Not cheering for your boy, Davies?😊

Can't root for Canada.

As I like to joke with Canadians, Canada's #1 national sport is hockey.  Canada's #2 national sport if America-bashing.  The smug xenophobia combined with the idea in a fair amount of US media that Canada should be our #2 country because they're our neighbors makes me instinctively root against Canada.

Canada is a defensive mess.

Canaduh is USMNT 20 years ago...all they have is pace...which can get you far in CONCACAF but not so much vs. top teams.

My English friend had an interesting perspective on USMNT...said they are by far the best team he's seen come out of USA in his time watching. I pointed out how poor our pace is...he said "but they do everything else so much better than they ever did before."

I then pointed out Walker Zimmerman...to which he pointed out "every country has their own version of Harry Maguire."

Antonee Robinson is going to be the FB I had hoped DeAndre Yedlin would be...not quite the pace of Yedlin, but fast enough and does everything else well. He is about to get paid...I just hope it's in England or Germany and doesn't get shipped off to Italy.

If they can figure out CB by 2026, this could be a squad that could actually get to the final 8 if things go well. Turner has grown more a few months at Arsenal than Zack Steffen did in his years at City. I think we have our keeper for the next 10 years.

All told, this has been a weird WC as far as who has won and lost. Argentina loses to Saudi Arabia but then comes back to beat Mexico, Denmark ties Tunisia, Morocco and Croatia tie and then Morocco beats Belgium, while Japan beats Germany only to lose to Costa Rica, and on it goes. It's made for some more tension as several traditionally excellent teams are down to win-or-go-home mode.

Great World Cup probably caused by the fact that they only practiced one week together

My people .

So get this. I got volunteered to pick up our neighbors kid  tomorrow from school 30 minutes awayâ€Ķ.smack dab in the middle of the game.

Mrs. Kiel “You can just record the game.”

Fuck me and if that damn kid talks while I listen to the game on radio, they’re getting dropped off in the hood.
