Re: Texans at Chiefs
No, I just know the only reason the Texans are here is that QB & their WR (Hopkins) -- Couple good defenders too -- They seriously should've lost last week vs. the Bills. 28-24 Chiefs. LOTTA ballgame left! Chiefs get ball to open 2nd half but Texans threatening to score. I'm calling dagger on that FG miss by the Texans. Maybe the Texan kicker has the flu Chiefs score to open 3rd Quarter. Calling it now.

Re: Falcons/Seahags
Will cheer on the Texan myself. Can't stand the 9ners, their fan base, their coach and now the little B&tch QB they have (that taunting showed me a lot about his character). Seattle again can't stand their coach, golden taint. Falcons I guess they haven't done anything to sway me one way or the other but still can't stand them. ON the AFC side, you've got the Ravens and their murdering LB and a harbaugh, finally the Patriots and their Northeastern attitude can suck it.

Re: Four 1st Round Picks
The Giants tried to make Dayne the bruiser, which was not really his game in college. He could run between the tackles, and he had some power for sure, but he was more than just a north-south runner at 5'10 250 lbs. I don't know if he was used incorrectly, that might be overstating it, but I don't think he fit the Giants run scheme at all. In his last two years in the NFL, at Houston, he was a much more effective runner. He averaged 3.5 ypc as a Giant, and upped that to 4.0 as a Texan, a...

Re: Tom Clements Has Plan For Offensive Improvement
Damn, look how bad Arizona & Jacksonville are at 3rd down %. Hatin' life! The last time someone tried to play us man-up, (The Texans) they got torched for 6 TD passes. I don't think 1 team tried it after that Texan game. Now we have some RB's. Things will be different this year, especially on the left side of the line. My biggest concern with the offense? CENTER!

Re: Jags/Texans game thread
Back to back absolutely stupid plays by Texan DB. First a taunting that gives the Jags a 1st down when they had forced a 4th down and then a hold that gives them another. How can Kubiack leave him in the game? Bench his ass and maybe he would learn something.

Well that was an improvement to the Texan gene pool. It should have at least improved you all's IQ.

Not really.....Bills family were dumb as rocks. They grew up in the country, had 9 kids. Bill did not even know how to pronounce chigger. He would say gigger. When he would write to his Mother he would ask me how to spell words such as "with". I've never seen anything like it.

Re: 2018 NFL DRAFT Viewing Thread
You're reaching to justify that comparison and your concern. Carroll was an inch shorter 15 lbs heavier with an extensive track background. They only thing they have in common is that they play CB, were picked in R1 by the Packers, they are better in press coverage than zone, and they are under 6'. If those are your criteria then yeah their similarities are concerning. Alexander's measurables are all pretty close to Sam Shields including size, build, speed, college conference, and WR background.

Re: 2018 NFL DRAFT Viewing Thread
Yeah, I can't think of one CB that was a bit cocky and was successful. Not one. Give me that shrinking violet every time. Seriously?

With all that D and OL talent still available, it's going to be hard for them to look at WR in RD2 but damn, they really need to find one before the end of the day.

Re: 2018 NFL DRAFT Viewing Thread
I'm hoping the Saints trade was truly some future planning on Goof's part. 2 #1's is a lot of ammo. If I'm using my totally un-scientific and non-existent draft board I would guess if the Packers sit pat it's an offensive pick, OL or TE. I keep reading Landry would be purely a pass rush guy, no inside move, not sturdy enough. Would he truly be worth trying to make a move up in the 2nd to get? I'm just curious to see if any respectable pass rushers would drop to the middle of the round. There...

Million dollar idea. Packers backfield nick name. Ministry of Silly Walks. Of course they'd be penalized into a 0-16 record. The Offense better be reading this. Now that's an EZ celebration.

FTFY DB's take as long as 4 years to "get it" sometimes. I think we'll have a real good idea about Jaire at the end of the 2019 season. Just stay healthy & play! Guys I like that are left on the board Josh Jackson DJ Chark Courtland Sutton Isaiah Oliver Will Hernandez Ronnie Harrison

Re: 2018 NFL DRAFT Viewing Thread
listening to local Bucs talk radio there was not anyone that sounded all excited about the possibility of taking James for the Bucs. They were saying he was a great athlete but rarely did enough on the field to make a difference. Any many of the callers were FSU alum. So whether James or Edumunds are all that is as much in debate as whether or not Alexander is all that. I have no idea how these guys are going to translate to pro ball but hoping Alexander is better than Rollins or the already...

Problem is they are probably all gone by #45. The question is will Glutes package some chum to move up in RD2 or climb back into RD3? If he gets back into RD3 I hope it's the top half because he already has the first pick in RD4.

Re: 2018 NFL DRAFT Viewing Thread
I'd actually trust the super homers of Florida college football. I think it's pretty safe that Alexander will be a better fit than Randall and definitely better than Rollins. Both tweener projects.

Re: 2018 NFL DRAFT Viewing Thread
I think it was Gute taking advantage of a team that is all-in this year. The Saints pick at worst is #32. However, the Saints pick is one injury away from being a top 10-12 pick and that injury risk is a 39 year old QB.

Re: 2018 NFL DRAFT Viewing Thread
Possibly all gone by #45 - We'll see Nobody expected Landry still on the board....or Josh Jackson. Lotta draft left yet. Reading back through older articles & finding out things here in Dallas - Seems Packers were really, REALLY trying to trade up & get Minkah. When that didn't work, they traded down & "settled" for Jaire while picking up more draft capital. Dolphins probably wanted the moon to move up 3 spots - good for Gutey standing his ground on value. Although I don't see...

That's exactly what I was thinking. AZ didn't pay too much to move up. Seems like Packers could have easily made a similar move. But after seeing how everything worked out, I'm glad it didn't happen. Time will tell, but based upon what I've read, there is a very good chance that Alexander ends up being as good, if not better, than Minkah. So I'm happy with Alexander and a future 1st.

Draft gurus... Feel good story aside, what round is a reasonable spot for Shaq Griffen to land and what's his ceiling look like?

Re: 2018 NFL DRAFT Viewing Thread
Well he was invited to the combine and I think to the Draft Room. He has great speed and strength.

Re: 2018 NFL DRAFT Viewing Thread
Griffen is interesting. I'd guess top of 5th, but hobbits seem to be in fashion this year and it only takes one GM. The hand aside, he's awfully small for a linebacker. He's probably a Joe Thomas-type in the dime, and special teams. Hand work is so important in the pros and length can be too. If a team sees him as the nickel guy also, he could see the third round

Re: 2018 NFL DRAFT Viewing Thread
The top QB was the shortest, the top 3 corners were all small, as is Kolton Miller (lean vs. short) and neither receiver has great size. Roquon Smith is also lacks desired size.

Perhaps the death of Verne Troyer this week has given the Pack a soft spot for midgets? Ok, bad joke. Truth be told, I really don't care how big or small guys are as long as they can play. Being 5'8" 167 lbs. myself I personally have some love for the vertically and horizontally challenged individuals of the NFL.
