Truth.

Expecting more out of Cutler than what he’s shown thus far in his career is just nonsensical. Cutler is not a quarterback that is going to make other players around him better; he needs to operate in an offensive system that will hide his weaknesses and mitigate the disastrous mistakes that have plagued his career.

CHI OC Gase - Cutler smarter than I thought

Translation: I was under the impression Jay was a real Munson, but he's really just a dumb-ass.

only comment at the article currently reveals the delusion fans can live in:

Larsonite says:

The bears have talent and will be one of the surprise teams to make the playoffs. The coaching, game plans and team chemistry were the reasons why we had a horrible season. Imo, we’ll have a top 15 defense and an offense that can score at will when it’s rolling. Cutler is the big question but this year is his first last year. If he struggles, no one will want him on their team next year. That is the motivation I think settles him down for a very good season.

"... an offense that can score at will..."

Peter King's ass-kissery ramping up.

A man's got to know his limitations.

From a divisional standpoint. Aaron has not performed well against Chicago. He's only 11-3 with a rating of 109.8. He's played much better against Detroit and Minny. He needs to clean that up.

He's 31-9 against the division overall with a rating of 114.2. And he didn't finish 2 of those games.

And he wants to play 8 more years.

Thanks Ted.

The defense generally regarded as the best in NFL history might be the only collection in Chicago that fully appreciates the fact Jay Cutler is the greatest Chicago QB of all time while secretly wishing like **** they had a chance to play against that turnover machine.

Meanwhile, Alshon Jeffery is in a walking boot and using crutches after he injured his calf in their preseason opener. Smokin Jay's #1 WR Week 1 might be Eddie Royal.

The Bears are looking poised to be a team fighting for the worst record in the NFL this season. Fans don't even get the excitement of seeing their high 1st round pick in action with White likely done for the year

It's OK; Jay Cutler still has an ample number of cornerbacks to throw to.

Whoa, I think you've just solved the Bears offensive woes. Move the teams CBs onto offense .

I told my buddy we'd trade him a WR for Martellus Bennett.

He said...."YES! Let's do this! Jordy for MartySaurus."

I said, "No. I was thinking more like Myles White & an Old Milwaukee. I'll throw in a bag of chips."

Jeremiah Ratliff suspended 1st 3 games of the season for an earlier DUI the NFL announced. So appearently all appeals have been exhausted. That hurts an already bad D and evens things up a bit for the Packs D loss for the 1st game.

Jeremiah Was A Bullfrog

Yes. Cutler is as physically talented as anyone, leadership is completely nebulous and mentally he's a honey badger. There is a dearth of great QBs in the league, and soon to be worse with Brady, Manning and Brees about done.

Is Cutler really that much worse than guys like (and including) Romo, Eli and Rivers?

More on Cutler from Grantland

Cliff Notes version:

"From the moment Cutler posed with Lovie Smith and Jerry Angelo for the first time at Halas Hall, the Bears have hired two new head coaches, two new general managers, and five offensive coordinators. Cutler has taken Chicago to the playoffs once, the same number of trips Rex Grossman and Kyle Orton delivered during their seasons as the team’s starting quarterback."
