I was thinking the same. He's due for a stinker this spring. Even if he does, we're still fine because of the previous 2 drafts. It will be interesting to see if he makes any FA moves though I forget how much of Rodgers $$ will still be on the books.

Sweet number for the total.
Dead cap will go up when Bahk is cut. As far as contracts this off-season, I think they need to:
- Extend Love
- Restucture Jones
- Cut Bahk
- Restructure Clark
- Possibly cut Campbell
Still got work to do to get away from the 2022 roster with Bahk so I donโt see any big splashes in FA coming. We could get hit real hard if Clark and Jones donโt want team friendly deals.

This is the toughest one. Head says no, heart says yes. Then the head starts thinking yes.
I'm comfortable moving on from Dillon
I don't think cutting Bakhtiari is a given.
Try to get a team friendly restructure 1st, if that fails cut away. A potential Superb Owl should mean more that $10 -$15 million added to what he has already made from the Pack.
On top of HOU's resurgence and ascendence this season is the fact they currently have the second highest cap space in the league.
That's what typically happens when you suck for a long time.
They clear 20M by releasing Bak. The guy has proven he canโt stay healthy. Walker isnโt Bak but to me itโs a no brainer. You let him go and use that money to get a LB that can cover or a safety that can cover and tackle. Itโs pretty likely they draft a LT anyway.
Interesting and BIG offseason. They threw open the sash.
Will Gute stick staunchly to the draft like the last 2 years or will he try to make a splash in FA like he did in 2019?
They do need to keep 33 but they can not count on him to be the same guy over 17 games at his age. They need another slasher with burst that can run away from guys.

I think this is a Donald Driver type deal where you keep him on until the wheels fall off and you both agree itโs time. Heโs too good of a dude to treat like any old RB, heโs still talented enough to provide some juice, and heโs the kind of lockerroom guy you want steering then ship. But youโre right, the head says that a RB with multiple injuries at his age means time to cut bait. But if you invest in a real #2 (not Dillon), then you can think about load management and Jones seemed to be better with a smaller load early in the season. Itโs all about the load for him at this point.
Cutting Bahk and Campbell makes for 30 million in cap space. Restructure Jones to clear up a little more and now you have money to resign Love and add mid range vet at ILB or S to go along with draft class.

Bahk wasn't Bahk as a first year starter either. Let's give Walker some competition from the draft.
Yes, Walker improved greatly over the last half of the season and into the playoffs. He keeps on that trajectory and there are zero worries at LT.
I donโt think the need is as great now for OL. Draft a running back if one is there please
Bukowski goes over the Bak situation at the 11 minute mark.
More praise on the young'ns.
edit: That's actually from FanSided, not MSN. Junk food sports journalism that's fun for a few minutes.
The puppies, as it were.
I want Micah Hyde back as a safety
He's no spring chicken.
Watson for Hyde and Douglas?
Iโd keep Watson. He just needs some work. He has good engine under the hood and just a little rust. Pick up a couple of new hamstrings and some Bondo and heโll be fine. Heโs a runner.

I'd be happy if my class had that GPA! The puppies are doing well. Gute has been about as good as a GM can be in the past two drafts.
Listening to Bill Michaels yesterday as I was driving. A guy called in and said the Packers should name J J Watt as the new GM so he could convince his brother T J to come to the Packers. Bill sort of nicely shot him down. He said as far as he knew J J had no scouting experience and that is #1 for a G M. Anybody else hear any crazy shit about hires?
Coiled Cock?
The game will continue to get younger, and Gutekunst has eleventy picks this draft. Keep building for many runs at the Lombardi.

Micah Hyde is probably going to retire. He's 33 and had neck surgery before last season. He was experiencing recurrent stingers in the last half of this season.
Letting him go without an offer was definitive proof of TT's cognitive decline.
I think it was the coaching staff at the time rather than TT. They kept trying to play him at slot corner rather than safety, a position of perceived strength at the time.
The coaching staff didn't have much choice. There was jack shit for corner depth.

That would be a shite move. TJ Watt is (believe it or not) entering his age 30 year in October, and while I love JJ as a humanitarian and player, he has zero experience scouting, etc. OTOH, if JJ wants to serve as an apprentice or fly on the wall in GB's FO, that could be accommodated.
Besides, Gutey has for the past two years done a great job in the draft, gotten rid of Rodgers, managed to find the next starting QB, and is on a roll. I wouldn't replace him now. Wait until after this year's draft to do that.
Gutey is going to be the GM of the Packers for a long time - not sure where all this is coming from other than an intended, not serious, funny comment from JJ Watt
It was not from JJ but some guy for Wausau I think that called into Bill's show. It was shortly after the noon break.
