This seems to be shaping up to be a classic corporate cluster.  I might be totally off base and talking out my rear, but my gut feels this is what is going down.  Ball spent the last years dealing with the business side of things therefore dealing with Murphy, where he became close to him, while Wolfe and Gut were out scouting players.  When it is time to make a move, Murphy is going with his "own  guy" which is basically how a lot of execs operate.  They know they can't keep Wolfe and give Gut a promotion with the idea that he can actually to the scouting/drafting.  This is irrespective of how MM or any of the players may feel.  I have worked in many organizations that operate this way and it doesn't end well usually.  This is Murphy's first decision he has made in 10 years as President (besides where to locate the new bloody mary bar) and he is showing his inexperience.

Don't worry. We have Jaymo and Butthurt Princess here for that!

There has to be a way to do that but it obviously creates a difficult situation for Schneider just by simply showing interest.  I think once that ball starts rolling and Schneider opens himself up like that, he has to be the guy GB hires one way or another.

I'm sure Schneider is the guy MM wants and I'm confident he will do everything he can to  build this team around AR in short order.

Ruffle those feathers, Mark.

I'm guessing once the request was denied, that Green Bay won't pursue anymore and upset the apple cart with the requesting process.  They asked, Sea said "no", the end.

Not quite cynical enough to believe this is all a show to provide cover for a predetermined outcome. Will agree that Mark Murphy is unlikely to press the issue or offer necessary compensation to Seattle.

I think all the "reports of interest in X" are just part of the smoke show.

In other news, reports are BB may be interested in NYG job.  MM to NE would melt every keyboard in timesfour.

I would love MM to go to NE so the world could see what I know, just how ordinary GOAT is.

Reading tea leaves but it seems like Schneider would like to be in GB, McCarthy would like him and I’m guessing so would rodgers. Seattle needs depth on their roster.

Trade is coming. Only roadblock will be Paul Allen.

Love these Schneider developments.  He is the best candidate.  Period.

And of course he's interested.  I mean, c'mon, we're talking about a guy that previously had a clause in his contract that would specifically allow him to leave for Green Bay.  Wisconsin boy that came up in the Packers' organization returning to Green Bay to lead them to another championship? You couldn't write a better script.

Schneider is the answer... you bastards must stop crushing my hopes and dreams.

Kate Upton is also not doing in-home demonstrations of sex toys in your neighborhood either.

That's next Saturday.....she postponed because of the blizzard bomb.

Possibly the biggest clusterf*ck ever for the chip makers.

We've applied 3 separate patches so far from RedHat for our RHEL 6 & 7 environments. Waiting on patch (es) from MSFT.

Fun stuff.

Trading draft picks for a GM? How is that a better script?

Beacause giving up a draft pick or two in one year in exchange for the best GM candidate that should be here for 10-15 years is a much better script than settling for an inferior candidate but hey they kept that 2nd round draft pick that may or may not ever do jack.

It’s thinking long term vs short term

Other possibility is a trade. #Packers had to return a 2nd round pick to #49ers from Tim Harris trade when they hired Mike Holmgren in ‘92. Holmgren has a restrictive clause in his contract.

Eliot Wolf also 'fits' this.

Absolutely.  If we can't get Schneider, I would be fine with Wolf.
