I'm sure your extensive film study came up with that brilliant analysis.

Like I have a choice.
The rams are shopping around for a trade for CB Truemain Johnson and his mega (16 mil.) salary cap number. He is good but not that good. TT keeps us out of cap hell.
If they are shopping him now, the Rams may end up cutting him later.
He'd still be a pricey FA, so I'd expect he'll be getting his green & gold elsewhere.

Nope, I wouldn't have a clue how to watch film of a CB or even know what to look for. I don't go to practice and I've never been in the room
But I know how to seek out and find a few people who do know. There are lots of screaming banshees, but if you invest a little time, you can find some good sources and learn a few things along the way. Football teams separate the wheat from the chaff and I try to do the same thing in terms of football writers/analysis
Obviously your ample ass is still chapped, but it'll heal up eventually.

Sad part is that House was better than Damarious Randall.
I didn't realize House played injured all season too.
If you follow TTs history even going back to Seattle he's typically done well finding decent DBs whether it's in the draft or FA. I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt on Rollins and Randall and quite frankly we need those two to be successful.
House may not be starter quality but he had his moments and would be worth a shot.
Amazing that in one year the corner group went from being a position of strength to one of weakness.
Just like with Ankles Adams, I'd like to see what Randall and Rollins can do when they have experience under their belt AND they're 100% healthy. Even with his struggles this year Randall still made some pretty exciting plays on the ball, so to me there is hope that he can rebound from this. Rollins still needs development, but the plays he made as a rookie tell me that the raw skills are there he just needs to learn the nuances of the position. When you play a position that is so reliant on your speed/quickness (like CB/WR/S/RB/etc.), having a leg or foot injury can really reduce your effectiveness. I'm sure it impacts you mentally as well, being distracted by pain or not having the confidence your body can do what you need it to do.
House isn't better than Randall. You lose your number 1 CB and inject a second year guy with a bunch of injuries into the number 1 roll and yeah, he's going to struggle. I think Rollins is going to need a little more seasoning. It seems Randall has his head on straight and won't become a headcase from getting shelled last season. He likely will be the number 1 again. If anything he got a truck full of learning last year.
They still need the vet presence, House isn't it. House and Gunter are the same guy.
I don't think the question should be is he better than our #1 option, but is he better than our #3 or #4 option? Heck yeah! Depending on House's price tag, he's an instant upgrade over everyone behind Gunter on the depth chart. Randall/Rollins/Gunter/House looks better than Randall/Rollins/Gunter/Hawkins.
Brandon Marshall signs a 2 year deal with Giants
Randall will be fine. I'm actually of the opinion Rollins may eventually be better than Randall. Gotta get healthy.
As far as the vet presence. House cant hurt. After House the only real vet presence that might make sense for Ted would be Claiborne, Kirkpatrick, or Revis. The DB draft class should keep FA contracts reasonable. Especially for the second tier guys.
2 years $12 million for Brandon Marshall. That's a good pick up for NY.
A better pass rush would help Randall and Rollins immensely. A defensive backs best friend. I know the sack numbers were ok, but the better predictor (IMO) of Defensive front ability is pressure, knockdowns, hurries, etc....and the Pack was pretty poor at applying consistent pressurelast year. Only Mike Daniels(28) and Nick Perry(47) ranked in the top 50 for Defensive Hurries last year. For reference : Clay (63) , Datone(73) and Julius Peppers(83) and Fackrell (168). Clays numbers were down due to injury , but those rankings show pretty poor consistency in pressuring the QB.
A stud front seven guy , or two, would make the secondary seem much better.
(...and of course a new DC)

I guess I wouldn't consider House much of a vet presence. Rollins and Randall are going into their 3rd year, it would be nice to have a guy that played #1/#2 roll successfully. I don't disagree he would be a better option than Hawkins but it would be nice if TT shops around a bit first.
Henry posted:House and Gunter are the same guy.
Disagree. Gunter is much younger and still needs a lot of development in his technique. More importantly, House is faster than Gunter. Gunter has to win at the LOS, because once he's beat, its over. He can't close the gap. House has enough speed to close the gap and he's had years of experience in the NFL.
House is a much better option than Gunter in 2017 and that's a win for GB

Those guys rarely reach the market and when they do they are very expensive
The Packers will add some players on the back end, FA + draft + development of in- house guys and let them settle it in TC. Don't worry about who is slotted where in March, just add talent and let Whitt go to work

Great move. It's inexpensive, and dude is still productive.
A move that a team that is forced to outscore opponents because they have a horrible defensive coordinator should have made...
Sounds like the Bears are close in talks with Mike Glennon.
That Glennon stuff is hilarious.
According to Rapoport. 2 teams showing strong interest in Brian Hoyer. 49ers and Jets.
Gotta be early draft smoke. No one shows strong interest in Brian Hoyer.
It's all happy horse $#!t before the draft.
I don't believe ANY of this stuff
Details aren't final. But it appears SF just gave Pierre Garcon a 1 year $16 million dollar contract.
If correct. This Lynch/Shanahan combo might be more entertaining than Baalke/Tomsula.
I mean. If you don't know who the QB is going to be you really should spend $16 million for a 30 year old journeyman.

Brandon stated publicly that he wanted to stay in NYC area.
(....GB is not in the NYC area.)
Nothing you can do about that except to find another possession WR who can handle the job at half the price and without becoming the 5th team who got tired of his act.
Al Woods cut by Titans. Perhaps a good JAG for plug and play in GB.
Per Schefter Dallas is realeasing Romo tomorrow morning. Should be interesting to see what Denver or Houston throw at him. Could be a big number.

We were 13th as a team in "hurries" last season.....we need CBs that can cover.
Glennon, Hoyer, Romo, Tyrod Taylor. Lots of chatter/rumors flying around about where the QBs will end up. Some of them are starting to land.
So we're probably a day or so away from Kaep's agent reminding everyone his guy is available. And a week or so away from Kaep singing the National Anthem on instagram.
Patriots just traded for Colts TE Dwayne Allen. Allen just signed a 4 year $30 million extension around this time last year. 4th and a 6th round pick. Assume Its this years 4th and next years 6th. They don't have a 6th this year. Have to think they'll get that 6th back next year (probably better) with the comp pick they pick up when Bennett signs somewhere else.
Edit. Colts get a 4th. Pats get Allen and a 6th in return. That's just a good move by NE. Plus they'll likely pick up the comp next year for Bennett.
Love the way the Pats build their roster.
That's just really smart work. Get a great year out of Bennett. Let him walk that probably nets a 4th round comp next year. Pick up a comparable TE. Net result is you lose a 4th but flip the assets for two picks.
It gets better. They gave up a 4th and got Bennett and a 6th back in the Chicago trade this time last year. They took that 6th rounder and turned it into Kyle Van Noy.
****ers!!!

Considering 2 of our top 4 guys creating hurries are FA, we need more than that.....and guys that can cover.
Brian Hoyer has agreed to 2-yr. w/49'ers.

One thing about Gunter tho, he is not afraid to hit guys. Can the same be said about House?
I remember pre-season 2012 and House looked like a guy ready to take a starting spot. He was playing great. I want to say it was the same game Bishop tore his hammy up in San Diego when House tore his shoulder up and tried playing with a brace weeks later but was never the same. House looked like a guy ready to make a jump.
