Fantastic solo acoustic version from Winwood.

Zadarius was good for like the first 8 games in Minnesota and the Packers let him go with a back issue. The Packers definitely got the best years he could give out of Zadarius.
I don't know how many the Packers have signed but.....
I wonder if the Packers would go after Justin Jefferson 🤔. Gutey wanted him in the draft & he also wanted Aiyuk of the Niners.

Kinda doubt it.
Gute doesn't wanna pay top of the market WR money when he can just keep re-loading every other year. I think we're seeing the premium positions become draft- only and use FA for non-premium positions like Safety and RB...
they're much more affordable to snag the top tier players.
Yup..."value" plays a key role in building your team now that's why everyone tries to win it all while their QB is on a rookie deal.
Back when Russell Wilson won the Owl 🦉.....I was arguing with Seattle fans on Twitter about how they won't win another once Wilson gets paid.....and they didn't.
Let's hope Gutey has learned from that and continues stocking the team at other positions so J-Lo can get TWO! 😈
Gotta get one first before thinking about getting two.
I am still thinking gutey may trade some high picks for a special player. He tried a few years ago with mack. I am not sure of one like mack that's available now. Sneed maybe. Top 5 corner in the league at premium position.

To be fair, the were one coach brain fart and arguably the best defensive play in SB history from their second.

None of which should have ever been possible.
Bottom line, I was right they were wrong and I loved the fact that they were trying to tell me how Wilson was going to take a " hometown discount"

I'd also argue Russ threw the worst pass in Super Bowl history. Lost in the "OC should have called a run" was that passing on first is supposed to be low risk - defense expected run so throw a TD if it's there, launch it out of the end zone if it's not. Wastes only 3-4 seconds off the clock. Beast Mode on the next play. Easy peazy. But Wilson threw the worst pass in Super Bowl history. The Pats weren't expecting run, the pass was never there, yet he didn't see it. He should have thrown it away. Game over, no chance for Marshawn to run it in. Wilson blew it but somehow he escaped criticism and it's not his fault.
There is a fascinating story behind that play. The season before NE had a lot of trouble in short yardage goal line situations. "Goal line defense" was always 5 down lineman 3 LBers, two CBs and a safety. NE worked all off season and came up with a plan to play a CB in place of the safety. The problem was that they went all season never having to use it because they were never in that situation. Going on what NE had previously done, Seattle thought they'd be in their traditional short yardage package, and designed a play to isolate the safety on a WR, but instead of a safety, it was Malcom Butler who jumped the route for the pick.

Not necessarily. I'm working on my second million.
I gave up on the first.

GB signed Gilbert from MN, who worked out great for GB. Amos was GB's best signing from Chicago. Detroit?
Going after Jefferson is not in GB's best interests. Jefferson's cost plus Love's extension would financially strap GB much like Rodgers and Adams.
@packerboi posted:Blind faith, no. That would make us sheep. But I think Gute gets it right more often than not. And I think some of his larger criticisms do not take into account that dolts like Mark Murphy over rode his decisions and also that this organization had to bow down Rodgers and his demands.
One is out of this organization and the other soon will be. That only helps Gute to be the kind of GM he wants to be and should be.
There are a whole lot of Gutey sheep on this board. He needs to win a Super Bowl to be relevant.
Seems to me in a tough business with lots of unknowns Gutey has done pretty well. He has acquired enough talent to win. It is now up to Frenchy and the lads.
Bang for buck.

The Steelers cheated. Signing 2 QB's for a total of 10 bucks will reduce your expenses. They will get what they paid for.

And how many of those top 12 will make the playoffs? 4 or 5?
@ammo posted:And how many of those top 12 will make the playoffs? 4 or 5?
Maybe 6.
Highly likely
1. Chiefs
2. Cowboys
3. Niners
Fairly likely
4. Rams (if Stafford is healthy)
5. Falcons (someone has to win that division)
50/50 shot
6. Colts
7. Browns
Jeebus H!
Browns and Rams are 2.5 times our payroll, and the top 11 teams are 2x.
And the 49ers are 9th highest even when they were cheating the cap.
Oh well, those rankings are bound to be just a bit different for the Packers next year...

Amazing. But it will change significantly in May (when Love signs a new deal).
I applaud guys getting paid, but I hope Love realizes what a great opportunity he has now in GB, and that he doesn't break the cap bank. GB has a good young core at WR, a solid line, a good D with a (hopefully) better DC, etc. I hope Ball does his magic so that Love doesn't strap the cap for a bunch of years.
The Giants....

Maybe... but he currently counts $12.8 against the cap. The new contract may not increase the cap hit that much.
Loves Cap number should stay what it is for 2024. Next year though....that's when the new contract will kick in, most likely
Nice nugget from Tom Silverstein this morning on packersnews.com (article is paywalled):
“General manager Brian Gutekunst’s past two drafts have yielded 10 starters who will count less than $4 million against the cap this year and another half-dozen key backups who count less than $2 million.”
Draft 13 players, Gutey.
He probably will
Drafting 13 players would be mistake, IMO. Not necessary.

Never! Bring in more competition, improve special teams, backups and practice squads.

I see both sides, honestly.
I'm hoping he trades some of those picks for 2025. He'll probably do a little of both. I'm thinking draft 9-10 players and trade some of the picks for next year
Definitely want O-Line depth and/or starters from the draft. Maybe another CB too. Also need to find some linebackers.....and another safety....
{Ahem, COUGH}Justin Simmons...{/COUGH}

More oline, more safeties (not just 1), at least one corner capable of starting, an edge and more linebackers.
And a kicker?
