’s got the FO in the palm of his hand.

Now he even has a defense.

And if you were paying attention, he all but said as much before the vaccine brew-ha: β€œNo longer a foregone conclusion” (or words to that effect) and β€œreally enjoying how this is going so we’ll see” type statements.

Play the trends hey $50 easy money right now.

I'm not saying either way but it really doesn't matter what he says to the media.  For so many reasons.   If he knows he's leaving, he wants as much good will as possible among the fan base on his way out the door.  He doesn't want the Favre treatment to whatever his legacy will be.  And everybody knows his level of sincerity at the mic can vary greatly.

In a lot of cases, GMs are swinging for the fences with draft picks or FA acquisitions. Sometimes they knock it out of the park, and others are just a long fly ball out. Sometimes they strike out.
Other times, they may be trying to just get on base, and a single turns into a triple.

As far as the Packers are concerned, I do think there needs to be more separation between the football side and the business side. All the Titletown development, league matters, and personnel decisions on and off the field is a lot for one plate.

So you think Rodgers will play forever?

There is life after Aaron.

You guys seem to think this is only about Rodgers just like with Campbell.  It's about the FO.

Every time you guys try to sidetrack into homer land, I'll write a fucking novel pointing out every red herring and reiterating for the thousandth time what the issue is really about.

Try to bury that turd all you like.  I've got a backhoe.

Who you calling a hoe?

Outside of your complaints about the handling of Aaron, which funny enough i agree with even if i think that is mostly whiny Aaron’s fault, most of your complaints about the FO sound lame. Baseless claims with few solutions and the few solutions you did provide have long fallen on their faces.

IOW, Gute is a good GM. You would make a really shitty GM, and if i know you, no way you are kissing 12’s butt if you are GM. More likely to challenge him to a fight.

Back to the positivity for you girls.

This is a championship team.  Not necessarily because of talent levels but it's pretty clear everyone has bought in with Mayo and Matt Foley.  I truly believe this is what good coaching does, gets the best out of they players you have.  From super stars to chicken shit to chicken salad players.  Without a doubt this season is feeling 2010.

Please expand on this concept.

Are you saying Murphy and Ballz weren't in charge when TT and MM started to shit the bed hard?  Are you saying Murphy didn't try to buy off Favre?  Are you saying the mantra of fans in the seats to make the budget look good was more important than actually doing everything to win championships?  Are you saying Gunt doesn't have the same proclivities of abandoning positions wholesale much like TT did at the end?

The Rodgers thing alone was beyond idiotic and they deserved every bit of the criticism they received from across the sports world.  Defending some dumbass dinosaur philosophy only to have their nuts kicked up in to their mouths to actually act.  I'd seriously question Gunt's resolve to even bargain shop and look for trades like Mercilus if it wasn't for the rochambeau received from the dumbfuckery of the Rodgers situation.

Nothing baseless about it.

You are absolutely correct.  That's why I'm not a GM.  Hell, I've been offered so many management positions over the past 15 years it's stupid.  I turned them all down because I know I'm not a good manager.  Why?  Because I know what makes a good manager and I don't have the patience for people who don't work as hard as I do.

So, if you take a position of GENERAL MANAGER, you should probably fucking know it has to deal with managing.  Managing what exactly?  Well, football players.  Those guys that are the entire business.  Not computers, not concession stand nachos, not tube parking, not turf management.  Football players, and highly paid, spoiled football players.

Pretty sure Gunt is making good money to know how to manage.  I'd say he may need some more learnin' and not from the MurphyBallz School of Tough Guy Budget Tubing.
