Murphy mentioned more than once how much Thompson hated talking with the press. I've heard reporters comment to this as well.

Maybe it's a form of social anxiety and not dementia.

If there are no health issues then shame on Ted for not standing in front of the media and answering a few questions. I get it if there is something wrong  but just saying no because he doesnt like it is BS and a cop out.

I'm pretty sure we can all diagnose just fine via picture and gifs, thank you.

We all know McCarthy is stupid because of his sideline face

If you can't diagnose someone you see on TV, what kind of dentist/barber are you?

Why? He doesn’t owe an explanation or anything.

He is still today the GM of the Packers. If it is not health, stand up and answer questions. It is part of the job whether he likes it or not.

Disagree. That's full-blown AIDS face. Don't ask how I know.

Answer questions about what? His health? He definitely does not owe an explanation about that. The new job? The 2017 season? Have those not all been covered by MM and Murphy? I don’t understand WANTING to hear TT speak, he says nothing and rarely answers the question. It’s a big fat who cares.

Green Bay owes it us to put a dome over the stadium.

Sorry that had to be repeated.  I can't get past this one.  Sometimes I think the Vikings suck so hard they're beginning to pull GB fans toward them.

A very good friend is excited as this season should create quite the Purge of bandwagon fans.  This dome idea is the perfect example of what he's talking about.

Seriously, we've been so spoiled its not funny.  It was a bad year it happens.  The key is taking the steps to avoid decades of futility and its clear that the Packers as an organization are just as unhappy with the results.  This is going to be as fun/exciting offseason in a long time.

Hopefully he got his prostate exam, he’s the GM, he better show us how enlarged it is and tell us how many times he pees per night.

Or better yet, why are you sitting in a chair like the GM of the Packers and are scared to talk to the media. Why do you hide in your office during the season when the team you put together is falling apart. On second thought, maybe he is right to hide away.

I would have no problem with a dome. hell, it is freaking 0 degrees and this isnt Lombardis Packers. anyone that thinks the Packers have home field advantage in December when it is wind chill of -10 is delusional. Cant throw it, cant catch it and cant hold on to it.

So do you just like watching a visibly annoyed 64 year old man stand at a podium and say nothing or what is it you’re hoping to glean from seeing him?  It doesn’t take a rocket surgeon to know what happened this season, will you be any more satisfied to not hear it from a TT press conference than you are now not hearing him say it?

I want the GM of the Packers to be asked the questions whether I like or dont like the answer. it is his job. He is the one that made decisions and needs to be asked. If he wants to deflect and make funny comments or do a jig during the PC then that is fine. But stand up and be accountable.

put a dome on Lambeau and I'll never go to another game.
football isn't supposed to be for nancys.

Thanks for all you've done and will continue to do for the GBP, Ted!

Packers have shown no problems dealing with the cold even in recent history while opposing teams have.  Sounds like home field advantage to me.  Claims of otherwise don't match evidence of the contrary.

McGinn posted an article this morning that indicates the board of directors were heavily involved in this decision and there are concerns regarding Thompson mental health.

Bob McGinn also thought the Packers could go 11-5 without Aaron Rodgers.

(And was it he or Cliff Christl who called Terry Glenn "she"?)

The new GM could be like Belichick with his (non)answers.

Which is better?

As long as he stands there like a wax statue and makes a few grumbling noises, that’s good enough. He just needs to stand at a podium and be asked questions.

I guess in retrospect, if you gave him the HOF for being the warm body that was there to draft #12, then I agree.  But it was a no-brainer pick then, it wasn’t like it was an unexpected move, most teams didn't have QB needs while the Packers clearly did with #4 being hot and cold about retirement or not every year.

This is a tired and stupid take that has been shot down daily. Favre was not hot and cold about retirement in the spring of 2005. To the contrary, there was a lot of questions why GB would take a QB in the 1st round with Favre still very near his prime. The talk about retirement wasn't really plausible until the 2006 season. I'm sure you'll recall that pic with his OL at Soldier Field in the season finale?

If you are going to post here, come up with some decent football insight, and not parroted commentary from the JS Comments.

Asking a lot, aren't you?

It's amazing to read some of the comments here now that TT is out. These are a lot of the same posters that believed Ted could do no wrong, and was one of the best, if not the best GM's in football. Even thought he was doing the right thing by not signing big ticket FA's. My how the tune has changed. I never liked him ignoring FA, and this is a GREAT day because as Packer fans, we can all enjoy the FA frenzy again, and we will finally have a GM that uses all facets available to him to build his team.

Yay, welcome to the world of expensive, cap destroying busts. I turned on TT too, but not for the lack of signing free agents. It's because he's been drafting like **** since he decided to draft for need.

Because you've fully blown aids patients?

my gut tells me it won't be Ball, not a football guy.  should be wolf - he's from football and has football sensibility, now, we should lock Ball down for 10 years or something reasonable @the going rate.

Bingo. CB after CB after CB the last few years.

I was never one to criticize him for not chasing big money free agents, but I also think he hurt the team by not signing more Jahri Evans, Ahmad Brooks, and Dial types over the years (or Bruce Wilkerson types for Ron Wolf fans). It would have been nice to have some relatively cheap veteran stop-gaps instead of constantly playing UDFAs looking to find the next Sam Shields over the years. It might have lead to less blown coverages and mental errors.
